It isn't correct to say only one American publication has interviewed an enlightened person. J. Krishnamurthy who gave extensive talks in the US and resided in Ojai, California, had a whole interview series done on him and shown on PBS. And how about Parmahansa Yogananda of the Self-Realization Fellowship?
Several of his books I have read, including the long and detailed descriptions of this (series of) event(s) in his autobiography.
There is a certain similarity between this initial main event he describes and some of the experiences I went through on several vipassana retreats, except I didn't achieve the same level of power and mostly without the visuals (I am not very visual).
I wonder if the same event is not happening on a smaller scale for many. Too bad he's not around to ask anymore.
He was my great grandfather. I am the grand daughter of his grandson, Nirmal. My mom grew up with him in Sarvodaya Enclave in Delhi. I was not alive when he passed away.
I am proud to see that my great grandpa was such an extroadinary man.
Could u say this experience he had was a small experience of buddhahood??? The whole cork in the ocean is what most masters say full enlightenment is like.....either way I gotta boost my daily meditaiton times....

To connect to your true self is to remember your life's first true impressions.
No master or no tool can rediscover what you can so easily peel back yourself.
Be natural, be you.

I read some of his essays. Kundalini a gateway to super-conscious states. Remarkable intelligent man.
