@obxemt I agree totally... You can hardly EVER understand what it is saying... Here in Wayne county where i volunteer we are switching to a total TEXT service like iWarn... no more voice dispatch as of Jan 1. 2011

@clrickels That's retarded, so when the power goes out, cell towers go down what are you going to do??, My county (Orange County, NY) has Voice paging and if we want to our option we can use text messaging also. Many use it as a secondary way of paging, but it is not completely reliable. The system it's errors like this past week, got all my text's from last week two days ago. Not to mention the cell services mess up the text's thinking the text is spam. Text Service is unreliable.

@clrickels as i wrote before, wasn't completely done with what i was saying.

The text service is great, but is not reliable!!!, Along with my pager i also have the text sent to me on my phone. Most times i'll get it, 60% before the pager trips, 10% after the pager, 30% Doesn't recieve text ti'll a few minutes of the call.

that isn't all the trouble we've had with the text service, recently server went down and just came back up. So it's not reliable as always

@clrickels i hate the text service. it is only good for letting you know what the nature of the call is. do not rely on it to come in the second you get a call.

@clrickels I like the text dispatching, however I don't always look at my phone right away, and sometimes texts from our county are delayed because of high text message traffic. I don't think at this point completely text dispatching is gonna work

@clrickels Here in Ravalli County Montana we dont use automated voices in the paging system. The voice we here is the actual dispatchers voice.
