Gore is making a case for the beast of Iraq that Reagan/Bush allowed to be born. He lays out past Iraqi actions during the Carter/Reagan years. He also goes into Iran/Contra. Simply put: The U.S. was selling cocaine via the CIA to pay for weapons that the U.S. then sold to both sides in the Iran/Iraq war. (A war crime) This all led to the Iraq war in the 90's, which made WMD programs impossible. Iraq was neutered. This video proves what a mess Republicans made of the next 30 years. Nothing more.

In fact, Gore does not condemn a diplomatic solution with Iraq in this video. He is simply condemning the provisions of economic aid that George H. W. Bush gave to Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war. Gore goes on to say that "looking the other way" as Saddam carried out atrocities during this time encouraged Saddam to believe we would look the other way when he invaded Kuwait.

Furthermore, at no point in this video does Gore advocate or suggest that we should invade Iraq.
