Mayer has a very expensive sound. He is using a two-rock signature amp, which is expensive. Also the mid scooped pick ups are a big part of the sound. Hard to get. You can see if you can find someone who makes mid scooped ones and put them in a normal strat. maybe in a road worn strat. His pedals here is most likely; Keeley Katana, Keeley modded Boss Blues Driver, Ibanez 808 tube screamer, and maybe a T-rex replica delay. Amp reverb. Think he is using amp overdrive or the Katana in this vid.

(i'm a crazy mayer fan, so don't get the idea that i'm dissing him) but during this song (at least before the solo) he just 'riffs'. it kind of adds unneccicary noise to the song. the solo is great, but it's a habit he gets in to, particularly when nervous or unprepared. He does the same thing in the michael jackson tribute show, playing "Human Nature", the whole thing is just 'mayer riffs', with the exception of the start i cannot stand it.
