  • Yes, that's Frank!!

Have a look at his nose!!

Then have a look at his...

    Those were my wildest dreams!

  • genial!!!

  • beautifull

  • Nicely done

  • thanks for all the zappa you rule thank you so much for the upload

  • Damn, i wanna play like that

  • The Man was a GENIUS!

  • Yeeeeeez I was There

  • Saw FZ at the Ahoy in 1979. 3 hour concert, no breaks or intermissions and sheer genus. The encore was over 30 minutes long.

  • I can still remember the sound of Frank Zappa and the Mothers in the background of my childhood - playing on the stereo - my baby sitters and their boyfriends in the rec room... I wish I could go back.

  • cool tone.. what guitar does he use here.. SG ?

  • zappaholics unite

  • All of his guitar solos were true genius, one of a kind..There will never be another Frank Zappa.

  • Zappa taught me so much about phrasing. Whenever I play people tell me that I must know my scales, I tell them I just play what I would want to hear. The fretboard is a series of roadways and a song is juat a destination. There are, of course, multiple ways to get to places via road. I like to think of Zappa as the kind of guy who would take the scenic route regardless of how long it takes.

  • Oh man...once he starts...shit hot!

  • My guitar teacher once told me (after several weeks of musical theory lessons about playing "outside" - trying to get a fusion-y sound, etc) "Remember when I first told you to know these scales?" I replied, "Yeah..". And he essentially told me to throw them out the window. Now I understand why playing all the notes can be important and to always make sure I eventually end back on the scale. I think Zappa was the master of playing outside to develop a great sound. Train your ears, you'll get it

  • THE greatest guitar solo ever to be heard on planet heart - and that's it.

  • Wow. Such brilliant phrasing.

  • As I get older- Zappa just gets better

  • wow....what makes you say that?

  • if he played as good as vinnie percussionalizes well.......(im glad he and jeff berlin show em whats wat. takes more than pizza and coffee to raise 5 kids.

  • @wwvvwwwvvv Yes because you could do better.. everyone can be a critic but none can back it up lol

  • Moraisito Ametista - The best...

  • Hes sounds like someone throwing a multitude of guitars through a wood chipper

  • Not the best solo, but definentley good

frank zappa one of a kind.

  • Most Beautiful.... Great sound quality!!

I love the Transylvania Boogie influence.

    Thank you for sharing!

Do you have the rest of the song?

  • Beautiful.

  • been listening to zappa for yrs..first time I've crossed this solo...had to listen twice...thanks frank...im am completely satisfied....

  • that was beautiful - thats how I feel after a great Frank solo the one on burnt weeny is my favourite

  • i love zappa but i though the first half was shockingly bad

  • Zappa is my number one influence in life, in music, politics, and the general outlook on life. Most likely the greatest overall musician who ever lived, and that's not just an opinion, if you look at his life achievements in music, it will be difficult to disagree.

  • Indeed, Zappa was the master of guitar feedback and incorporating it into complex phrases

  • anybody notice how much he looks like albert E....!

  • @btyremanable

    Totally agree!

  • the phrasing is absolute genius, the way he gets controlled sustained feedback is unlike anyone else before or since...

  • @btyremanable robert fripp had some INSANE sustain skills before he started using sustainer pickups, check out some of the late 60's early 70's king crimson and the frippertronics albums.

  • @btyremanable Not sure that dissonant modality equates to genius, although I have to admit he has some killer technique. As regards "controlled sustained feedback" - I guess you've never listened to Jimi Hendrix before??

    Jeff Beck either??

  • @leedrennan without dissonance there is no harmony, they can't survive without each other

  • would have liked to hear the rest of it. I always want more from frank. Is this on a bootleg? He was/is the best.

  • At what?

    Tom

  • cool Frank. Thanx!

  • zappa! :D

  • warm hands on a cold night.

  • s not raining

  • More people need to check zappa out. He is the greatest composer ever in my personal opinion. This guy was so far from any of the main stream that it was just truely spectacular that he achieved such a status.

  • ...well!!! :o)

  • Oh do please continue.

  • Zapping r.i.p.

  • bien zappa bien.... me hace acordar al profesor cachiota, tenia la misma cara larga y flaca. zonzeras

  • Zappa is one of my top five favorite things in life. I am so pleased that his music exists. Can't bear the thought of having existed in a non-Zappa period of history.

  • @NameNotaNumber i find it even more sad to think that he was basicly murdured.....

such talent, such style destroyed just because he stood for what he believed.......

    truely sad....

  • @mokaey Who are you talking about being murdered?

  • @ambientgreg

frank zappa was denied any good docters because of his influence...

and was maybe lied to about the cancer by the docter he went to....

  • Beautiful.

  • That took me places. thank you timmo.

Music is the Best - FZ

  • this is a treasure!!

  • Nice. Thanks.

  • Cool sculpture....Looks like he´s out to kill someones mama with that thing

  • Ship Ahoy - not - but sort of - from 2:00 onwards - extremely extremely and very extremely moving...just fucking wow!

  • wow...beautiful

  • simply one best of the best, a true musical genius and a great comediant

  • che genio...

  • il messer che si fa beffe di lor signor.

  • agree with seechabboy. frank would be rippins all the wall street DC guys new assholes, no one else had the balls to do it, and make great f'in music in the process

  • Beautifull in the extreem. Thanks for posting.

  • pj232pj: I guess it was just another token of his...but I wish to fuck this stuff was available on cd - perhaps we should collectively get together and bribe Timmo's ass and get him to release this on cd...I mean, where the hell does he get this stuff, huh? Thxs again T!

  • I used to have the entirety of this show on my erstwhile computer. Now, I love Logeman's drumming during the written parts of the songs, but he has no clue how to respond during Zappa' solos; he's certainly no match for Vinnie's rythmic fecundity, but at the very least, he's more inspiring than Jimmy Carl Black.

    Ruby

    XoX

  • Ah, Ruby, your stupendous writing abilities did not go unnoticed!

Frank Zappa...out of this world! Utter genius.
