I think i may have touched a bit of a raw nerve with my comments. none ment. but this site is for music fans who want to listen and make views and points on what they listen to. i don't for a moment disagree with you about S/M. but first you aught to understand the meaning of the word "SOPHISTICATED". if you use it to discribe a band then perhaps it is far more suited to U2. as U2 have played through the times adapting to what they believed the public wanted. ie.rock zooropa. popmart.etc etc.

@sqwalker13 I think that's a bit unfair. I believe that both Simple Minds and U2 had a great deal of respect for each other. I was at Croke park in '85 and while we waited for U2 to come on stage they played us some music, this song came on and the place went wild.

As the saying goes, nothing lasts forever, in the case of SM, when Derek and Michael left they went south, as for U2... well I think they've just lost their way totally now :(
