If They only knew had great the 2JZ could be back then.. Plus I would hate to see a V6 TT Supra like nissan did the GTR. I miss the RBs. I vote for 3.4Lt 2jz, call it a 3JZ, ATLEAST 550bhp to keep up with the GTR and Corvette, and cost under a 100K. LISTEN TO US TOYOTA. You looking out for the wealthy, what about the regular people

@zionbnr32 no it isnt, everything on this car was built in house, that was the whole point of the car; a design exercise for their engineers. they had yamaha's sound engineers (from their music division) do some consulting work with the exhaust to make it sound amazing.

The more i see this car the more i think it is the new supra. Especially the racing version since they got rid of the funny intake on the side of the window. Just look at the supras shape and put them side by side and they do look a lot alike, the car even has a intake on the lower skirt kinda like the old supra. I reckon toyota were going to release the car then just decided to go all out and brand it under the lexus name. Not many people would pay 300 000 for a toyota but may do for a lexus.

this is not a Supra successor. This is to far into Super Car territory for the Supra, if anything the Supra would be placed just under the GT-R, and built to exceed it. This car is in a completely different bracket, a car Toyota has never built before.

Thats hard to determine, and we could argue it all day. If you look back at the history of the Supra though, we can speculate their possible direction. The Supra started as a Celica, basically a higher powered Celica of the time, and branched. Before they knew it it was the 1990's and the Supra was THE sports car. I would like to see Toyota try to take the spot back, but its tough competition. Who knows what will happen with a new Supra, and IF there will even be one.

Maybe, maybe not. But Lexus LFA is now officially only 1 second slower than a Porsche 911 GT2 RS(which is said to be the fastest Porsche ever made right now), and Lexus is now preparing for a Nurburgring track edition, so when that one comes, it will be even more faster. I don't really think Toyota will bring back a Supra again?

In fact, now Lexus LFA and Nissan GT-R are owning German rivals without a problem, and that is all that matters to me.

@NakedSnakeBlGBOSS I agree, the Supra seems to be a thing of the past. It appears Toyota wants to start fresh with a new line up of "sport" type cars, starting with the FR-S (FT-86 Concept).

As for the incredible lap times - and people will argue because the LFA isn't as fast as others in a 1/4 mile drag - is very impressive. Now the LFA isn't built for drag racing, and the Ring times prove that. The new Mercedes AMG SLS has boat loads more power, but only 0.1s faster in the 1/4 and 21 slower

4.8L 40v DOHC V-10, 553 hp @ 8700 rpm, 354 lb-ft @ 6800 rpm VS 6.2L 32v DOHC V-8, 563 hp @ 6800 rpm, 479 lb-ft @ 4750 rpm. Over 100ft-lbs more torque and it can't win. It has something to do with the LFA's torque band being as flat as a table, which only makes it more deadly on the track.

@ManiacMartin00 Your right, But now in a performance stand point. The supra is a great drag racing car and can also be a great circuit racing machine. The LFA is a true supercar not only becuz of the price but the amount of power and handling capabilities it possesses. No matter how much technology and fancy shit is packed into the LFA.. i'll always love the 2jz-gte motor of the MK4 supras.
