@EasyDoesIt61 I also think rodney is 1 of the most amasing skaters, but both rodney and hawk are on a similar plateau .....they both came in the early 80's with the bones brigade they both have contributed something like 70% of the tricks out there, but Hawk was the poster boy of skating from like 1986, and although Rodney was awsome he didn't find real noteriety until Plan B days circa 91-92

@EasyDoesIt61 I think a lot of people would agree tony hawk is big because of his video games. people like me, who skated for years before the first tony hawk game came out would say he got big because he was a bad ass skater with great style and tech. He was just smart enough to put his name on a video game to fill his pockets ; ) one of the few skaters to make a celebrity wage. I envy him.

No stance is the next step to not using your feet but using your hands to do all the tricks, flick the board into impossible in a handstands then land on it with your hands. OVercoming the transition of switch and regular footing....and just learning tricks because you can rather than approaching a trick as "Switch" whatever...so basically he doesn't have a stance..and the difficulty the mind puts to a trick because its switch...is no longer there...you have unraveled your stance.

Kinda like bruce lee's jeet kun do principle.

@jmbretter he skated so much he was wearing out his bones and having weird build ups in it, so badly he couldnt even do simple stuff that required that motion. but he was able to learn switch and do that, and he wondered why switch was so much harder? a switch kickflip is still a kick flip, you're just in opposite stance. so he trained himself to have no stance
