i think its funny in english as well. the problem is that most poeple don't know that army drill sergeants in the israeli army (and maybe in every army, i don't know) are idiots and imbasils. the thing is that this whole sketch is ironic, describing an intellegent drill sergeant quating wise men, while in real life sergeant are idiots that can't even skeak the language properly.
I don't get it either. Maybe I'm out of the context or there are some cultural differences. But beyond the fact of the captain (or whatever he is) quoting people, I don't get it.
