  • Just once, I want to eat a whole chicken off a sword

  • WTF is up with his right ears??

  • i dont care what economic plan you think everyone should be following, adding metalmusic was the funniest thing i've seen all week xD

  • There were more vikings in Norway

  • @airHaakon There were no such things as Sweden or Norway back then...

  • @Rqoiz Oh I didnt know you are specialize in Norse history! Please tell me more about the country of No name back in 1200 AD Please tell me that Noreg didnt exist because there is no possibility for a country to exist prior to the US history jeeeez!

  • @Rqoiz Thats right. because Sweden was called Svitjod back then. And still are in Icelandic.

  • VIIIIKIIIINGAR

  • Woman! Mmmmmh

    Iwonna rape.....

  • Vafan är detta?

  • I’m not a Colbert fan but this was funny! Go Vikings! It would have been better without the music though. You can barely hear what he is saying.

  • hey now, danish and norwegians were teh real vikings. swedes traveled across land to russia

  • @scullyy

Yes, we had to. Otherwise wouldn't entire Europe be plundered....

  • @scullyy heimkringla just a typical norwegian nationalistic piece of BS, there were many tribes and atleast we still bear their name, danes, swedes, geats, there are more runestones in sweden than any other place, birka the largest viking city was in swetheod, and danish and norwegian viking went easywards too, but how do you define danish and norwegian? jutish vikings cant be called danish just as geatish viking cant be called swedes yet jutland and geatland became aprt of these greater realms.

  • @scullyy @delamoxica Heimskringla even mentions danes and geats in stories taking place in continental europe during late antiquity, alongside more famous tribes like the goths and huns. And a recent study showed people from western Sweden are more susceptible to skincancer than in other parts of the coutry, the main theory states this is because of the irish slaves the viking brought back from whom we also decend. So "swedish" vikings went wherever the hell they wanted to go just like the others

  • @scullyy You can't draw a line between Sweden, Denmark and Norway back then. None of our countries existed during or before the viking era. And there are records of tribes in all areas going in all kinds of directions. Some tribes went east, some west, others south. The vikings were one people with many tribes and it is modern nationalism that makes you think otherwise.

  • @Tributorious Didnt know you studied Norse history lol you CAN draw a line between those countries because Noreg did exist in 1100 and 1200 ad. you are just pissed that the United states only have a 300 year lng history believe me I know

  • Colbert is to rasist to be funny.

  • @lanner95 Another dumbshit who's too stupid to see he's playing a CHARACTER ON A COMEDY SHOW ON COMEDY CENTRAL!

Yes, you are a dumbshit. Live with it.

  • That was incredibly METAL!

  • i believe most of them were Norwegians...

  • lolololol Colbert +amonamath kick ass

  • perkele...

  • Yes, Sweden used to be a viking. Now he's settled down. He's neutral with a wife and kid. ^_^

...And goes by Su-san. Please tell me there's some Hetalia fan who got this?!?!?!

  • @Katlynn888 Personally I have no damn clue what you're talkin about. But cheers anyway.

  • @Katlynn888

Yeah, I got it. But most of Hetalia is built on stereotypes. We aren't all blonde and wear glasses, for an example.

  • wow! and he got the myths right! and not the simple parts anyway

  • @Felinestance

He's so outrageous, you HAVE to admire that - & him.

  • Haha sicken lirare, han är asskön

  • Hahaha, ohhh Stephen. :3

  • Long live the Budini !

  • Oh my god!! I fucking love this guy!!!!!! He's the best.

"Of course...we'll need a loan from China."

  • swedish vikings did not plunder, they went east into russia and more or less founded russia. Norwegian vikings expanded to the north and western european coastline, aswell as service in the middle east as the king's guard, while the danish vikings where the primary warmongerers of the vikings, fighting for turf in England.

  • They did plunder. and they fought gruesome wars in the slavs lands to gain dominance there. Then many fought wars for the byzantine emperor.

wether or not the "RUS" were people from roslagen or wether they werent is a VERY political question. Don't say that to a russians face because he will piss off. (but it is prob the most likely theory).

  • @behemuth you are not totally right my friend!

  • I'm sure there are exceptions, but this is pretty much how it went down.

Norwegians: western explore and trade (some plunder in england and europe)

Sweedish: eastern exploration and trade, following the inland rivers and settled inland.

Danish: waged war against England because of a norwegian king that took power in england and was driven off.

As far as i can remember thats how it went down, tho im pretty sure i could be wrong somewhere

  • @behemuth Swedish also became known as fierce warriors that served the byzantine Emperor- Look up Vegyn ( I think that's how it was spelled)

  • @Anarchy101 Well so where norwegian and islandic vikings, it became somewhat popular among many vikings ^^j

  • @behemuth true, since swedes were to ones that discoverd america ( vingård ) and thats west! but we mosltly worked in the east. we founded russia!

  • @kakamorak ... what? it was the norwegians who discovered the american continent, iseland and greenland... not the swedes : X Leif Eriksson left a greenland settlement and discovered America around year 1000.. : / this is common knowledge.

  • @behemuth yes and its common knowledge that leif eriksson is a swede, who discovered america, 1011 and then get repelled back to sweden as he gave the indians milk, and the indians had never been exposed to the milks bacterias, got poisend and then thought that the swedes had poisend them meaningly. and swedish soldiers has been one of the most feared armies since 15000 years ago.

  • @kakamorak well, ether you're a huge bafoon and a liar, in case you're the former then just look up leif erikson on wikipedia...

if you're the latter then i guess you attempted to troll me.

  • @behemuth well of what i can recollect now that giving it a thought wasent he or his family banished/exiled from norway? then he most have been born somewhere else? and BTW, in scandinavia where all the same people? where all norse/scandinavian so it wouldent hurt me if he came from norway, but i still hold that atleast he have swedish lineage.

  • @kakamorak a norwegian cold be banished from norway.. its not like you're immune to banishment from your home country... just that every source i checked cite him as a norwegian, not a swedish viking... if you know otherwise, then please send me a pm with a link to where i can read up on the subject.

  • @behemuth well i gunienly dont care about if hes a norweigan or a swede, where both norse/scandinavians. but i have looked it up and he has of swedish lineage. his fathers fathers fathers father was very much indeed from iceland, who came from sweden, then his son moved to norway.... so you could say he is a swede but still a norwiagan.

  • @kakamorak ... nationality is not the skin of your color... if he were born and raised in norway with a norwegian mother and father, then he is norwegian... if his great grand dad were from kakbutokhikishire he would still be a norwegian person. also iceland were populated by norwegian settlers and their ancestors, which by your logic would make him even more norwegian.

    He is not a swede.

  • @behemuth oh realy? the first settlers where swedes. the island was called called Gardarsholm. And the swedish and nowegian culteres is so very much alike that we are basicly the same. I see myself as a scandivian at first then as a swede and lastly as a european. when i see a norwegan or a finnish person i see a scandivian, one like me, one of my ´´brothers´´

  • @kakamorak well yeah, Scandinavia have a shared cultural herritage that we should preserve, i just disagreed with your original statement :P

I've always been content with saying "a viking discovered" and let it be at that.

  • @behemuth well on this point i agree. so lets end this meening less arguing =)

  • @behemuth well i dont genuenly care if hes a swede or a norwegian, where both norse/scandinavian, but ive looked it up and hes fathers fathers fathers father was from iceland, but he lived in sweden before, then his children moved to norway. he came to iceland with Gardar Svavarssons decendents.

  • @behemuth

You seem to be pretty old since you can remember all that = )

  • @Fistfury42 notsureifcompliment..jpg : p

  • i am inlove with him:)

  • Colbert just gained my respect.

    Go vikings!

  • Yep thats how we do it

  • I loved the joke with music at the end ;).

  • Hey!

i'm from sweden and we were vikings. how do u think they came up with this idea? it's a big part of our local history

  • @Danovio

Wrong, sweds were viking... which isn't something to be proud of obviously sinch the killed so many innocent people!

Further on Amon amarth is as far from malehood as one can possible be and they aren't even vikings them self, grow up mainstream idiots. Listen to some bands that rather play heavy than try to have a heavy image! Long live the real shit as ENTOMBED, NAPALM DEATH, DISMEMBER; NASUM, MERCILESS.

I'm from sweden which I'm proud of.

  • Thats how we sweden roll..

  • LOL!

  • haha, this was epic

  • hey, speaking of pathetic, I just read your comment

  • only a homo would notice it. not that there is anything wrong with that

  • or a Woman!!!!...I can see where your mind automatically goes---again, I get it--you and littledick like this sort of thing in a guy--don't fight it--embrace it!....I don't!!

    I think he's a pathetic example and completely unattractive-weak- in many ways--(period)!!!

  • Haha truly epic!! :D

  • The Horn goes in your 'and , not on yer 'ead . Then fill Horn with Mead.

    Drink , and repeat often.

  • Wise advice, I'm gonna go try that now. :)

  • That was well put together.

  • and the vikings used nordic battle axes

  • ´´Being from Sweden, does not mean you know about old nordic weapons ^_^´´

No but i know the history of scandinavia

  • Vikings didn't have horns attached to their helmets... Norwegians reporting in =)

  • yes a medieval axe

  • yeah, not an viking axe.. medieval is more like it..

  • They used halberds in the 11th century.. Which is in the viking age..

  • lol that axe is not even Viking

    I am from Sweden (scandinavia)

  • It's a short Halberd. (kind of looks like the swedish 16th century version, but i'm no weapon expert)

  • Being from Sweden, does not mean you know about old nordic weapons ^_^

  • Yes it does so watch your mouth...or fingers...before I use my superiour swedish born knowledge together with whatever weapon I might come across to crack open your skull! By the gods I could manage it with a mere pencil!!

  • Does anyone know the name of the song played in the background?

  • Amon Amarth's album Fate of Norns

    'Pursuit of Vikings'.

  • I'm a swedish viking!! Haha!

  • Man this is the shit!!!

  • lol very good

  • Wow...Amon Amarth. Nice. Hail ODIN.

  • ever since i saw this thing ive been giving away viking speeches

  • lol I'm from denmark (scandinavia) I loved this! ROFLXD

  • haha i love this :]
