  • this is one of my fav cpc tennis games.... however it does have a bug in the leter stages and you cant go on to win a title get to about the quarter finals or semis i think it happens every time too i should know i tried it so many times.

the game is a bit hard to get used to at first with practice i became very good - i posted some hints on how to play to win in AA118 tribute magazine go check it out and hope they help u get better at playing :))

  • There must be a trick to playing this game. I mean they're not going to release a game where it's impossible to return the ball, but I had trouble playing this when I tried it on an emulator.

In my opinion the best game for the GX4000 is probably Switchblade, but I have the tape version on my 464 so there is little point in getting one, maybe for Pang. Yeah it's just not worth it.

  • I posted a video response to this, it's not actually that hard (maybe should read instructions first ;-p) ... the trick is to position your player, *hold* the fire button down to initiate your swing, then release when the ball is near. Depending on how you're positioned, how soon/late you hit the ball and the direction you push determines where the ball goes! Pretty good system once mastered, but that's about all there is to the game.

  • Kinda shocking when a game as simple as tennis requires you to read instructions just to be able to play thing thing.

Unfortunately, I don't have any instructions with my cart, hence my complete inability to play the thing.

  • Amstrad was nice, had a built in tape drive, and then built in floppy drive. Great computer made in England. Perfect!

  • The computers were pretty decent, for the time they were built.

The trouble with this console though is that it was too little, too late.

It was released not long before the Megadrive came out, had very little software, and no exlusives to speak of. £30 for a cart you could get for £5 on your CPC6128? No chance.

  • it actually looks good, im impressed with gx4000 games in hindsight.. at the time i thought they were bollocks! I remember you could win a gx4000 if you sent a picture to sega power and it got into crap corner.

  • Sorry Steve, YOU'RE FIRED! ;)

  • lol
