  • Im on a hair journey now im on the no heat challenge for 1 year and i've haven't flat iron since Dec of last year and i notice my hair longer im natural btw and i was my hair 1 a week and deep condition every 2 weeks and i oil my hair every other night and im taking prenatal vitamins and im tired of my family telling me to relax my hair i dont wanna do it i wanna grow my hair back length like how it was when i was a little girl that is my goal

  • I went and chopped off all the relaxer in my hair last yr in april, and it just wont grow, i need a regimen, can you help? my whole family is always telling me that my hair wont grow back naturally long and i need to perm it for it to grow....thats a myth ...right?

  • @stephantheblack Yes, that is a myth. See her "THATS A HAIR LIE! (HAIR MYTHS)" video. She posted it about 4 months ago. :o)

  • lol.. i just started my hair journey and shared some off the stuff i learned with my coworkers and they nearly had a fit when i told them about cowashing... they was like wtf!!!.. you only sposta wash with shampoo... and how im crazy and what not... smh

  • you are so friggin cute lol. I have watched a few of your videos and you seem like such a great and goofy person. Anyway, I am going to try a hair regimen to get my hair to grow back out. It just seems like it doesn't wanna grow anymore :-(

  • I feel the same way gurl

  • lol thts realy tru! when i tell persons what i do, they're like hell no! i'm not doing so much shit!! it realy pisses me off mayne!

  • WOW I FEEL THE SAME WAY..YOU CAN DO ANYTHING REALLY AND IT DOES TAKE TIME TO GET IT THE HEALTHY AND LONG OR ANY OTHER WAY YOU WANT...FINALLY SOMEONE WITH THE SAME THOUGHTS :)

  • girl i feel u! my mom is the same way lmao! but i am guilty for not knwin how to really take care of my hair because of my mom.. i haven't had a perm for a year now tho :).. but what do you do to moisturize ur hair.. with what?

  • i wear protective styles all the time so my friends at school are always like "why do you wear weaves all the time" and "are you bald". so one day i wore my real hair, which is a little bit pass shoulder length, because i thought it would stop them from sayin im bald. then i went right back to protective styles and they started naggin me about how long my hair was and i shouldnt wear weave. so i guess it'll never stop.

  • Yes girl I feel the same way!

  • Do I have to cut my hair to start my hair Journey :( I was getting relaxers but I stopped getting them like 2 years ago my hair was growing great no breakage and it was shiny and pretty than I goy my hair dyed and it was the Worst mistake of my Hair growing life the Back of my hair is shorter than the front and its damaged BAD and its uneven and the color is growing out but Im afraid if I cut my hair I will hate it Please Give me some advice

  • @habush01 yah I woke up at 8am and my mom would rebraid my natural hair and I had done this up until 5th grde, it was EXTREMElY thick very nice, over the years it started thinning cuz I had to wake up at 6am so I dnt rebraid it everyday only once/twice a week my hair is now thin..

  • -_- I ALWAYS wear protective style yet my hair thinned out from 5th grade it makes me really sad :(

  • @TheCClolz I feel you I'm facing the same problem too :(

  • 0:20 ♥

  • rofl! @ "black women are bald head". omg yes last night my mom asked me why do i wash my hair so often like a white girl. and i just went silent and eventually said "well mother its part of my new hair regime". she also noticed how soft my hair is now and how strong it is. THANKS MEG!

  • i just started my hair journey last yer & so many ppl can ee the diff in my hair & ask wat i do & look at me like im crazy. they think i do so much because i like hair so much but its really cuz i like MY hair weave is pricey..nice sumtimes but i dont wanna b dependent on weaves..alot of friends & fam want me to help qrow their hair but im too busy w.my own to b workin on 5 other ppls hair too.lol

  • i get, "your doing too much!" "that is too much to do" & i say, "that u don't want long hair. it is work." yep, i see ppl w/ broken sad lookin hair & feel bad bc i can't say a word. now i've got ppl who want me to help and i'm literally s'pose to put someone's relaxer in in a couple of weeks and doing consults over the phone. it's got me thinkin, well how much $ can i make w/ this? ya know! also i can talk on & on abt hair... which i've got to stop!

  • MY MOM IS THE SAME WAY!!!!. CUT IT CHIN LENGTH AND EVERYTHING. AND STUCK IN THE OLD WAYS!!!! Lolz small world....

  • What is A hair Journey!?

  • @WinniePooh561 where you take the time to look after your hair properly to gain length and heatkthy hair

  • Go gurl....do that work because you want to make yourself happy!

  • @ulovemegz -I wish that I'd met someone like you who wanted to tell me how they grew their hair back when I knew nothing about a HJ. But it always seemed like they never wanted to tell me. Like it was a secret! Now my hair is healthy and growing I find that just like you, when I meet people and they ask me, they give me that same look when I tell them. Like,"Gurl, that sounds like it takes all day!" It's things like that that makes me sad. They want it but won't work for it.

  • I love your videos...keep them coming!

  • i need help!!! i wanna know everything u do step bye step. your hair is beautiful

  • i really wanna start a hair regemin/journey but im only 14 an i kinda dont know how or where to start lol

  • Love it.. I'm a true fan.

  • @JacksonJosh88 Gald it worked for you too.. :) I did not want to go anywhere also because people would see my thin hair. An then I discovered this hair loss site HairLoss101. net (remove space) and it changed my life..:))

  • Had to subscribe after watching this

  • this happens to me all the time and I don't feel bad, people will do what they want to do. and if you want to do something you will find a way to do it and if you don want to , then you simply wont. :)

  • you are so pretty!!!!!!!!!!

  • It is so annoying when friends and family make comments like you cant stretch relaxers because that means that your hair will break etc and stuff like you should be washing your hair so much. But when I last relaxed my hair was more thicker and I alps gained a lot of length - which kept them quiet

    Lol

  • @nemefa7 my mother tells me that everyday, they don't understand just let them be when they starting results then they will think otherwise

  • Hahaha..."I don't be havin tiiiime to do all a dat!"

  • Why dont u ever do protective hairstyle tutorials because in most of your videos ur hair is straight and down

  • you need to do a video on the top ten myths, of all hair time!

  • @ready4awesome awwwwww i just did a video like that last week but i didnt upload it yet im going to rerecord it bc i left out major ones...

  • Hi i'm new to your channel but ive sub as soon as i saw your vids.Um i just was wondering did you ever braid your hair in french braids to help with hair growth?

  • love ur vids gurl..ur such an inspiration n u make me hella laugh dame xx

  • I feel this vid cause black girls could grow their he to a surthin lenght is just they're to fckin lazy to do it that's why i grow my hair in dread but i feel offende when i see black girl who always I MEAN ALWAYS having weave or false hair on

  • im trying to start my hair regimen to retain my lenght, i always get compliments on my hair and how long and thick its been which it has always been but now its longer and i want to make it healthy to grow longer or retain, my main goal is to make it healthy with less shedding and keeping moisture, but you are soo right, everyone wants to compliment and "wish" they had this hair but no one wants to spend the time!

  • at my skool i told everyone my regimen dey lookd at me stupid.

  • 1;44 hahahah, "well whuddu you do?" "they jus be like oh".

  • but im gona wait 8 or 9 weeks!

  • omg i feel the same way with my mom! lol, i told her about my regimen that im about to start n it kinda went over her head, but i tell ppl that everyones hair is different like, i cant wait every 10 weeks to perm my hair bcuz my hair grows fast and its thick, my main problem is dandruff n dry scalp, i focus on oils n moisturizing, im about to start cowashing, i dont have a problem with length or fullness so i wont wash as much but i feel everyone should have a regimen! i feel u on this one!!

  • i honestly think that having to deep condition, then co wash plus washing it (which is a neccessity) then moisturizing THEN sealing is too much. I understand why u have to do this, but juggling school then having to do all of that might be a bit frustrating for me, though

but i think i can handle it. my mom rows me though for washing it so many times.

  • i love your hair and i hope i can reach my 1 st hair goal length wich is shoulder length @meg

  • You use a relaxer...I thought it looked relaxed. Imagine how much better it would look if you didnt relax it. It would have so much volume

  • @BajanRoots That was rude, it looks great right now. She's said many times that her hair is not naturally thick with a lot of volume.

  • Comment removed

  • i wasnt trying to be rude. and i didnt say it looks bad, i just said it could look even better. i was only suggesting she go natural.

  • @BajanRoots She is trying to show girls who are relaxed how to have healthy, long hair so going natural would defeat the purpose. I recall her mentioning in another video that she might go natural in the future but that right now she's enjoying her relaxed hair.

  • There's this lady @ my church and she's ALWAYS asking me what I do to my hair bc its always in cute styles and it's always looking shiny and healthy and when I tell her she's all like "Oh. It's bc ur young & u have time on ur hands". -_- And about the crazy myths im transitioning to natural hair & my aunt told me if I perm all my hair (including my ends) thn my hair will magically return to it's natural state. o_O If only, if only. SMH

  • I just want to tell you that your hair looks pretty, you doing your mom voice was so funny. Are you natural? how did you do that style on your hair?

  • My mom has really nice hair and she gets annoyed when people ask her who does her hair because she says it's not about who does your hair, it's how you maintain it.

  • i love you hair you inspired me to start my own hair regimen....:))

  • @ulovemegz do u air dry usually after ur washes and co washes or do u blow dry? if u air dry what do u do to ur hair while its drying?

  • I Think That Alll The Timeeeeeeeee

  • you should show us your moms hair texture .

  • you really turned my view point towards my hair and i am actually ready to go on that journey

  • Hi ! I've been watching your videos and I was wondering if you air or blow dry your hair thx (:

  • Yes I feel the same way....... I see it a lot in the inner city and I'm so tired of women looking a hot mess with the weave, but look at my daughter because hers is naturally down her back. Mine getting there, one year natural. Women are damaging there hair paying hundreds of dollars to pay someone to damage it.....wow

  • i have that shirt lol

  • hair is a lot like nails. My nails are long and real n people always say "how'd you get em to grow?" ... "time + protection"

  • How do you moisture an seal and wat do you use?

  • Megan, I can't speak for anybody else, but you have definitely inspired me to start my first hair journey. I tried to copycat other girls regimens and got discouraged when it didnt work for me. But, it wasnt until I viewed your vids about your feelings about finding your own regimens and doing what works for you that gave me the confidence and the knowledge and the boost I needed and always wanted to finally take care of my hair. Thank you my sister. You are the BEST!

  • What is your hair lengh on this video. My hair right now is APL lengh and trying to grow it longer to the lengh you have.

  • Dont worry about so much the length but the thickness

  • Thx to you I have just started my own hair journey in June and I am seeing some results already. My hair is about mbl now and I am hoping to be waist length by 2012. My hair is kinda of thin now so I am trying to get it back thick by stretching my relaxers to 12wks. Any advice is highly recommended..... Thx alot:) Oh by the way hey Ashley........

  • Starting my own hair journey, I have hair past my shoulders. Wat are some styles that you wear to avoid heat?

  • lol @ "what's a regimen?" the way you said it was funny I asked the same question b4 too rofl.

"I wear protective styles" awkward pause "oh" rofl

putting your mom on blast lmao jk, but I remember when I was little when my mom took me to go get my hair straighten I remember when all the hair dresser used grease and that hot comb, I hated it made my hair seem dirtier and it would stick to my face and the hot comb didn't even get the ends blah...good times good times rofl

  • Same story with me! Everything you said from beginning to end!

  • Same atory with me! Everything you said from beginning to end!

  • Same atory with me!

  • im just starting my hair journey and finding hard to pick which products are best for my hair...i currently use pantene shampoo...i dont really know which moisturizer is the best to use and i have no idea which oil i should use!!!! do you have any suggestions that could get me started on my hair journey???? thank you...:)

  • @candigrl2roxie Hey i just started my hair journey by stretching my relaxers, deep conditioning and co washing. My hair is medium course mid bra strap length. The products that I find work well for me are:CON(creme of nature shampoo and conditioner), Herbal essence Ltr, Olive Oil Moisturizer, Coconut oil..... These products work well for me........ Hope this helps.....

  • i want to b a hairstylist when i grow up so i started 2 watch ur videos nice

  • i want to grow my hair back ; but i personally don't do hair ... but i want my hair to grow at least down to the middle of my back without it looking thin is there a way to do that by using the same products that you use?

  • Yes some what, with me my family continues to do bad things to their hair and expects me to correct the problem, even after they have asked many times before and I have provided assistance with the issue; on the other hand they complain repeatedly that I spend way to much time on my own hair, and appear to have major issue with me caring for my hair. I am PUZZLED by this.

  • Yes. I get it all the time along with the looks and extra comments. It's really like you can't say nothing else to them, especially when its a group being that way.

  • yes .! i agree && i just told my aunt i was going natural guess what was her response... ugh no you cant your hair is natural ?. im like wtf duh it isnt right now but it can be shes like nooo its too soft n its not course im like i watched youtube videos im very educated on what i want to do shes like your going to be looking stupid its not going to look right on you.... im like what evere i have like an inch of new growth right now

  • yea my sis in law is like that. She keeps doin bad things to her hair and then complaining about it. She wont learn how to comb it on her own, she keeps going to the shop and they chop it off more and more and she LIVES for weave. And i tell her to let me take care of it let me comb it but she just doesnt put the effort forth. So...its annoying when women with damaged hair complain but dont want to do what it takes to make it better

  • @makeupisglam223 God bless you and yours!

  • Comment removed

  • The ORS moisturizer and the smooth-n-hold pudding have mineral oil.

  • @ ulovemegz. Well...what can i say. i totally agree with what you are saying. People need to understand that from the very first time you relax your hair[ or use any chemicals] you are automatically signing up {so to speak} to a regime. You need to treat you hair all the time to manage and maintain healthy hair. I constantly get asked what hair do i use and who does `my weave,{ which I don't have}`. When i correct them they are surprised because apparently black women don't have good hair.

  • a also have very long relax hair and i have never go to a hair dresser and i notice some hair dresser are not educated to help there client, all they do is give them wig or glue in hair . i have friends that cant grow there hair and they dont listen to me because they keep saying i am mix

  • This is exactly how i feel everyday when people ask me about my hair, as a black girl just having it either people are like it's not yours or it's cause you must be white, or half of something else, when it's all about how you take care of your hair, that's it, but they think it's too much work to do, if people would just take the time to do it, they could have the same thing, i agree with you completely.

  • am i the only one who hears the bruno mars song at 2:29

  • Holy God I am in love with your hair

  • as to be broken down to a point of minimal-to no kinkiness the hair, at the very least, is damaged. The reason why such a meticulous method is used is because one must prepare and repair when they make the decision to chemically alter the natural course of their hair. Her hair is gorgeous!

  • @A3shl3yChristina Here's what you're missing: I'm not insulting anyone. Some people are prone to having long hair. Ulovemegs said it herself, she & her mother have long hair. What I'm saying is that it isn't unreasonable for a Black woman in America to find a hair regimen too extensive because beauty lines (until recently) are not designed for the ease and effective use by minority women. All hair is dead. I'm speaking figuratively. Anytime the natural, beautiful hair that God blessed us with h

  • Too much work? Its never too much if your trying to take care of your hair or yourself period. Your regimen would probably not be the same as theirs, if they would just take the time to find what it takes to care for their hair. I wish i can find someone i can talk to about that. I cant find any one around just to have a intellectual conversation with lol.

  • Isn't, designed to care about it's minorities beauty regimen. A girl would make a cheap shot at an individual that she doesn't even know. #TeamNaturalHair

  • @kissyfresh078 Well I can assure you that I'm not, "jux ignorant," or "jux made" for that matter. I'm not going to get into a battle of wits with you because you are obviously unarmed. I used to only get "press and curls" for years. I damaged the natural curl of my hair badly with only heat. You think a chemical won't do worse? False. A woman reading my comment should walk away empowered and loving herself as she is. A woman would be shocked by the reality of living in a country that was not, &

  • @PlayWrite1986 protective hairstyles and moisturization our hair is not killed if you dont lyke relaxed hair then dont watch these type of videos ur clearly ignorant and have a lack of knowledge

  • an extensive hair regimen is because your hair is dead, & you are constantly killing the live new growth. When a Black woman chooses to be natural, she doesn't have to wash her hair every week, & moisturize every week because healthy hair retains moisture. Get off the boat, honey, because that "creamy crack" isn't worth the poison that's in it.

  • @PlayWrite1986 You are so ignorant that its sad!! Perms r not poison! My hair grew bcuz of a perm and im the only one in my family with long hair. Black pple do have a good healthy regimen! You jux sound made bcuz maybe ur bald or u cant get ur hair to grow! Oh well get a regimen going and take care of hair duh!! And this girl's hair is not dead her whole head is healthy thats why its long! ANd pple w/ natural hair have to do jux as much to keep their hair healthy. They have to wash, moisturize

  • ..and the whole 9 yard! get educated about how to maintain healthy hair ma'am! tsk tsk smh ignorant jux plain ignorant!

  • @PlayWrite1986 ur clearly blind n shudnt insult people who use relaxers if you dont like relaxers then you clearly shudnt be watching this video just because someone has a relaxer does not mean were killing our hair thats where proper maintanage and care comes in there are more advantages to be natural rather than relaxed but do not say ulovemegz or any african american women are prone or biolagically have long hair long hair specially relaxed hair is hard work and keeping our hair in prot

  • @PlayWrite1986 Wow hair is hair...Why must you go on preaching about natural hair..Nobody gives a fuck.

  • Girl you are waaay off kilter. Perm is Poison. You grew your hair out like that with perm because you, admittedly, are biologically prone to long hair. Facts are we were brought over here to work pay free. White man didn't see us as the delicate creatures that needed beauty regimen. They saw us as work horses & hump pillows. So the "convenient" hair regimen isn't there for us. Then when a Black woman does decide to grow her hair, she's getting robbed by Miss Jessie. The reason why you have such

  • This video just made me feel so dumb!

  • I got the remark about not washing too much just yesterday - I basically did not say a word.I ignored her. Last year on September 12th & 13 I cut my hair to just about 2 inches off my head. I went a bit crazy after that, sometimes washing my hair every day. I loved it. My hair is now about 11 inches long. and her hair which has never been cut and looks dry enough to start a fire - is not even ear length. It would be a waste of time to say anything to her, seeing the length would accomplish more

  • Amen to that! that must be one ignorant white girl b/c we have the hair, attitude, talents, body shapes, and passion of queens. Black women are beautiful no matter how long/short their hair may be. I love your hair girl! Patience is key to having a great head of hair-and quality products as well!!! Good luck to you!!!!!!!!!

  • People aren't interested in hearing something will take a bit of work or patience. They want you to tell them you used Vaseline and Dr.Miracles and a week later your hair was 12 inches longer. ^__^ Just like weight loss, they don't want to hear about diet and exercise , they want the name of a pill that will make them drop 20 pounds in a week while they eat buffalo wings and cookie dough! ^__^

  • I feel you all the way on this vid.

  • I don't like when people say they don't have time for all that because, in all honesty, a hair regimen can be as simple or complex as you desire it to be. The main issue is keeping your hair moisturized, your protein balanced, and your ends protected. I hate seeing women pick up crappy black hair products that are expensive when they could use olive oil THEY ALREADY HAVE and a cheapie conditioner for BETTER results. And then they give me the stink eye for suggesting it.

  • subbed !!! and yes I feel the same way you do .... my hair is about ...maybe 2-3 inches shorter than yours and everything you sound like me ... I DO NOT grease my scalp (and my mom hates that lol) and I get a perm .... maybe every 10-12 weeks ... everything you do (or mentioned) I do and it works lol so I know how you feel and it is frustrating.

  • ♫♥☻Omg yes I understand what ur saying ppl are so annoying with that stuff. My hair has been through a lot like it was long n now its not so i decided to start my hair journey but my mom thinks Im getting too obsessed with my hair. Idk i just wish that ppl would take the time to understand and take care of themselves so those stereotyping haters can eat their words.♫♥☻

  • hahaah i dont have time to doo al that .. :P lol .!!

  • DO you not use the castor oil to moistourise your scalp

  • You're so cute!

  • My hairdresser alwys says that she has never seen a gisrl who loves her hair "SO MUCH" just becos I don't want my hair to be bone-straight & becos I use a lot of products. Actually, it makes me laugh. I mean it's as if she told me "you love your eyes WAY TOO MUCH". I mean, hair is just another body part and we have to take care of it as well. Most black women look up to whites &since whites don't do much for their hair they think its the same 4 us. But we don't do much 4 our wrinkles. Whites do.

  • seeing your hair true potential is exciting and proper hair care should be practiced no matter if you do wear weaves are wigs, your hair under extentions should be in a healthy state but alot of people get lazy & dont consider the damage we do to our hair because od bleaching, perming, braiding our hair too often but meg i love how you truly share with us what u do another guru ninapruitt also have a wonderful hair channel i must say i do get lazy at times but you both motivate me <3 ya channel

  • i only had 2in of hair feb 2010 now i have about 7in now june 2011. im natural the key is MOISTURE and keeping your hair clean, and protective hair styles!!!! i just do plaits. Cheap conditioner (suave), shea butter, evoo and water and BAM! Easy as pie! lol love ur hair its beautiful!

  • Funny that i just found this video, as i made a video on my channel talking about what i do to my hair to retain my growth and someone commented saying "TOO LONG" and it really annoyed me! Its like if u want long, healthy hair nothings too much or too long to do! And its the same women that say this that complain black hair dont grow and stick a weave in!

  • girl u should do a class on this!!! lol

  • do u just put caster oil or do u put other products in it

  • awesome vids, it expired me to grow my hair back. It use to be long like yours but that heat killed me. But i have a friend who had pretty hair then she started to go to the pool. Her hair is shoulder length and she is always talking bout weave is her best friend. It kills me to see how she taking care of her hair when she is complaning about how long she wants it. I try to tell her but she is sooo stubborn.

  • All i can say is that if you have time to sit hours at a time to "get yo' hair did" avoid every drop of water that touch your hair(such as rain) grease your scalp faithfully... then you got time for a hair journey.

  • @mzlareine1105 Preach.

  • @mzlareine1105 So true. My best friend will go the stylist and spend hours there, but won't do a dang thing for her hair for the two months she has her sew in. My hair is retaining length, and doing better than it ever has, and she wants the same thing, but won't put in any time. She dismisses it as "taking too long," "doing too much," and "stupid, yet, my hair is doing better than hers. People are just lazy. It doesn't even take that long. Lack of commitment and laziness.

  • awkward moment at 4:10-4:15

  • Yes, all the time. I have been dealing with this for years. It is actually one of the reasons I am so interested in hair blogs. I tell people all the time that "less is more." But once I share my low maintenance/high moisture regimen, they are instantly discouraged. Sometimes its a patience issue but most of the time they were worried about what others think. I start telling other women now that if they want the attention of our black men just try to grow their own hair and see what happens.

  • I have this color in my hair for about a month now and my hair has not cut or gotten shorter since. it still remains length and texture as my regular black hair. but i get the same questions all the time

"arent you afraid your hair will fall out?"

it wont fall out if i take care of it. there is no reason any womens hair should fall out unless they dont take care of it.

black women should not be afraid of trying new things with there hair unless the are not planning to take care of it

  • i feel the same way. although i do have natural hair for over a year now my hair has grown back to wear it was before the perms started to cut off my hair.

(only reason i say that was because i relaxed my hair wrong..i would do it like every 2 weeks which is bad)

it is at my shoulders and i am hoping for it to get longer. i recently colored the back a honey blonde and of course there is that stigma that black women should not color their hair because it will break your hair. TBC..

  • can you help me plz grow my hair !!! can you write me down your regimen plz

  • yupp all the time they look at me crazy and they dont care about there hair like i do

  • Oh my goodness, your mom sounds like mine. They are so old school, that's all. My mom eventually just went to dreds. LOL it's long, but it was a cop out honestly.

  • Gurl' I know what u mean... my hair is natural and full and comes a little below my APL. When I wear my hair down people always ask me " Is that ur Hair and How did u get that length? when Im telling them.. they turn their nose up and shake their head (like they cant be doing all dat)...

It makes me mad cause it like why ask me what I do and then when I tell U , you just put it down ....

to myself i turn my nose up and say that y ur hair look how it look now!

  • Howw do u moisturize in the night? and howw Longg did it take for it to be that Long?

  • Comment removed

  • @06Kabal u should sit w her n have a talk, cuz if not she will still damage more each time if u dont take good care of it, my biggest issue is split ends so i constantly trim it, but its nice of u 2 b concern 4 ur gf :)

  • my mom is the same way too...olol

  • "i dont have time to be doing all that" lol that pisses me off so bad if she says that her vagina is probably dirty. how can u not have time for your beauty?

  • @h0llywh0..... LMAO @ "her vajvaj is probably dirty." You have a point.

  • YOU ARE HILARIOUS BUT I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN FAM! LOL

  • your voice is annoying

  • I feel the VERY same way. My hair is around 12-14 inches, and I use the oils and correct products, wrapping and treatments. It's thick and healthy, and my very best friend has "long" hair that is 60% split ends and will not trim it, or wash and oil it when necessary. My hairdresser has taught me everything and has grown my hair from my chin to my shoulders, and my friend won't go because she doesn't want to wait. It does make me feel bummed. It's sad, the people who don't know their potential.

  • I wish somebody would've educated me. In the past 2 months I've retained an inch and that's after trimming! People laugh at me now for not straightening my hair all the time but I really can't wait until September when I reach APL and then they'll be like "woah!" because I live in MS where most black women don't know much about hair (some do around college areas) but I'm still in high school so if you don't have bone straight hair they just don't understand

  • @TransitioningBeauty OMG we are exactly the same. I rarely straighten my hair and people ask me why I never straighten it as if its a crime. I hate it. I'm in high school too and everyone is so shallow and stupid and it sometimes pisses me off and others times I feel sorry for them. But yet they wanna know how I'm making my hair grow -__- like its not right in front of their face.

  • your hair is so pretti n dont listen to them gurl shake dem off :)

  • I truly agree with your point of views. I grew up with a mother how believed in those same myths about washing your hair too much and also not knowing how to maintain length. My mother also have a very good grade of hair, she use to grow it down past her waist, with no problem. I am so grateful for learning how to develop a hair regimen for myself. Thank you girl :)

  • MY SISTER HAS THAT SHIRT

  • OMG I saw your other video and I am VERY proud to say that you reeeeally inspired me to start my hair journey ! See now the first week went well , but my hair started getting dry and frizzy and I was noticing a LOT of split ends . So I just wanna know , what kind of moisturizer do you use? Is Olive Oil good for your hair? What kind of shampoo do you use? Thanks !

  • @ShellyMade1 you also have to deep condition your hair when you wash, moisturize your hair daily . You can try a mixture of vegetable glycerin and water 40% 60% in that order or our 30% 70%, check out her old vids and see what can help you. Also don't forget to protect your hair nightly. Wish you the best in your journey

  • i luv ur t- shirt Vote...4 0bama!!???:) hahaha

  • I somewhat started a hair journey 6 months ago. my hair has gone from about 3 inches to 7 in that time but i have a hard time find a regimen for myself. Would you mind helping me come up with some things? any help is appreciated

  • @Estrellas34 a regimen is based on your own hair needs and trying different things out like ; does my hair like oils and does it like the heavy ones like olive oil or a lighter one like coconut oil or does sheabutter work better for sealing in the moisture.does my hair like a leave in conditioner spray so it doesn't weigh the hair down or does my hair suck up moisture like a sponge and prefer a thick conditioner. next too find a good deep conditioner and plastic caps and use it for 30 min 1 week

  • I was just having the same convo with my best frienf as far as grease helping your hair grow and she swears it helps her hair grow im like girl PLEASE ! but yeah alot of people always question me and why I do so much to my hair especially my mother but thwy don't understand the importance of having a regimen and the benefits of it. I try to help and they dnt want it so i let them be and when they see my hair and how its looks then they'll believe me !

  • ik how u feel i try to tell my cousins how to grow their hair and they just give uo and dont try or throw the weave back in...or say oh thats a lot and its really not and u do feel exited cus u want them to do it cus u know of the results and then they just wont...but im just like well sucks for u im gonna have awesome hair...

  • i just wanna make a comment on the hair washing...it depends on the grade of hair well as the condition. i was my hair once every two months(water). if my hair is with residue, i use waterless shampoo. my hair is almost bra strap length. i use natural products and clip split end hair. when i washed my hair more frequently, it took longer to recooperate because it gets so dry...plus i have an ultra sesitive scalp due to a car accident i was in years ago..good luck on your continued hair journey

  • OMG you are the Cutiest little girl on the Planet! You are a Doll and you are right about hair care. God bless you and keep up the good rants!

  • You have such gorgeous hair. Awesome!

  • Thank u so much !! @TownHeroine

  • Hey Meg!! I have an important question! I Wear Weaves & Single Braids as my protective Styles so i cant rly moisturize & seal it and co-wash daily or weekly as needed when i have thoses styles in. Will this affect the results of my hair journey? if so what should i do? plz respond if u can

  • @VanillaKeys1 I use the same protective styles as you and what I do is: co wash every two weeks, moisturize and seal my braids (up to wear each hair ends) once everyday and re-braid the main braids in the front and back every 3 weeks/ when needed. With weaves I do the same regimen while trying to get in between each track. I feel that leaving 'your own' hair alone without moisture or washes defeats the purpose of a protective style.. Hope I helped :)

  • lol..i love you..ur such a sweetheart!
