@lilmama4086 Ya teddy bear is a amazing song i could lisen to this song and teddy bear for ever there so ketchy and amazing C W Mcall i will one day meat u in person
I still have my convoy 45. I can still remember every word. I was 10 when this song came out. I always thought they were saying, "were goin to roll this fuckin convoy" LOL. Well fast forward to 1995 and i got into trucking, and i did get to see the country on my companys dime. But the D.O.T. messed with you at every scale. Canadians were the worse. Me and this black canadian D.O.T. officer almost got into it. He knew i was serious and he just backed down.
Ha yes the times i drove the family sofa from coast to coast listening to this using a tea tray for a steering wheel. Was born into trucking but only eight wheeler tippers so the big eighteen wheelers looked great.
They also don't teach for a drivers license that trucks don't brake on a dime, so don't cut them off. Or that it's hard to see on the right, so don't pass them there or to be courteous flip your headlights off then back on. Oh, and not to mention they sometimes need running starts so don't dick around going up a hill. I'm not a trucker, but it's common sense. But not for all people. Most accidents involving a truck are due to the idiot driving the car.
@Smackdaddy9 Well next time your sitting there eating, thank God for truckers. How you think that food got to you. How bout the cloths on your back? The roof over your head? Truckers, the backbone of America.
Hey dude, this was it in those days. I had a CB in my pickup, and even tho I was a four wheeler, was it ever cool to ride the range with those cattle drivers out there. Did we speak English? Heck no, but good buddy, did we ever have some fun!
haha disleblanc. 19 and a trucker? haha ive only got 9 years under my belt but 200 years total of family tradition. pulled box, skateboard, refer, opened top, dump, and livestock trailers. drove 5,9,10,13 and 18 speeds. not alot of experience as some but enough to do circles around ya. lol
disleblanc, you are to fuckin young or stuipid to even know what the fuck a convoy is!if twenty car's are going together some where,it's a fucking convoy[of car's].i have over 2 million mile's under my belt, and no naccident's!i think you might be one though.if i don't know how to drive truck, well i'll let you tell me how to shift a mack 18 speed quadraplex transmission,or ,for shit's and giggle's!how about a spicer 14 speed?or a eaton /fuller 18 speed.

your choice,if you don't want to believe, then don't!it's a free country.but if you do well ok.but either way i am what i am! interpol, trucker, hacker!your choice!
That was the time to be alive, these days you've got everything from required govern @ 65mph (105kmph in Canada) just to drive in Ontario. Give us the roads back, those road cowboys are out there everyday, and these suits think they're making the roads safe.
Actually it was an 8 Track Cartridge, it following the short lived 4 Track Cartridge, that didn't have it's own pinch roller, (rubber wheel) inside the cartridge. I was intended for the car as it won't skip over railroad tracks or potholes.
OMG... I suddenly remembered that blue/gold "yin-yang" label... my first record album I ever owned was "Wolf Creek Pass" courtesy of my grandfather, a trucker... "Black Bear Road" (where this song came from) was my second album ever, back when I was 9 or so...
I am heading to Billings Montana, and when I get to the chicken coop in Montana, I am going to tear up my swindle sheets and leave them sitting on the scales. They can kiss my hemmriod...
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SONG! LISTENEDD TO IT ALL MY LIFE! and i'm only a teenager and i still love these old songs... Harper Valley PTA, north to alaska, don't take your guns to town, Big john,
I never understood this song.... I mean if the convoy just follows the speed limit, you can just deliver your cargo to NYC and not have to outrun the smokeys.... and what kind of cargo are they carrying anyway to have tanks and armored cars after them?
@ unclefestus - the convoy starts small and builds as they move across the country. The thought of all of those working men delivering the goods, coast to coast. That was also in the days before the restrictions on the number of hours worked or miles driven, so the idea was to haul as much as you could as far as you could, drop your load, get your backhaul load, and head back out. I love seeing the rare indie driver out there with custom rigs - so few and far between.
I have this 45 also, but nothing to play it on. I had CB cards (like baseball cards sold with bubble gum) still do somewhere. thanks for posting -catch ya on the flip flop :)
Does that record have a slight warp? I noticed the flicker. It sounds fine, just wondering. I got a few with warps myself. Great record. Takes me back to when I was in 6th grade. And CB's and Truckers were getting a fan base. I am still a fan of truckers.

Have any of you truckers heard? They have a deal now that the slower traffic is to stay to the right.
It seems that they don't teach that in truck school.
