  • As revolting as I remember. Therefore excellent. Mr Sparkes....we salute you!

  • Frank Hovis is the King on his Throne, Awesome stuff :)))

  • The ultimate in toilet humour. Up there with Derek and Clive.

  • Frank Hovis singing Tears is a treat not to be missed, so funny.

John Sparkes was a genius now sadly missed from our TV.

  • Genius....!

  • Unless you didn't know ... he is a friend, of a friend of mine ... and now the voice of 'Peppa the Pig!

  • Dubbed laughter!! Needed it cos its a shit(if you pardon the pun) sketch.

  • @L1nds37 live audience

  • Where is John Sparkes now? Great live and very funny.

  • Hmmmm, much prefer Siadwell.

  • Can anyone find the Frank Hovis sketch (part of the on the lavatory series), where he has diahorea, and takes a bath. I remember almost wetting myself laughing when I saw it.

  • @Tonybosh

If you do get it ,would you post and tell me pls Dioch Roy

  • Where is this man? He needs to be back on the telly!

  • coiled . . .

  • Perfect - why don't you use the ladies... but they wouldn't keep still.

  • Saw him live in Wales in 1999 he was soooooooo funny

  • I used to drive a taxi and I think I've had Frank in the back!

Abslolutely was just the best series - Stonybridge, with its stony bridge.

John Sparkes was the star for me.

  • Best punchline ever

  • This guy is a genius! One of the funniest sketches I've had the fortune to see. I had this memorised oh so many years ago.

  • This is "absolutely" one of the funniest "dirty humour" ever aired on TV. Takes me back so many years back. Absolutely brilliant

    There ... was ... this ... MONSTER!!

  • Genius

  • sooooooooooo funy

  • I crapped meself!

  • Absolute genius.

I met John Sparkes at a Paul Merton concert years ago, all the top comedians were in the audience and I went up to him and said "You're the funniest man in this hall." He thanked me profusely and we had a good chat - just a great guy. How in God's name he is not a world star is completely beyond me.

  • Great stuff, so foul. I think this is on bad taste par with Cook and Moores dog pissing in the often overlooked Hound Of The Baskervilles.

  • Revolting, yet wonderful: one of the funniest monologues ever. (Once seen, never forgotten.)

  • That's true. I saw it once, about fifteen years ago, remembered it a week ago, found it yesterday.

  • "there......was.....this.......monster!"

this is out on dvd now i think, great show.

  • Possibly one of the best comedy sketches ever. Nearly 20 years later I still know it off by heart.

  • Frank has to be based on Geoffrey Boycott.

  • I remember laughing till i wept when I watched this all those years ago. I've been looking for it for ages, I could only remember something about the Shadwell actor shitting in a taxi.

    Thanks, Suki!

  • Better out than in!

  • you dont want to laugh but its enevitable you do. you're a genius John for making somethin so gross so funny.

  • There...was....this....MONSTER!! This dude was always the highlight of Absolutely for me. Excellent

  • "I have just crapped in a taxi" GENIUS!

  • Havent seen this for years... since the original screening on TV in fact... I laughed like a drain. Must release on DVD!

  • Unsurpassed toilet humour. I had a great uncle who'd worked in an ironmonger's shop pre WW1. His mate had eaten a mix of gunpowder and molasses to 'shift an obstruction'... and the 'poor b****r split his large intestine', said Uncle Harry. Barnsley, 'bout 1913.

  • Masterful comic delivery, possibly only surpassed by his other sketch about crapping in the bath...

  • thanks for posting - excellent series - brilliant character, remember it well :-)

  • Very funny stuff. Gr8 memories!!

  • Mega! Used to love this guy... and his other characters, the Welsh geezers...

  • head over to his website and sign the petition to get Absolutely released on DVD.

    www*absolutelyandy*com

  • all the programs were released on a dvd box set last summer.

  • brilliant - saw this guy at the Edinburgh Festival last year and he was the funniest thing I've ever seen....take me to the lavatory!!!

  • FANTASTIC! ;-)

and its scandalous that its STILL not out on dvd!

    thanks for uploading this stuff;-)
