  • Hi! Have you heard about - fast abs magic (do a google search)? Ive heard some unbelivable things about it and my GF got ripped 6 pack abs and lost a ton of fat with it.

  • He reminds me on the swiss family robinsons lol

  • I love the way you think. wonderfull

  • Raw food is a popular word that can attract many... the mucusless diet is more pertinent to overall health for our entire species, I agree with your video.

  • good video, good point.

  • My meat eating friends will agree with you.

  • Thank you very much for your reply.

  • I was told that RAW food diet has no meat.

Why no meat? Every since the cave man days man has always eating meat. Even back when time started Man ate Raw Fruit, Raw veggies and a little meat.

    Is meat bad for us???

I'm all for the Raw food diet but the no meat is a little heavy. I'm Greek for God sake. lol :)

  • @montiecristo About meat being bad for us... this is highly debated. I have studied nutrition a lot and tried a lot of different styles of eating. After everything I have learned and experienced it is best for me to not eat meat, and no, protein is not an issue.. Aside from the benefits it has on your body (there are lots) it is best for the environment too. It takes way more resources in the end to get meat to your local store. Watch a few documentaries on it - food inc & forks over knives

  • @montiecristo red meat is bad for us, but raw fish is wonderful.

  • Hallo Ka, thank you so much for posting this video. After being shoulded all the time by some vocal judgmental, dogmatic raw foodists, which was totally counterproductive, it's such a relief to hear a message of tolerance and peace. :) It really helps me to relax AND stick to raw foods. Hearing I have to or else I'm a bad person and/or will ruin my health did NOT help me, on the contrary. Thank you very much for the positive, compassionate approach, and much love to you! <3

  • I am practically on the 80/10/10 fruitarian lifestyle but it's 80% raw 20% cooked... I usually have one meal a day of vegetables in a soup or healthy stir fry and some quinoa.

All I have noticed is everything in my life getting better, including my relationship. Sharing a nice raw food meal with a person you love is very intimate.

The thing is though, there is universal truisms that governs reality. And that is nature, and from this perspective nature says eat raw plant based foods. Simple.

  • So true. I wish more raw fooders could take on this balanced approach instead of the vegan/raw extremism I see a lot of. For me, it's all about balance. Mostly raw, vegetarian, some warm cooked comfort foods, NO guilt and eating and creating meals with joy. :)

  • Don't be sorry to say it. It is the open heart that is the MAIN ingredient in Human well-being. You are wise to recognize that once the enlightenment becomes dogma, you are trapped. Find your own path to your highest wellness. Prepare your food with love and wisdom. Peace and all good ..... dp

  • I can't help being a bit skeptical about this raw food diet. I'm Costa Rican and I think I can live with the idea of eating fruit and some vegetables, but meat ? Do you eat raw meat ?

  • @qmontoya No, raw food diet does not include meat at all. It is usually a complete plant based lifestyle.

  • @ACLogikel

raw everything . or raw vegan gotta specify

  • Ka, you are so intelligent, wise, and gentle.

I really like your view on things. I have read a book that sounded like they were getting obsessive like calling companies to know if it is 100% raw or not, and bashing everything blah blah. But you are totally right. We need to relax. Life is suppossed to be simple. It is very true that we all have our own paths. As a vegan right now, for example, I really respect native americans. Sure they hunted, and wore fur like crazy, but they did it fairly.

  • ok-maybe, I understand better what you are saying-thanks for sharing-it is really appreciated

  • I think that 100% raw is very optimal, and a goal to strive for, but that every single step towards that goal is a positive change, and that if 100% raw is not possible for whatever reason for someone, that is ok too. Simply increasing our consumption of raw, unprocessed foods, and minimizing our consumption of processed foods to any degree is a good thing. it is always important to be open-minded and loving of ourselves and others no mater what decisions are made.

  • Very insighful and relieving comments! Thank you and all the best!

  • Well said, I am adding more raw, as our ancestors obviously ate raw fruits and anything they could grab, and they cooked meat because it taste better that way! We r omnivores! It's a matter of percentages for folks-WHY CAN some angry vegans(not acatully raw) but I've met so me truly angry vegans. Some can do %100 raw, it's detoxifying, long term ITS' NOT HEALTHY for all to continue, but some % is good. FIND THAT BALANCE. YoginiKala

  • Totally! Thank you! We need more people with this mindset

  • I love the way you are thinking on this.. thank you .. :)

  • Very intelligent video: interesting and beautifully explained.

  • I have Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder and I totally see what you're talking about. I'm going raw a bit at a time because it's so easy for me to become obsessed with the raw food research, and then i find that i get stressed, which defeats the whole purpose of living on raw food

  • great video ka! what kind of exercise do you do stay in shape and build your muscle? you look very healthy.

i have been eating mostly raw for 3 years now. when i first changed diet i lost a lot of weight and strength. now i have gained all of it back, but i'm not quite as muscular as i used to be. i generally have good energy and i exercise often, doing some free weights and push ups. but my body doesn't seem to want to add much muscle mass.

    thoughts and ideas?

  • Great message Ka! Wonderful, Wonderful!!!

  • This is so true! We, as people, expect folks to have open minds when it comes to our beliefs, etc. But then we, who eat a raw food diet, close our minds believing that others can't have beliefs about their own diets. Very true!

  • Great thinking. Thanks Ka!

  • Great video ! Sometimes people find their truth and what works for them and try to impose it on everyone else like it's the only truth...that's the kind of mentality that creates wars! I feel that it's more important to feel good about what you're eating and also how you're living and be in touch with your body to know what it needs...I know right away when I eat something that's not good for me and something that gives me energy and makes me feel light, it's a very personal thing !

  • Very good.

    Thank you Ka.

  • OMG, I agree with you whole heartedly... I actually recently mentioned this concept in one of my videos.. about the spirituality side of things that raw food eating wasn't the only way to get there. I've been vegetarian for almost 15 years and raw food since Feb(juice feasting) but I've just seen so many arguments and browbeating, it just creates a totally distorted picture of what healthy eating is about. It can't be healthy if you are struggling against it. or fighting wars for it. etc.

  • Wonderful video! Love!

  • AWESOME video about something that is SO needed!! I have been on/off raw again a few times in the most recent years and I understand the impulse to want everyone eating raw food. It feels so incredible. But that ONLY alienates people. Whether it's raw food or politics, child rearing or lifestyle choices this idea that you are talking about is FUNDAMENTALLY applicable. There is NO right way for EVERYBODY! If we could learn and apply this to all subjects, then we truly can evolve. BRILLIANT!

  • @DivaFantastique - with the exception of personal religious belief - I really agree with you; especially on the foodie front :-)

  • brilliant video....and much needed. thank you.

  • Being narrow minded will cause enemies. I know this as truth since I started back on the raw vegan journey a few years ago. Now I am high raw and my health has improved and I feel fantastic most of the time.

My journey started 20+ years ago when I ate raw produce and fish then went to a sad diet for about 6 years and nearly killed myself with food.

Now back for good on the healthy path and almost a 100lbs lighter.

  • Love to you brother for your truth and clarity of wisdom to see the need to get this important message out there.

Without this understanding and this approach to life the raw food diet is nothing, balance of food and balance of soul is a must for a vital life.

    Love and blessings

  • You are absolutely right, Ka. poisonous relationships are worse than poisonous food.

  • Comment removed

  • Aloha Ka, That took courage brother, and of course you are exactly correct. We should only consume the optimal foods, not become CONSUMED by them. This is a really heartfelt video. I've posted a video myself I did a few weeks ago in regards to the problems of limitation, restriction and dogma through any facet of life.

  • This is an amazing video and extremely important for anyone looking to upgrade their lifestyle through diet.

I have researched into adopting healthier eating habits for the last few years. I have always been concerned about going too high in raw because I've always been real skinny and have trouble keeping weight on despite what I eat so I would probably not do well eating 100% raw. I've come to the conclusion that somewhere between 60-80% is where I'll end up.

  • This is an amazing video, you are totally right. Some people just like the label "raw foodist", it is the same with vegetarians and vegans, they really want to define themselves that way and to be an example for everyone else and they see it as a competition, they think they will win if they eat 100% raw. I don't think that's healthy at all, it isn't about the label or about winning, it's about making a real difference in your life, and even 70% or 60% raw food will make a difference...

  • we love that you took a chance and posted a controversial video. some hardcore raw foodies have blinders on and see nothing in the peripheral. it is important to be always open, learning, growing, etc... we can really KNOW something for sure, all we know is what we feel physically and in our hearts. that is our truth and we should follow that; not a dogma. thanks again!

  • awesome video...we are right with you! :) thank you so much...

  • I am enjoying raw foods more and more but I can say I won't become 100% as there are still some foods I enjoy that are cooked. I think you are right, it is dangerous to your mind and spirit and thus to your health to become dogmatic and get into a state of blame and shame. If you are going to eat 100% raw vegan, enjoy it as well. Different strokes for different folks.

  • Blessings to you. :)

  • I am glad you said this. I am trying to eat more raw and I would like to transition to raw, but I am not sure if I want to be 100 percent raw or not, although the more raw foods I eat the more I like them.

But I appreciate the letting go of the pressure to be perfect. Thank you.

  • well said ka! you are one of the few raw guys looking healthy!

100% i feel too sensitive, spacey, lazy, food/health obsessed, neurotic/perfectionist.

im also feeling too dropped out.

having said that i eat very high raw and would like to eat more normally (80% raw). i worry about deficiencies on raw vs whole food diet.

  • Thanks, Ka. I totally agree. I need to accept everyone for their choices even if I disagree with their viewpoint. I went 100% raw in the last few months and feel great. I don't try to change the people around me. If any one asks me,I have lost 35lbs and my skin is clear & shining, I tell them. If they want more information great, if they don't, I let it go. Who made me the judge? Thanks, my goal is to live in peace and arguing doesn't fit in to it. Hope you are having a fabulous journey! Peace!

  • Thanks, Ka, for the video. I agree with your position. I am looking forward to advancing to raw foods. Two years ago I became vegetarian, felt better and lost a little weight. Last year I turned to veganism and felt a LOT better and lost much more weight. It turns out I had an allergy to dairy I didn't realize. Now this year I am going to try for an 80% raw diet. Another video blogger, Kevin Gianni, espouses a "high-raw diet" and being comfortable with what works for you.

  • Thank You so much for this video!...I have been trying to make a 100% transition to a raw food diet for the last several months...from eating chicken/fish vegetables...no meat or pork in over 20 years...but have been beating myself up because I can't seem to commit to it every day..eating mostly fish/raw veggies now...so thank you again!...I now know that this is a "journey" for me and not to be so hard on myself!

  • why must we be defined by what we eat? if people look pale and unhealthy, they should get some sunshine!

  • Ah, I want to be where u are! :D

  • Thank you

  • I know people who have converted to 100% raw food and never looked back. Most people, I believe, ease into it. I started just by experimenting with smoothies about 5 months ago. I'm now about 50% raw. For me this is not a "diet" in the way most people use the word. It's more of a lifestyle and way of thinking (open thinking). I am loving it and I don't feel restricted. Super video!!! Thank You so much!!

  • You are very right about this my friend!!

    Thank You for sharing!

    <3

  • I agree completely with this video. Dogmatic rigidity and forced adherence to any routine does nothing to improve the quality of one's life.

  • I like your message, Ka. I've been exploring the raw food lifestyle since May 2009. I get turned off by those who expound the message that you MUST be a 100% raw vegan to be healthy. Very few people will choose that path. The majority just want to make better choices most of the time. I like your attitude. You are 100% raw and think that is the best way for you, but you're open to other people chosing a lower percentage of raw.

  • This is exactly what I tell people who come to me, asking for advice. (Since I changed my diet to about 90% raw, I have lost 40lbs.) So, its natural that people around would want to know my "SECRET".

I tell them that, its not a DIET and Theres no secret! I do the best that I am able to do without implementing some rigid restriction on myself.

    That way theres no fail!

Just DO what you Can, and thats alright!

  • I believe in 100% raw vegan foods I have for almost 9 years. But it is not my buisness what other people eat. But I do think if you make your money off raw then you should be 100%.

  • Humans did not actually evolve to be 100% raw vegan . They evolved eating 5-10% of their calories from eating insects like ants , termites , and also eating grub worms etc . I think if people ate 5 % of their diet from goat milk or fish some other fairly clean animal protein , they would be just fine . Good video . I agree with your point though , if you preach it then you should live it .

  • not intending to rationalize not being 100% raw but...I am consciously avoiding extremely rigid paradigms of all types at this point in my life. I want to transition into the second half of my life feeling not only healthy but open, childlike. I have always been such a know-it-all that its refreshing to just go into my days like, " wow, I know nothing... its great and exciting"

  • I agree

  • I completely agree. Im so glad someone in the raw community spoke out about this.

Everyone has heard of the placebo effect, so what happens if the person believes that cooked food will poison and kill them? They start to feel even worse because of the -ve energy they THEMSELVES are creating.

Eating should be fun and guilt free wether the meal is cooked or uncooked. I believe that a diet of 40-60% Raw is enough for v.good health maybe 80-100% in the summer or for deep healing/detox.

  • ich habs gefunden grade hier, rafood und secrettraining.! ( : Danke

  • Great show!

  • Thank you! I am eating more and more raw, but realised early on that going 100% raw would be setting myself up for failure and rebellion at the limitations. Good to see that more 100% rawers are relaxing, if not for themselves, than for others interested in good food and improving health.
