  • I forgot to say nice vid though, haha

  • a different look at it. you should consult your teacher. peace.

  • You should ask your teacher before you take this advice/idea, lol but the way i have learned pao chuan is to not raise up in your stance as you apply it. I know it is supposed to represent the fire element but when fighting you really want to keep your root. fire has to aspects the whispy outsides and top and the deep solid core and base. When you are hitting something solid/try a bag/ if you raise up in your stance like that, you will be off balance. Again though, your school may have

  • hmm, now that you mention it. You are right. Thats the things about internal art, you must always be rooted. Thnx for pointed that out. Ahahah, thats my years of external martial arts leaking out haha. Thanks again. Train hard. later

  • @ironrogue let me add: also we must consider the yin yang principal, for every action there must be its opposite in equal force. The rootedness allows you to 'push' (not the best term.) when you extend your striking limb. Back and forwards, out and in, left and right. if you notice xingyi uses this to maximum efficeincy. So not only is being rooted important its how to generate power, their has to be an equal opposing force. Keep training every one :)
