  • He looks like Chatreeo. You know, that guy that reviews those guitars and amps.

  • Kudos for the video!

I was just looking for Roland Guitar Synth demos when I found your amazing slice of analog synth jammin goodness!

Im not a guitarist more of a synthesist but I can clearly see he says some of the classic Oberheim SEM modules he probably triggers and for some reason the older analog stuff had more presents than the 80s and 90s digital sounds.

  • Wow! Marco Travaglio at the electric bass!

  • It's Lincoln Goines on bass

  • ahahahah

     I Want a GR/GS500 x)

  • Hey, I've got two of those GR-500's. One is in almost pristine new condition. This is the first time I've ever found a clip with one on here. I really should make a small video to show it off with. The GR-500 can make some very powerful droning sounds. The Pollysynth section will sustain notes forever, even when bending them. It's kind of a dark, electrical gothic sound. Very evocative. I'm surprised people aren't more aware of them.

  • I have waited like 5 years to finally find a video of a GR-500 in action!!! Shame i don´t have enough money to get me one!

  • Very good video. This guitar he plays with, is a Roland GS-505 with a GR-500 synth from 1977, and I think that behind him there are two analog Oberheim Sem modules, that he plays through the GR-500 external synth section.

He put a pickup in the guitar where originally goes a big magnet that acts as an endless sustainer (while the note is pressed).

    Bye, Francesc.

  • The endless sustainer is a factory feature of the Roland GR-500.

  • Indeed, there are not many videos/demos of the GR-500, wish there were more. I think that Ryo removed the sustainer's magnets by installing the extra pickup.

And the synth tracks really good! Who said it was a crappy guitar synth?
