This guy does awesome, but he does the intro on the wrong frets. It sounds okay, but it's a lot higher than it should be. Even if you watch Josh in live videos, Josh plays it on 7, 4, and 6.

The reason that it sounds higher is because I used an octave effect. But Josh does that live too, except for acoustic ofcourse.

No the song is most defenitely not in Drop D, that way the rhythm would be we out of tune. All of the songs off of riot are in Drop C# except for possible Fences or We Are Broken.

Well I dont have to become big, but being in a band and being able to live off it, even if it means playing small crowds every day really would be the best thing in the world. So yeah, I guess it's a bit more than a hobby. But I really enjoy just playing guitar and writing music with my band. As soon as we find a good singer we'll start playings shows as much as we can and I'm sure I'll love that even if it's for like 10 people :P

Same way as you did and they've been nagging me with claims aswell. I dont know how they can be so retarted because nobody who would normally buy a song on itunes or in a store will actually download the mp3 file of my screwed up cover and put that on his ipod. If anything I'm giving bands more fans because people might find out about thru watching my covers.

But anyways, you could always play along to a liveversion of the song. That probably wont have copywrite.

No u dont need them. I dont know what amp you're getting but the only effect you're really gonna want is overdrive or distortion, it's what makes your guitar sound heavier. But that's basically standard on every guitar amp. So no u dont really need any effect pedals, at least when you're starting.
