  • Old BBFC cuts start at 0:14 to around 0:38 or so.

  • why is this scene cut from the film on dvds in england for. i aint seen this scene on my lethal weapon 2 dvd

  • @dobbin385 i think it was either cut for timing reasons or it was just too violent. nice scene though, there's other scenes that also never make the uk cut.

  • @mackychloe There were 2 scenes that were cut for a BBFC 18 but have been reinstated at 15 for a boxset re-release. Helpful hint from a long time censorship nerd. :P melonfarmers.co.u k/bbfc_cuts_lethal_weapon_2.htm#Less_Lethal_2215

  • For luck. Shining trivia. Because Danny Lloyd was so young and since it was his first acting job, Stanley Kubrick was highly protective of the child. During the shooting of the movie, Lloyd was under the impression that the film he was making was a drama, not a horror movie. He only realized the truth seven years later, when, aged 13, he was shown a heavily edited version of the film. He didn't see the uncut version of the film until he was 17 - eleven years after he'd made it.

  • This film is truely great! Thumbs up if you agree.

  • I loved Mel Gibson before he was an anti-semite, lol.

  • @Joelomite right

  • those guys must have fake tits

  • We need more cops like Riggs.

  • I don't care about whatever Mel Gibson has done in his private life, he is a badass in the movies. Lethal weapon series, Mad Max 1 and 2, Payback and Edge Of Darkness are all stone cold classics.

  • Classic....and I thought vinnie jones was the first guy to do it in lock stock :P

  • Thought this scene existed, kept telling my mates, both my copies here in the uk are cut. need to get the uncut version of this and 4. any ideas.

  • @dawnsbrother68 The best way(s) to get this great sequel uncut is this: Get the German DVD if you want the director's cut / extended (by 3 minutes) version uncut, Blu-Ray if you want the original theatrical version, OR just record the film next time it's on UK TV channels like Channel 4. That's my advice. :)

  • @doodlecheesebug2 thanks for the info buddy.

  • Fuck 'em up, Riggs!

  • He really wanted the pussy.

  • This reminds me of the director's commentary for one of the Die Hards. The first one, I think.

The stunt coordinator talks about how some fight scenes need to be very brutal to convey emotion, if I remember correctly. He worked on this fight scene and mentioned it as an example. He supposedly did the car door bash himself in a fight once. I love how casually and calmly he told that story.

  • Are we all here because of Tommy Joe!? haha :)

  • tommy joe ratliff, babay! Wow, that was so retarded of me...

  • HA HA! THX TOMMY! :P

  • hihi i'm here 'couse of tommy too ;)

he's got a strange taste but i like such things

  • hihi i'm here 'couse tommy too;)

he's got a strange taste but i like such things

  • tommy sent me

  • TJR sent me (along with neil) hehehehe

  • Here 'cause of Tommy Joe Ratliff!

  • Tommy Joe Ratliff sent me here

  • yaa i came cause of tommy's tweet to neil 2!! i kinda had curiosity

  • TommyJoe Sent Neil here! The rest of us are just creepers.. haha

  • @leighcham hahahha.. this is true. x)

  • Tommy send me heeere , too (: <3

  • Thumbs up if Tommy Joe send you here :)

  • Hollywood haven't got the guts to depict two low life scumbags being so brutally killed in an action film nowadays. And even if they did they'd probably make it over the top with bad CG effects. Thank god I own the blu ray boxset of these movies so I can watch it uncut in the UK!!!

  • If only I could do it to those cunts and cocksuckers who had a hand in my sweetheart's demise. That's how pissed off I feel to the assholes who killed my girl.

  • Little did people watching the Lethal Weapon movies know that....they were not movies, it was a documentarie on an average day in the life of Mel Gibson. This is a good scene from it :)

  • it was crazy the way gibson did them mother fuckers haha

  • he is the best actor for portraying anger. I mean, look at this, as well as in the Patriot

  • I believe Mel Gibson and from what i have read,he went through some issues leading up to Passion For The Christ, something ''deep'' down is still wanting out

  • 80S MOVIES ROCKED.....

  • It's funny how America has no problem making movies where the bad guys are foreigners and the Americans are the good guys, which is very far from reality. I wonder how the American people will ract when someone has the balls to make a movie portraying the Americans as the bad guys and have a foreigner kill off hundreds of them.

  • Cool scene but the neck snapping wasn't very convincing.

  • riggs is the best

  • LOL MEL GIBSONS CRAZY

  • hang about though, how could have taken both of them out BEFORE putting his shoulder back in its socket???

  • @TheNkw1984 Because...he's Martin Riggs.

  • I love it how this fucking guy is going through so much turmoil right now in his life. This fucking movie pisses me off so much I want to explode. How fucking racist it is. About South Africa, and how the native population has turned it in to a fucking shithole, since white minority rule has been overthrown.

  • I love this scene, and am irritated that if I buy the box set (I'm English) I wouldn't be able to see it. Nevertheless, if you think about it, it's actually kinda funny. I don't mean that in a bad way either, it's an awesome scene, but in some ways it's so over the top and filled with what I call "insane vengeful anger" that it's kinda, well, cheesy. Not that it isn't great, it is, but it also makes great fodder for parodies of Mel Gibson's angry side.

  • Sad moment...

  • riggs was pissed off!!

  • Reminder... do not p*** off Riggs lol.

  • This scene show Riggs is a real Lethal Weapon!

  • In England you can't get this scene on the DVD, but you can if it's showing on TV! Doesn't make sense!!

  • best movie ever

  • The man loves a car door.

  • that often provokes mental. I've enjoyed this film T O T A L L Y F R E E @ MovieWatcher[.]US

  • put it this way they killed his wife put him in a straight jacket to which he had to dislocate his shoulder then killed Rika, then he killed them in a rage and finally had to pop his shoulder back in i'd say that is one big rage out that not even steroids can top

  • Agreed.

  • Riggs really let those two Boers have it. Assholes got what they deserved.

  • so much anger!!

  • @youliveyoudie, Yes there's only so much a man can take! The murder of his wife and new gf should just about do it!

  • Poor Rika. It always makes me tear up on her death scene.

God I love Patsy Kensit. GORGEOUS!

  • Yes she is gorgeous, even more so today.

This is still my favorite film of the series. Intense and yet funny at the same time in the appropriate doses. Only beef I have with these films now is the unrealistic gunshot sounds, but that was prevalent in all these kinds of films, so thats just me nitpicking really. Doesn't distract from how badass these movies are still though.

  • i never saw this scene in the movie and i've got it on DVD but there is a lot of things they don't put on DVD's like the final showdown fight in LW 4, a lot of that fight scene was edited.

  • Riggs is the best kickass ever!!!

  • I thought killing Rika was one horrible way of saying fuck you to Riggs. The violence (emotional violence, that is) in this scene is near disturbing, but you kinda feel a cathartic effect when he thrashes those bastards.

  • It's a shame that old fart Mel Gibson doesn't want anything to do with Lethal Weapon anymore... I'd kill for a 5th one.

  • that would be good, but mel gibson is getting old, and doesnt act that much anymore.

just finished a film which would be his first in like 5yrs

  • the door bashing scene, i think guy ritchie told Bullet Tooth Tony to watch this scene for Snatch LOL

  • those bastards deserved for martin riggs to go badass on them!

  • love these movies Mel is the best!!!!!!!

  • Warner Bros STILL haven't resubmitted this to the BBFC! Or 4!

I guess we'll just have to wait for an uncut Blu Ray. :(

  • I'm actually writing to Warner Brothers to do just that at this moment (resubmit to the BBFC), so who knows???

  • I tried that myself... a while ago. My comments were supposedly "passed on" to some kind of higher force.

More like - "tossed out the window".

  • I'll try it myself anyway. If that doesn't work, I'll have to do the only honourable thing - contact the BBFC themselves and have them pass it uncut... OR ELSE!!! ;-)

  • This movie as a whole is very entertaining, but for me, the fun stopped with the murder of Rika. I presume the intent was to eliminate the entire gang associated with the S. African consulate so the sequels (undoubtedly planned well in advance) wouldn't be burdened with holdovers. Nonetheless, the script here could have been written better.

  • If some bloody blokes off'd my girl in such that way, including me, I'd sure would thrash the living daylights out of them too. The repetitious door head slam is totally old school style Justice.

    Bam, bam ,bam, CRACK!

  • SAM IS ADORABLE! :D

  • the UK version cuts off at 00:13 and skips to 00:40

  • On the DVD yes, but not on TV for two years running...

  • Undeniably very poor editing from BBFC. Ironically it's been uncut on UK TV for two years running, so it needs to be uncut on DVD sooner rather than later.

  • yeah and it'll probably be a 15 now like the original cinema version was. then when It was on video they gave it an 18.

  • I remember that this was cut in the UK and Ireland. The strange thing is that the Lethal Weapon 1 scene where he breaks Endo's neck with his legs (after suffering horrific electric torture) and continues break the necks of mercs in his rescue attempt of Murtaugh was never cut.

I suppose because Lethal Weapon 2 was a summer blockbuster film.

  • Patsy Kensit, bueatiful woman, tragic death.

  • Man, he busted out the can of whupass.

  • i guess im lucky its on my dvd

  • look at little sam just sittin there :(

id never seen that scene before, brutal

    :D

    xo

  • isn't that Bud from the movie Day of the Dead and post plastic surgery Lex Luthor from the second season of superboy tv series getting his neck broken?

  • Yeah it is 'Bub' from Day of the Dead played by Howard Sherman, if not it looks like him.

  • this isn't a deleted scene... It was in the film...

  • it used to be deleted in the UK but not any more.

  • Wow, I didn't know that. That's pretty interesting. I'm from Philadelphia in the States, so... lol, I remember watching this movie, with this scene when I was 9, lol

  • I've go this on DVD and this bit is not in it.

    How is this?

  • i recorded the film off the tv in ireland 15 years ago and that scene was in it

  • Lethal Weapon 2 was shown fully uncut on E4 the other week. if Warners re-submitted it now the BBFC would pass it uncut.

  • It's high time Warner Brothers re-released Lethal Weapon 2 uncut on DVD in the UK. It seems that the UK version HAS now been passed uncut, but only shown on TV and needs to get a DVD release... right NOW!

  • it's much better with this scene

  • Yeah, It always bugged me. I remember seeing the full version in Turkey or Greece. And then when watching it again back here, I kept swearing there was a scene where Rigg slammed a guys skull in the door.

Also did it originally show Rigg killing the container guards before they knew it was full of money and a car.

  • this scene was in the movie what are you talking about

  • it has been cut out of european releases. not american. that's what he's talking about..

  • There's a few more cuts of Lethal Weapon 2 UK as well.

  • yes the final scene with jet li is entirely cut in lethal weapon 4 here in Europe

they just fuck up movies :P

  • they cut that out wow they fucked it up

here. In canada we get it the same as the americans

  • I know. Ive got this on DVD and they cut it out for some reason. You don't see what happened to these guys

  • i have it and it was taped off tv on to a dvd and this scene is there

  • It's on the DVD I've got, but I have the director's cut.

  • I'm in Australia and I have the original cardboard case versions of the first 3 films and they later released them saying "directors cut" at the top. However this scene is not cut out but it may be cut because I don't remember the breaking of the guys neck look so graphic. I'll soon get a hold of all 4 of the directors cuts and I wonder if Riggs fight with Mr Joshua has been edited on the one I own, if so I'd love to see it unedited.

  • yeah i have the director's cuts of the first 3 films aswell. Here in england this scene is cut out of that directors cut dvd because of the censor people BBFC i think. Same as lethal weapon 4 in england it is massively cut.

  • this scene didnt even make the dvd version too man :O ... and i live in the uk first time ive seen it

  • can someone explain me how all this is possible while having a dislocated shoulder.

  • yeah it's just a movie lol

  • this scene was not cut....but after reading some more comments, it must of been only cut in england or something. lol, i always love it when riggs beats the fuck out of the bad guys.

  • Just saw this scene tonight on Sky one in the uk, Must of been allowed to pass with a rating now

  • I've seen Lethal Weapon 2 so many times, it being my favourite. I too live in the UK and I've never seen this scene ever. Wow, it's awesome scene.

  • i'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • Yeah, shit like 9 songs can have cumshots and hardcore sex, but ALL of steven seagal films, commando, and this lethal weapon 2 are all raped by the BBFC.

  • I know but some people find the two flipsides good jokes and torture scenes hard to reconcile.

  • i always felt a sense of desolation as riggs looks at rika to see her already drowned goldfish style with no hope of saving her.Action comedy my ass.

  • Ain´t that comedy when the captain throws riggs the little sign and says: what does that read? And riggs says: Yeah, the same thing as that but I don´t give a fuck.

  • great scene

  • Wow, they cut this out of the UK version? Can't imagine it working without this scene.

  • This was in the vhs version I'm watching it as I type this...

  • oh you multitasker you

  • this is on my dvd of the movie

  • that scene was not deleted...

  • read all of the comments below you will see that it was cut in england ok then.

  • The reason this scene is not on the Region 2 DVD is because the BBFC cut it out. I don't see why, it's not that violent. Most annoying BBFC cut has to be all the cuts they made to Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

  • yeah the eyeball soup

  • Well, I meant the heart being ripped out of the chest, as well as other cuts. It's done so clumsily, it insults the audiences intelligence. And the uncut version could certainly get away with a 12 certificate; even the TV series and new movie of Indian Jones have 12 certificates. The whole thing is absurd.

  • lol beanz, that guy suffered a brain hamerroage

  • hahah who did?

  • the guy having his head smashed in the car door by riggs

  • ha ha was that a brain hemeroge. i always thought his neck got dislocated or broken or summit lol ooh well

  • 'YAWNIING'

  • whats the matter with you?

  • i have the directors cut editions of 1 2 and 3 but thisbit of that sence should of been in the 2nd directors cut

  • yeah iv got them aswell inno this scene should of been in it. but that's britain for you lol

  • riggs is seriously pissed

  • well they just murdered his gf lol the same people who murdered his wife a few years back, i would be pissed aswell lol.

  • cool scene

  • haha yes she did

  • man, seeing that chick's eyes open freaked me out when i first saw this film. she had such a fine body.

  • ah in germany most of the door scene is cut. you see only how the man crash the window

  • sam the dog wasnt visible in the original version if im correct, while riggs is holding the secretary

  • But I watched the movie a lot of times and that scene is always there!!!

  • That's because in American regions, that scene was never cut out, but in the UK, the BBFC (our equivelant of the MPAA) that bit was cut out for censorship, bastardizing the film totally. Also, the sound in this clip is a semi-tone higher compared to America. It's only deleted in the UK, not America or anywhere else.

  • I was really pissed off when this scene was missing from what was ment to be the directors cut of Leathal Weapon 2!! It's been in the one they show on telly! They did the same with a fiew scenes in Commando, The virson I recorded or the telly when I was yonger had them in but when I got it on DVD they wernt there!! Damn it makes me mad!

  • The taller hitman (who gets his neck broken) is Sherman Howard who has starred in several television series, in addition he was Lt. Kiley in RICOCHET (1991), and in JAK AND DAXTER: THE PRECURSOR LEGACY he's the voice of the Red Sage.

  • oh well me dont like bloody but i saw it :(

  • It isn't a deleted scene.

  • No in the US, but is in the UK (sadly), apart from when shown on Channel 4 back in May 2007.

  • that wasn't very nice.

  • this was only cut out when being shown on british tv its says it on wikipedia i watched this last night n they cut out this scene but when it used to come on tv when i was kid it used 2 show it

  • The difference I noticed is seeing Sam the dog. I was wondering what happended to him when he was last seen in the truck.

  • wat the hell ?? i remember seeing this scene in the movie....DVD , casette....whatever this scene was there.

  • yeh we've already come to a conclusion about this scene. it's in the american DVD but is NOT in the british release of the DVD.

  • well that was ...... very bloody

  • There was hardly any blood at all o:

  • Are you sure this is a deleted scene? I can remember this scene being in the movie when I first saw it.

  • that scene is not deleted here in Latin America show in the movie

  • I have the bare-bones DVD and this is all included in it.

  • Bloody Censors, This will probably be released as a special extended directors definitive edition in a few years time

  • its not on any of the U.K releases, including the 'directors cut.' it was cut out by the wankers at the BBFC.

  • This scene was cut out of the film by the BBFC for some reason. I'm not going to buy the DVD until they bring an uncut version out.

  • thank you finally sum1 who agrees with me. thers a director's cut but this scene has been cut out its gay.

  • I own the original Lethal Weapon 2 VHS... So I'm gonna check to see whether you're right or not. I could have swore this was on the theatrical release/original VHS release....

  • I finished reviewing the Lethal Weapon 2 movie on VHS and this scene was never cut to begin with. It was kept intact in the original VHS release and most original VHS releases are of the theatrical editions.

Conclusion: This is not a deleted scene.

  • Are you positively sure it's not on the DVD? Because it sure as hell is on the VHS.

  • Now I'm skeptical about the DVD b/c this scene is DEFINITELY (I guarantee my balls) in the VHS edition. I can't say about the theatrical release because I didn't see LW2 in theatres but I can say that the VHS version is of the theatrical release because I own it.

  • i used to own the VHS version and it wasnt on there. i now own the directors cut DVD and i am positive its not on there either. ok

  • Are you from the UK?

  • "As of 2007, all UK versions remove Riggs' revenge killings for the death of Rika. We fail to see him fighting and killing the two men on the dock after he discovers her body, (this scene shows Riggs first breaking a man's neck and then slamming a car door on anouther man's head) even though the film carries an 18 rating (this scene was shown in full on UK Channel 4 on May 17th 2007). The sequence where he enters a full clip into one of the villains is also shortened." - Wikipedia

  • I was gutted when seeing this deleted scene, as I hadn't set the Sky+ recorder for it. Luckily though, it was repeated on Film4, and I've saved it. This is by far, one of the two best death scenes in the entire film. The sooner the definitive UNCUT version gets released onto Blu-ray or DVD in the UK (with this and other deleted/shortened scenes), the better.

  • Too bad that's not a problem in the U.S.

  • Excuse me, too bad that's a problem in the U.K. and not the U.S.
