  • I play requiem

but im realy interested in this game

  • Yeah, the Manifestations are totally broken, but the basic premise of Geist was good. I particularly enjoyed how they didn't go all-out morbid and depressing (Wraith, anyone?) with this one, but rather they made an effort to show the positive side of death.

  • @ProfessionalWhiteGuy wraith might have been depressing, but not morbid, or why do you think it's morbid?

  • @theBeorn

Well, you're a ghost, and you are up against other ghosts in Ghostworld...

  • i think the basic idea was good but everything else well sucked

  • even when i was scripting this review i felt like i was trying to convince my self that it was better than i though t it was. the really bad thing that was overlooked when they made the game was how it would translate into actual role playing.

  • the first part of this made me lol to the second part i agree they talk about "as synergy goes down your control goes down" but they dont have any mechanics for this

  • @Asuka321

Well, you can surely roleplay out the Sin-Eater losing control. Think of it this way; you have a voice in your head, and at 7 Synergy, it whispers, but at 3 Synergy, it's screaming at you to do awful things, and you are having serious trouble not bending to it's will.

  • geist=fail

  • i didnt think it was that bad but it didnt meet the standards of white wolfs preivious games

  • It's interesting but i don't know how "balanced" it is. Geist manifestations pwn disciplines or gifts. A Mage, with prep, could stand against a Geist. Other supers are pretty screwed.

  • Pretty interesting review. I am really not into the entire WoD scene, as I am really more into the story. The story for the entire WoD seems to be spread about all the different books. Still the review went pretty well. Look forward to seeing your views on 4th Ed D&D....

  • sorry, i dont think i'll be doing anymore 4E reviews, and the one i did already isnt very good, truly sorry

  • Not a problem, MC. Do not worry about it. Thanks to you and the cap'n, I have been thinking about taking another look at WOD. I currently enjoy both versions of Exalted, which I think is an excellent game. Keep going, you are doing a great job....

  • @DragonmagRT : One thing to keep in mind with WoD, there is oWoD (Old World Of Darkness) and there is nWoD (New World Of Darkness). oWoD had more of metaplot/story to it going through the books then nWoD. You can play the game with just the core nWoD. Geist, Werewolf, Vampire, Changeling, Mage, Hunter are all just splat books that give you a way to play supernaturals. Of course you will need the core to get the most out of the splats. The books themselves are good reads though

  • and it works relatively well with other material besides the fact that the sin eaters have a sort of contempt for other factions

  • actually the game is not depressing at all and the sin eaters themselves have a kind of happy go lucky nature around them.

  • Hmmm.... might have a closer look at it then, as it may interest my players, whom all have that impish nature to them.... Thanks!

  • true it definitely fits a specific nature of players because its a lot more free than playing as a mortal who has to keep track of a job and a small health bar

  • Very good review, you have come along leaps and bounds; keep up the good work.

Sounds like you have the basics of reviewing down, remeber that you should always looks for 1 good and 1 bad thing in everything.

  • thanks I think promethean will be the next review
