That is non-canon as far as I'm concerned. There was never any engine named Lady in any of the books written by Wilbert Awdry.

I understand peoples feelings on the whole "HE DOSEN'T NEED SPECIAL COAL ANYMORE" thing..But look at it this way; In a childrens show, it's a good thing for a character to have some sort of health problem. It shows that children, who might have health problems of their own, don't have to feel ashamed or feel they can't do as much because of their problem.

Thats the way I see it.
