this is a poor guide. you dont want to pull on the cigar while you light it. rather light it while still in your hand, letting the fringe and starting edges get a nice even light, THEN take your first pull.
@SuperComplainer The smoke from cigars is alkaline and the smoke from regular cigarettes is acidic. The alkaline makes it easier for the mouth to absorb it and therefore no need to inhale it. For a more chemical explanation search cigars and alkaline. It really has nothing to do with cigars being filterless but how the tobacco is made.
As most folks know and stated in the top comment, a lighter is not the way to light a cigar, a regular match is way better, or cedar tree.
This is not the proper way to light a cigar, your toasting step should be separate from the lighting step to keep from scorching the tobacco as well as to establish an even burn. Also, the comments about matches and butane lighters are correct, but honestly I've never had a problem with a bic ruining my cigar...I just wouldn't use an oil lighter.
@tnv1995 is it true about the matches like when u light up a cigar with it it doesnt loose from its aroma and if o do it with lighter its not the same?
@Roy9030 Wait until the smoulder from the friction match extinguishes or light the tail of a second match if you only have short matches. Smoker's matches are meant for pipes not cigars, you are better off with cook's matches which are longer.
Anyone serious about cigars should take a look at this deal thompson cigar has taking place right now, for $20 I just received a bunch of variety of cigars which was completely worth it! Thompsoncigar-PH16.Co.Cc
Good thorough video. But, I noticed that she used a bic lighter. Those lighters are not ideal for firing up a cigar because the fluid used by those lighters may not burn cleanly. Instead use a butane lighter. Butane burns cleanly and minimizes the risk of it affecting the taste of the cigar.

That girl cut off to much, forgot to toast it and held it like a cigarette. Handle your cigars with respect, don't kill them like in this video.

@hristijank2 a lighter's fuel compromises the integrity of a cigar's aroma. use wooden matches or lit ceder.
