Can anyone find the Frank Hovis sketch (part of the on the lavatory series), where he has diahorea, and takes a bath. I remember almost wetting myself laughing when I saw it.
I met John Sparkes at a Paul Merton concert years ago, all the top comedians were in the audience and I went up to him and said "You're the funniest man in this hall." He thanked me profusely and we had a good chat - just a great guy. How in God's name he is not a world star is completely beyond me.
I remember laughing till i wept when I watched this all those years ago. I've been looking for it for ages, I could only remember something about the Shadwell actor shitting in a taxi.
Unsurpassed toilet humour. I had a great uncle who'd worked in an ironmonger's shop pre WW1. His mate had eaten a mix of gunpowder and molasses to 'shift an obstruction'... and the 'poor b****r split his large intestine', said Uncle Harry. Barnsley, 'bout 1913.
As revolting as I remember. Therefore excellent. Mr Sparkes....we salute you!

Frank Hovis singing Tears is a treat not to be missed, so funny.

I used to drive a taxi and I think I've had Frank in the back!
Abslolutely was just the best series - Stonybridge, with its stony bridge.
John Sparkes was the star for me.

Great stuff, so foul. I think this is on bad taste par with Cook and Moores dog pissing in the often overlooked Hound Of The Baskervilles.

Revolting, yet wonderful: one of the funniest monologues ever. (Once seen, never forgotten.)

That's true. I saw it once, about fifteen years ago, remembered it a week ago, found it yesterday.

Possibly one of the best comedy sketches ever. Nearly 20 years later I still know it off by heart.

Frank has to be based on Geoffrey Boycott.
