  • Sam the Eagle: the original Colbert.

  • One thing wrong with this. Look at yourself Sam. You're naked.

  • @CasimusxPrime He realized that at the end of his speech.

  • Bold and Haughty! That wonderful profile he has! One of my favorite Muppets!

  • rofl the old farts always get great lines

  • I know it's Frank Oz doing the voice, but Sam sounds just like Yoda here.

  • @Dragblacker Not the biggest shock, Oz did Yoda too.

  • @israelbeta I know. It's just that here he sounds almost exactly the same as Yoda, whereas other times Oz will vary his voice for each character.

  • Jedi under robes, naked he is! Disgusting, is it not?

  • You MUPPET! He should run for GOP Presidential candidate! LOL!

  • we should all listen to Sam :D

  • Funny, I LOVE the the expressions -- always funny segments. Everything old is new again as they say. Linda

  • And I, for one, am just appalled by it.

  • What episode is this from?

  • Was the Muppets Show originally for adults? Cause that would be weird if that lil kit were for kids.

  • @funnyglitch Yes, yes it was

  • LOL funny and if you don't just about die with laughter then your crazy and I love how he slowly walks away funny

  • My daughter used to do this verbatim when she was about 3. Right down to the voice inflections. It was hilarious!

  • @agassizbeekeeper that'd be priceless - one thing I've done since I was a kid was the 'Do you have a MAGPIE in your home?' speech from that classic WB cartoon with the farmer and the magpies

  • I love the way Sam says "naked"

  • greatest sam the eagle sketch ever!

  • @jedinightwing Hear hear!

  • I love the way he approaches the podium.

  • I miss the Muppets show. It was very entertaining!

  • Something just ripped!:0

  • Thanks for posting, I remember this as a kid!

  • The original muppet show was the tip of the top , ok there's mild innuendo but nothing offensive, not like Muppets Wizard of Oz or It's a Wonderful Muppet Christmas. Disney got it so far off the mark on that one. Lets hope Judd Apatow can get the muppets back on track, The characters are adults after all.

  • Actually, "It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie" was done in 2002, two years prior to Disney's acquisition of the Muppets. But yeah, both those specials went WAY too overboard with the innuendo enough to make Jim Henson roll in his grave! *sigh* At least we have the recent Youtube videos, those are a step in the right direction.

  • Looking back, I'm surprised that they allowed this on a show with such a devoted following among children. At the time, I laughed so hard I almost lost control of my bodily functions.

  • Its a family show, its not aimed at children its suitable for children there is a difference.

  • Meh, it's hardly shocking, is it?

  • WHAT'S shocking?

  • This has been one of my favorite Muppets skits for as long as I can remember. XD
