  • Frisson, that is the feeling I get from this song. A sense of size, overwhelming. This inspires awe.

  • My favorite song of all times. <3

  • That scene in Mass Effect 3...;_;

  • Sometimes music could describe your feelings better than words ...

  • i herd this and a bunny walked past and ben is really cool but i never thought that maybe later and then we could just but i listened to this all day

  • The movement of your fingers between 3.21 and 3.22...

This is seems to be all I "kept" from this video. And I felt this "desire" again... the one I mentionned before...

La Fontaine coule, et nous passons...

  • Sometimes the world seems to take more than it gives,

    But every morning when you wake up you'fe been given an amazing gift;

    Another day....

  • I once saw a cat on a stool, looking around i found no place to sit, I calmly asked the cat to move. He laughed a pleasant laugh and kindly responded "Why do I look to heavy to sit in your lap?" Compromise, so easy yet always our last thoughts for some reason.

  • I'm laughing like Donnie Darko... Reminds me of my mum. I don't understand anything.

  • Did you like the movie? It is my favorite.I'm afraid that only a few people can truly understand it though.

  • @Ph4nt4sm4ge i loved the movie...and obv understood

  • does the....tree still stand?

  • Masterpiece!

  • When one life restarts to zero, another begins from zero and turns into one. Its life begins...a never-ending cycle, huh?

  • @LightAndDarkVen we will never know, maybe its better that way.. i wish i know..

  • Beautiful tree... Beautiful song... :) And it's a beautiful message too! I believe in innocence and true love. I wish everyone could feel this kind of inner peace at least once a day, and then they would take time to appreciate the things that really matter. Like family, God, love, integrity, purpose... There are so many things I have to be grateful for! Thanks for sharing this song.

  • This song takes on a new meaning to me now that she slipped through my hands. I used to find this song very romantic. Now it makes me feel sad deep inside.

  • Saw the movie today... Love is letting go.. in another way, love is to remember. Not to forget.

But remembering means to feel the pain all the time. Don't forget me... I'll never forget you... still this song is representing all this questions I have.

    Where are you?

    Do you feel pain?

    Do you remember me?

    Do you want to?

    ... were you scared?

& still it hurts to know - I'll never get an answer.

  • @BlackshiroFirewolf Beautiful words....

  • Imagine life without music like this anymore...just the rap and pop. it would never be the same. this is the music that inspires you and makes you think about unthinkable things. just think what the world would be like. my opinoin is that the world would have people who never sticked up for themselves, never follow there dreams huh never even try beautiful music like this is slowly disappearing. i do like pop and stuff but that music doesn't touch your heart like the others do.

  • Listening this music.... I remembered all those good things I lived with him... My dearest Emilio =( PD: he is far away from me, almost 150 milles, I can't see him per the distance, and also, I can't talk with him, because in the place where he stay, dont allow him have cellphones, or those things... RAZON: He's Gay... He wants change.... and I will support him... this is hard to me... but I will. *tears*

  • just awesome. thanks

  • Anyone else think of the book "The Giving Tree"?

  • Clint Mansell is living proof that classical music will never die. As a man who prefers rock music, I am openly admitting that no music style will ever touch classical music. Simply a masterpiece.

  • @estring123 as an opinion I respect it... but your opinion is bs.

  • @KYMBT ok thats fine i just like large scale epic music not lone pianos

  • wow havent listened to this in years, last time i did i was laying on a couch dreaming of how 3 years would be and now i am here. life goes by so fast. my newborn niece certainly did find this soothing.

  • This makes me feel so vulnerable and fragile. Sublime. Alive.

  • I'm such a silly little girl... getting all jealous of the world discovering my precious Darren and Clint...

  • I can't imagine how anything could top such beauty in music...besides the harp, this is one of my favorite sort of musical pieces to listen to.

  • This area has become a housing development, the tree still stands, but for how long?

  • @eightyeightdays it's evolution baby. do the evolution.

  • @eightyeightdays I hope 4-ever ...beautiful video

  • this makes my heart break and builds me up at the same time. i cannot believe i haven't heard of this composer until now. this is lovely..

  • I want this played at my funeral. One of my favorite pieces from the man mansell :)

  • This is the kind of music that makes you be so peaceful..., and forget about all the bad things. It's just... Perfect.

  • @DandyDubber seriously, shut the fuck up

  • @yomamma7159 ....why do you want me to do that? i just gave a comment ?

  • so beautiful!!!

  • It's cold and cloudy outside right now as I'm listening to this. Feels like the perfect weather for such a beautiful song. The clounds, rain and the cold appeal to me.

  • Oh my god... DOES ANYONE LISTEN TO CLASSICAL MUSIC!?!?!?!?!?

  • Love this piece of music. I like the basic concept of the video, a solitary man walking away from the camera towards the horizon, towards a tree. For the end, I would have had the person sitting down against the tree, side to the camera, and with the face showing fully one side (profile shot) or at angle, just to keep the theme of "looking to the horizon" (Mind you I haven't seen the film, so if there are references to it, I don't know them.). In all, good work and thank you for this.

  • One of the most beautiful pieces of music I have heard in a very long time. It inspired me to write a song about somebody I love very deeply, using this music as the base. Clint Mansell, the greatest of respect to you, for you are a genius.

  • hey look, 28 people missed the like button

  • music is great but the video is retarded.. ruined my moments.

  • Chemical chemtrail clouds....represent as nature...

  • Chemical chemtrail clouds...

  • i really serious..i want this song at my funeral...not a joke

  • @Djdwaynedlivecom

I wouldn't want to spoil it for other people by associating it with my funeral

  • @punkdood35 you are totally right! (btw 28 ppl don't believe they will live 4ever)

  • Let the people run free

  • i fell asleep to this song on my ipod, and i had a dream

I was sitting on my front porch with my family, and i was watching the world go by at super fast speeds. Everything was a blur. Except my family and i. We just sat on our front porch swing. Never changing, always the same. I watched thousands of years go by, in the blink of an eye.

  • @sneakybeaver100 Beautiful. Life is such a tragedy yet so beautiful.

  • @sneakybeaver100

    Cool!

  • @sneakybeaver100 Dude, it seems like u had a HD dream.. not many people see dreams with blur effects :P

  • This guy composes the best stuff I've ever heard. I listen to various types of music. But this helps me relax and study

  • his music is just so unique. it makes you feel things you have never felt before. it gives me so many feelings at once i dont know what to think when im listening to his work. absolutely captivating. No one will be able to copy his work with the same emotional power he brings out

  • mira que me gusta el rock, pero esto es algo mas, es una senda que hay que seguir, es algo epecial...

  • If you go to myspace and type clint mansell and click on the music profile that has a picture of him with eye glasses. they have this song but it is titled,"the last man." it's a bit different then this one. A bit longer and has vocals. I would greatly appreciate it if somebody tells me where I can download that version. I love it. Thanks.

  • it's so beautiful!

  • I think piano's are the most beautiful sounding musical instruments in the world

  • combo of that track and video kills me. this is DEEEEEEP, melancholic gets u to thinking

  • Why is it that this song always brings tears to my eyes...

  • This makes me sad but also peaceful at the same time, words can't really express all the feelings the human heart can feel, but music can. All you have to do is close your eyes and listen to it..

I think this should be a compulsary study in schools, there isn't many people who can produce such a quality.

Respect for all brothers and sisters out there. Peace!

  • nothing more brilliant than clint mansell in autumn, and it's also soooo perfect for writing.

  • the video is perfect for the song

  • hard to type as I fall into a trance.......

  • holy shit i love this.

  • Amazing and miraculous film. Wondrous music.

  • I love this. This is the greatest piano piece I have ever heard.

  • Really beautiful track. I like the video much!

  • I come back everyday and listen to this, it's just so beautiful that no one could ever get sick of it.

  • aaah everything that Clint Mansell makes is so beautiful.

  • 26 deaf people have listened to this song so far.

  • @KrigareavGud They're not deaf, just very special. :)

  • this off lost??

  • @grayze07 no, it's from a movie called The Fountain.

  • Mansell is one of the greatest composer and this is (as for me) his masterpiece

  • Together, we will live forever....♥

  • I was listening to this quite loud in my living room a moment ago...my 7yr old son came in and just stood still watching with me..at the end he said "the piano was saying ..dont forget me". ..a nice moment :)

  • @DandyDubber shut the fuck up dandy

  • @DandyDubber What an insightful son you have. =)

  • @PotterPuppetKid me too, I heard of him because he is the scorer for the new movie black swan. You and I have some catching up to do, Idon't know about you but I'll be at that movie.

  • @DandyDubber

Thats a beautiful story, thanks for sharing. I think children are more connected to the source than we are, and can interperate things in ways we cant as adults. The sadness in such beauty is when we ask the question WHY. All the best to you and your son. Peace bro.

  • @TheWarrior1986 whats the source?

  • @DandyDubber that was awesome dude. Made my night.

  • @DandyDubber really magical :) i used to cry over this song when me and my boyfriend broke up years ago. somehow it represented everything that i wanted to tell him. after reading your post... maybe it was 'don't forget me' :) it worked. its an outstanding song. and amazing how your son can comprehend what most of us would never at first sight

  • @dcfashmid Do you know why? It's because a little child can comprehend these things, perceive these things, much better than we adults, or young adults, can. I'm proud to say that i'm 14, and i still have the child in me alive. Let's all work hard to stay that way, kay? Because being a grownup sucks :) i know you have to know reality and everything, but what harm comes from being a little childish sometimes?

  • @2devilbat I do agree that innocence is important. However, there is no use in trying to maintain it throughout life. Sometimes no matter how hard you try you won't be able to hold on to it. Life is progress and change. A way to preserve innocence is to act according to a sane moral code. Keep mercy and kindness in your heart:) I'm sorry I'm listening to this song and it's making me emotional haha

  • @zuzuwbx oh, it's perfectly fine :) i love hearing people's thoughts over an emotional things. Makes you broader, you know? But i really do believe, that you can hold on to your childishness. Even if you're 56, 23, 78, 12, you were still 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and so on. You still have those years on you. you still have those times in you, you know? you can relive them whenever you want! So go ahead and let go sometimes! :)

  • @2devilbat I know :) But its an aptitude you end up loosing in time. I think subconsciously I can comprehend what it tries to transmit, but I couldn't put it into words that easy. xD True. I'm 20. I can't really pin point the moment I let go too much of that side. When you notice, you're feeling way too old for your shoes. I still am a little childish sometimes. But its different. You can't truly go back to the innocent side. Really liked your words though. Keep it alive as long as you can :)

  • @dcfashmid Thank you for liking my words. And yes, i will try and keep it alive. Pray for me, us, and yourself. Pray for all of us, so that we may still be pure and innocent, but still understand the hardships in life. But you can go back to your innocent side. Remember, experience. why not use your experience as a child? why not go back to the times when you were a small kid, and just...reach out with your hands and say "dadah" or, suck on your thumb, or throw a tantrum, things as a child?

  • when your ear becomes spoiled with uncut dope it takes powerful stuff to get you high. the masses cant count past a repedative 4 count.with words 1234 1234 1234 blagh?

  • this song and the movie made me really think about my wife who passed in 06...love this song very much

  • @davididudley sorry for ur loss

  • I know I feel the same way for this song, it is very inspiring and the most peaceful song I've ever heard

  • simpel aber wunderschön (:

  • I love these type of masterpieces that provide actual intellectual comments, and not the common "You're such a ___". I do not see one comment here that implies that type of common hate towards others. This is a simply beautiful song that should never be altered or changed in any way at all.

  • @cpnavy2 you suck and i hate you

  • @hjenkinz Congratulations, you can troll. What does that prove? Absolutally nothing. I'm not even going to bother with you.

  • @cpnavy2 too late

  • Tyle emocji, tyle piękna dziękuje.

  • randy kerber preformed the piano on this track

    Impresionante ;)

  • perfect song for a funeral or something equally depressing.

  • just amazing...!

  • this makes me cry its beautiful.

  • A beautiful piece of music for a truly fascinating and profound film...

  • muy buena la cosa...

  • Thank you! This was the original video that gave me inspiration to post my interpretation of the piece. Please let me know your thoughts.

  • es emocionante todo lo que puede espresar este hombre en sus canciones.

  • Deep. Maybe the deepest...

  • absolutely beautiful

  • This is one of my favorite pieces of music ever. Instrumental pieces can be interpreted differently by anyone, personally i feel hurt when i listen to this, there's this deep sadness to it, like a deep loss. But i love it lol.

  • u know wot u r?

    ok let me tell u.

    your a spastic

  • @YT12345678910 its because you dont have a open enough mind to understand it. try listening to more stuff like this and slowly you will become more aware of what makes a song good. Less screaming death metal bullshit and more Clint Mansell. You'll be fine.

  • The movie is hard to understand but extremely deep and a sad movie. This song is perfect for the movie.

  • @TheCheeseLady

    *SPOILER ALERT*

The movie is essentially a love story of a man who lives eternally. It begins with him as a spanish conquistador and his lover as the queen of spain. After finding the Fountain of Youth, he gains immortality. The modern-day scenes of him is the same man (as a scientist) looking for a cure to his wifes cancer. 600 years into the future, he is shown as a space traveler heading towards the astronomical version of the Mayan entrance to the afterlife.

  • @toastmaster7727

What is the name of this movie q

  • @undefeatedlover the fountain

  • @TheCheeseLady I'm with you.... my best film (or movie like you say)

  • @Modelcit

This track grew on me over the past month. I like it a lot now.

  • @YT12345678910 cool glad to hear it. It truly is an amazing song.

  • the most beautiful, most captivating, and most emotionally moving song i've ever heard. for a song to make you feel so many ways in which you can't even begin to explain is truly a miracle. i love this song to death and i hope many other people feel the same way..

  • @punkdood35 WOW that is an incredible & brilliant comment!!! By reading that & listening to this work of art brought tear's to my eye's .... to that, i say thank you.

  • @DrHydroman lol well thank you, but you should really thank "eightyeightdays" for posting this vid up, i merely commented what i feel about this song :)

  • @punkdood35 Does anyone else see the irony of declaring that you love this song to DEATH? It is a song about death after all.

  • @graylyte lol yeah, the irony stands out well but doesn't change my feelings and vies for this song :)

  • just beautiful

  • @punkdood35 why do you hope others feel the same

  • @terminx well, to tell ya the truth, i really don't know how to answer that. it's just that this song is so captivating that i just want to share it with other people. but don't get me wrong. i'm not saying that people SHOULD listen to it because that is completely up to them, but i merely recomend to listen to it for the fact that it shows that you can't simply "feel" by touch, but by listening as well.
