If you watched Jal's documentary you'd have heard him remark that children growing up in rough positions like poverty and crime in America are war children in their own sad right, and perhaps their music is just as much about catharsis to them as Jal's is

I watched a movie about the war, and Africa. And E Jal was there, and he met his family for the first time for 18 years... His little sister had been raped as a little child, three times, awful!

And now he is trying to make a change!!! It's just wonderful!
