I'm very critical of tribute groups, I love this song, and I really LOVE this group doing it. I would love to sit and drink all night and listen to these talented people play. I have tickets to see Steely at the Toledo Zoo this summer, and now I will be thinking of this band when I see the real deal.
To all those people making negative comments about this post, I like to hear your rendition of a popular song in japanese or some other language. These guys do a far better job than some american bands that have tried to cover this tune. Rock On Shodan.
@BLUEMONkjd You've never heard people poke fun at Japanese pronunciation? You didn't laugh at the Christmas dinner scene in 'A Christmas Story?' F-you.
Good job. I love tribute bands and this one is unique. It may not have been perfect but none of these jerks criticizing it would have the balls or talent to get up and do this. Bravo.
Steely Dan is one of my favorite bands, and it's clear these guys love their music and have worked hard to make it sound good, so rock on, Shodan. The assholes making fun of their pronunciation can eat a bag of dicks.
As an aside, some of the comments make me ashamed to be an American, I swear. I had to stop reading after the 2nd page. Wise up, you jerks (you know who you are). >:(
Hey, don't listen to the jealous idiots cutting you down. I'm American and you guys have done a great job. I have been playing SD on guitar for 30 years and it's no easy task. Bravo!
Hohoho, yeah, totally agree. However, very amusing. One question there: what's "g(l)aphite and gwitta"... never heard of that before? And also, where is "Palis" to where it takes 90 minutes from NY?? Oh, and my new idol is the tall tenor player. What a rocker! Hohohoho!!!
dont thumb down the wok comment .. lol hilarious by the way, i have never heard anyone cover steely dan so well, no easy task.... and i have seen them live twice (the real SD)
I will say it again.. Why must all the Japanese people copy everything?? Is it a habit over there?
This is a joke right? I can´t watch any longer, it will completely destroy the original version. The saxofonist is warming up backstage on his bad ass solo, or having a mp3 in ears??
One must be proud if copied by someone else. This guys are just doing a cover of the original song so they can make they way they feel it. No need to be a duplicate of the original. Wouldnt make sense.

I can't believe you guys are making fun of this band. These people went to great lenghts to reproduce the music of Steely Dan & DF, & do it well....With respect & love. So what if they can't pronounce the words perfectly. English is not their 1st language.
Great job Steely Shodan. Keep on doing what you love.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Oh, Oh, you shouldn't, but ha ha ha ha ha ha ha . This is the funniest thing I've seen for months. On that twain all gwafi' n' gwidder. Ha ha ha. Oh I'm crying now.
What these guys are doing is about great, as far as I can hear. Way to go Shodan!

Great cover! It sounds like the song is a little out of the singer's range though, if they dropped the pitch a little it would be excellent.
Does anyone else think the singer even looks a little like Donald Fagen?

@EnvelopeGenerator He definitely looks like Fagan

I've heard that. . ."imitation is one of the greatest acknowledgements."
Don't know who these guys are but, they're a God aweful imitation of a great band.
And to top it off they have the audacity to call themselves "Steely Sho-dan???"
What a disgusting shame.
Long live the one and only. . .Steely Dan Band!

Prefer Howard Jone's cover of this.... Donald Fagan is awesome as well....
Good attempt by this band, the instruments have it going on... as a second language, it's a good job.
