proistic maybe because once u destroy it u can still go back to earth by using the teleporter and can walk around fine OR if u look closely when u destroy it u can see a chunk taken out maybe on that OR lets not forget every map is in a different time period it could be back in time OR it could be a whole new story

a) they will set the maps before the earth was destroyed

b) they won't continue with the storyline, they will just make maps that mean nothing.

c) they will start a new story with different characters.
