  • Ummm I really love this and want to favorite it but can you no longer favorite videos on youtube??? if anyone know please let me know how or =if we can't...grrrr!

  • Organized static, I love it.

  • genious.

  • In your Faces Peeps!!

  • pretty good

  • Ulrich Schnauss is god.

  • ich sag mal macht mal pause :)

  • if you haven't heard 'on my own' or 'clear day' check those out.... they go beyond what has been done before.

  • This track just blows me away. It starts with what in most songs would be the climax, and just keeps building and building to something obscenely explosive. The full version on the album takes your breath away.

Anyone got an idea of the lyrics though? I think going into the chorus is "wherever you go / whatever you do / break the chains / before they envelop you / turn to stone / fallen off your throne"

  • ulrich schnauss rules

  • astounding.both.music.video.

  • fucking amazing song, more than gives my bloody valentine a run for their money, yet still sounds original

  • Newgaze?

  • @Chrotisofus FUCK YES.

    BRILLIANCE.

  • i crossed paths with this song/video while watching Odd Nosdam videos...and i like it.

  • The mixtures of rough and soft sounds are brilliant. An ethereal tranceport.

  • this tune is a mess, too much going on, distorted, bad mixing, unmusical, his earlier stuff is so much better, I have all his CDs.

  • I second that, BillygoatUK.

Make no mistake, I'm a huge lover of Ulrich first albums, but really, this song (and the album) are one big step back, it sounds too experimental, like many bands pretend... so it sounds really average, compared to the really brillant and unique sound on previous albums.

    I next one is better...

  • this is made to listen with your speakers at full volume

  • If it sounds bad, do more drugs. It will sound fucking fantastic.

  • It sounds like shoegaze, with the layered sound, distortion, etc. I don't see the problem with it.

  • @roothands like my bloody valentine

  • I used to think the same at first, because of the beginning. But as the song develops it actually unifies very originally. The bass line with the jaded singer and climatic yet subtle changes in the song.

    Very unique and interesting...

  • another great song too thanks !

  • he must really love looking at his shoes by this stage

  • I think video and the sound is good. The title is from mythology and that is good too.Ulrich write good music and can you see that from other songs.

  • incredibe!

  • Brilliant Track.

    Great Video.

I'm sure we've all got our own images for this music, but it's good to see a professional rendition of it. Words and for the most part, pictures, can't describe the beauty of Ulrich Schnauss.

    Bravo!

  • Boring video. I loved Schnauss' first 2 albums because they were beautifully emotive and he was merely influenced by MBV, Curve and Slowdive, not simply aping them like on here.

I heard he's gonna go back more minmal electronic. Can't wait...

  • On the contrary, a recent interview of his he said he no longer relates to the electronic scene and now most relates to shoegaze. I think that is the direction he's heading in. He used to be more comparable to Boards of Canada with the minimal electronica, but he has moved on and I love the new direction. "Never Be The Same" is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever and he wouldn't have made if still stuck in minimal electronica.

  • good song.. can't say the same about the video.

  • This track really is MBV-ish, which makes it so great. There's enuff stuff that sounds like BoC and Aphex Twin, as good as that stuff is.

  • I support this comment, MBV doesn't have enough contemporaries, while BoC and ATw, while very good, have a lot of bands that sound like them

  • This song is definitely the climax of the album. While there are Cocteau Twins and Slowdive influences all over Schnauss' work this song is a very definite nod back to My Bloody Valentine. Absolutely stunning.

Do yourself a favor and pick up Goodbye for the full 6 minute version of this song. You won't be sorry.

  • Ok, Yeah MBV ..Twins and so on ,But I hear ChapterHouse all over his stuff certainly here. I mean check out whirlpool. Even feels like Sherriff on the Mic.
