Its very good, couple of wrong notes. To all the naysayers out there, try playing this in public, if you f up a couple of notes, its not a big deal. This is quite musical, and asskicking, which is the point. Ysaye did not hit all the notes in tune either.
no, it does not, this is a very good performance. Try playing this in public once, and you will see, unless this is Stephan or Maxim, in that case I know you joking. ha
its good, but you cheat a lot of notes by starting pianississimo and making a huge crescendo when you are sure its in tune. it detracts from the phrase as a whole...just nail the notes! don't play it safe
horrible. play a guitar.

At 1'52'' there are G sharp, not G natural;))
mkviolin 3 years ago
depends on the edition, Ysaye actually wanted G natural there. Your edition may be wrong
banrow 2 years ago
if he wanted so, he would write it so. In the urtext edition based on the belgian manuscript there are very clear G sharp.
did you ask him what he wants?
mkviolin 2 years ago
Yes, I conducted a seance last night, and he said G natural.

Why did you have to play all the six sonatas without interruption? It's a brilliant execution but don't you think it's a little bit tiring ?
