  • With respect, that may be how the system is supposed to work; that's not necessarily how it does work. I know this from personal experience. Even if the suit gets thrown out, the innocent defendant receives NO compensation for the time and income he lost defending the meritless case not to mention the pain and suffering inflicted on him by the lawyer's error. Is it asking too much to expect an attorney to compensate the innocent victim of HIS mistake?

  • Tort "reform" is a despicable rip-off, robbing consumers of the right to defend themselves. We need REAL health care reform, not protection for billionaires.

  • @PrisonerNumber9653

The next time you get sued and get your life turned upside down by an ambulance chaser after you've done nothing wrong tell me what a rip-off tort reform is.

  • @hushpuckena I will. Because if it's an "ambulance chaser" the suit has no merit, it is THROWN OUT. Tort reform robs people of their rights to a trial by jury. Why do you hate our American justice system as put forth by the founders?

  • Tort reform does work and does save money!

Tort reform in Texas resulted in 57% increase in Dr's returning to the state or starting practices in the state.
