  • From what I've learned of the fire,the reason Paraffin was used was due to war time shortages of certain chemicals that were usually used in waterproofing the circus tent.Still Nelson Reilly does play it well though.

  • Thanks for posting this video. Mr. Reilly really knew how to express things with such conviction. I've been searching for Circus information, and I can't even imagine the anguish of being at the circus that day--July 6, 1944. (Chase)

  • He was being funny because this was his stage show, and that is what he did. He suffered from his experience...he was afraid of crowds, and was never able to sit in an audience for the rest of his life.

  • So tragic--how ANYONE could be "funny" at all after that...
