That Buick was a plain Jane of a car. Did you notice that everyone in the place was truly underwhelmed by the car? Not exactly what I would call a "High Roller" of a car. They went from a Rolls to a Buick, quite lame.
The Rolls-Royce probably would have been from the syndicated run in the earlier version. Also, the little accident you're referring to, Mike, is that her microphone seems to have flew off. As a result of Gene's wins, I wouldn't be surprised if Merill Heatter was crying over it, lol.
WOW! Note Alex say in the first run of High Rollers, about 1974-76, that someone won about $90,000 in cash and prizes...TOPPED BY A ROLLS ROYCE! Now $90K back in 1974 or so...I'd think that would be about $500K today.
@juan833blue Yeah, but I noticed on the Wink Martindale-hosted version, they would usually pass the dice if there was only one bad roll regardless of the number.
So basically they cut the cash bonus later in the run?

Alex mentions after the Big Numbers that the original series gave away a Rolls Royce. Anybody know the circumstances of this?

@rollercoaster87
I think it might have been the "Car Bonus" in the first Trebek run but don't quote me on that one
