This is one of the best albums that Shelby did, I think. She has wonderful songs on all of her albums, however, her voice is at all all time high here-superb! I love the tone, the depth and how she gives her emotion.
One of my favorite Shelby tunes, she was so smoken hot with short red hair. I've said it before and I'll say it again Shelby broke my heart when she went crazy. Please come back Shelby I miss you.
Beautiful. I love all her stuff, cheesy as one poster put it, or otherwise. She's one of the great country singers, true to country in the "outlaw country" tradition.
Love this! She was the best back then. I don't like her now, especially when she won the grammy award for best artist; 7 years after she released 5 country albums that were ten times more classic than her cheesy crappy songs she sings now. Ugh!
@leodresselli 1000 percent agree. Her older stuff before she won her grammy is classic and priceless. Take a listen to Mandy Barnett if you haven't already.
@michaelh0129 I agree with you guys! My wife and I don't like her new stuff at all. We were really pissed off how she got the fucking grammy award for best new artist after 7 years in country! WTFJ!! By the way who's Mandy Barnett? I searched her and found nothing.
Chance502, your post is an answered prayer to me....Shelby is like so many other true talents who haven't sold out, way underrated...What an exceptional woman she is!!!
God bless your soul for putting this on the web.God graced her with genius. We are graced by her for her sharing of it.Just impossible to describe the beauty of this-the music speaks for itself.
Why this song wasn't released on a single is beyond my comprehension. Shelby, her sister Allison Moorer, Suzy Bogguss and lari White are easily the four most underrated women in the music industry.
Remarkable. Great blues-country jazz mix and the kind of stunning vocal rendition that Shelby Lynne seems to be able to pull out of her pocket almost as an aside. She is one of the legends.
HEART AND SOUL , her voice touches my soul.

This lady sings with all her heart and soul! Great talent! I noticed Tommy White playing steel on a Mullen steel which is one the best made. Spoony

This is why I love Shelby - I wish she'd consider putting out a standards album.

If this doesn't convince you that THIS is how she should sing I don't know what will.
A truly remarkable voice that is being wasted on her current stuff
