CD is available on amazon.com under the the title of: "Here's A Song (You Might Have Missed)" from Great Record Finds for abut $15. it includes both verisions of this tune, this verision, plus an additional that is overdubbed or double tracked. I was amazed to find it...it's beautifully haunting. In 1974 Cass had just finshed playing 2 weeks at Royal Albert Hall in London (sold out gigs) but she died from a heart attack, she was age 32. She is survived by a daughter.
never heard this before -what could be better than Spoonful AND Cass Elliott? Not much. Hey, anyone know what happened to Zal Yanovsky's Guild Thunderbird electric guitar? Is it viewable anywhere? Cool as country water.
John, just WHEN are you coming to UK to play Darling Be Home Soon etc?
@spacepatrolman It was neither drugs nor a ham sandwich. The coroners report indicated that she died of a heart attack. No food was found in her esophagus. Her daughter has fought those rumors all her life. Thirty five years later they still persist.
Excellent mix my friend Thank you very much for posting it I made an MP3 of it for myself and am playing it over & over again.... YOU ROCK.... RIP Cass Elliot
Equisite song. Never heard this version with Mama Cass on vocals before She really does it justice (as one would logically expect from an artist of her quality). Her voice has a lovely rich timbre and a deep heartfelt quality to it. Love the photo of the wonderful Zal Yanovsky whose guitar solo on this differs from the Spoonful's version - its much longer and even better !
It is such a treat to hear this for the fiirst time. Many thanks for posting it.
Thanks for posting this song. Mezmerizing song ! I wish they would play it a few times on the radio....I think it could be a hit some 45 years later ! The 60's had so much talent, the likes of which we haven't seen again !
Wow! What a colorful video! Very nice mix, as always, i can say that's a true artwork! The whole picture editing is fantastic! Don't know, but you have a talent how to make videos magic :)
Is this a back-up vocal w/ the lead vocals cut out? Amazing how it sounds so good and complete that it could be the lead. What a pro! Cass sounded best when she just sang naturally (like this) without trying to sound legit.
BEAUTIFUL. A leisurely carnival ride thru the 1960s with a jazzy and improved soundtrack. Soulful, captivating, and bright as a summer's day. You transform a song of resignation and regret and upset the meaning of "the end ... the end ... the end." We know it is the beginning of forever for Cass in our hearts. It is a wonderful addition to our Cass collection. You know, you and Chris from Lithuania are the torch-bearers for our great torch singer.
Wow, thank you so much for your awesome comments..I'm flattered! Such a great responsability to be a torch-bearer, for our great torch singer! never aimmed that, I just try to show my vision over Cass' work, for what she represented to me and for what she still represents to all of us.She was and will always be an icon for the 60's sound, for the summer of love, for the good vibes, for all the optimistic dreams of that era, when Mamas and Papas were the first to beckon us about it. Thanks a lot!
Where can the orginal '65 recording be found? Is it on a legit disc somewhere or a boot? Anyone? Thanks!

Wonderful, brings tears to my eyes, Mama Cass where are you now when we need you the most? Today's pop music is so much talentless crap.
