@SocksNsnipers Why? I have a cat who had its jaw and eye socket completely smashed to bits when it was hit by a car. Took her to the vets to have her fixed up and she's the happiest cat in world now. Sure, they'll go through pain during the 'fixing' process, but if long term results are positive, why shouldn't you try?

@SocksNsnipers Yeah, and it can still be fixed. I'm sure the vet wouldn't suggest having it fixed up if it was never going to work. Sure, if the dog was really old or there was little chance of recovery, it would be understandable to have the animal put down. Animals have recovered from cleft palate damage, or cleft palate in general a countless number of times. This situation is no different; if the dog wasn't going to survive, it would have died at birth from cleft palate.
