  • is it dangerous to heat whey to make foods with it like omellette?

  • what is this protein company?

  • is it not dangerous to heat whey ? since its milk and has fats probably?

  • Progressive Nutritionals Harmonized Protein is good as well.

  • dr. mercola im lactose intolerant and i cant use whey concentrate cuz it give me stomach discomfort and crazy gas, was told to use isolate, or lactose free protein, what do u suggest??thanks

  • just wondering, but should i have more complex carbs in the morning to restore my glycogen levels after fasting all night? thanks Dr. Mercola.

  • Soy = poison

  • What do you think about brown rice protien? I know its not complete but if i mixed it with pea protien isolate would that be healthy? I dunno if the pea 'isolate' is bad.

Allthough ive took your advise ive binned my soy. lol Dairy blocks up my stomach so i dont want whey...

  • @babab0y Rice protein powder is highly processed and should be avoided, very low quality product

  • I have "sfhealthfoods" whey powder and i have no clue to tell if it's grass fed or not. the ingredients include: "whey powder, milk solids non fat. Contains dairy and lactose"

  • @mi1ooo98 The only way to know is to contact the company. 99.9% chance it is not

  • So i cannot use same whey protein for breakfast and same whey protein after exercise daily???? Only two servings, one clear one after exercise, and breakfast mixed with bananas and white egg oil..

  • @lay4life No, you can use whey protein multiple times per day as per your needs.

  • Good stuff! I've been using the Miracle Whey that he endorses on his site. I put this video on my blog today (TheSkinnyOnline) so my readers can learn that not all protein mixes are created equal!! Thanks Dr. M!

  • if u dont feel like eating dont eat ; lesson to your body

  • what is better in a more expensive blender? mine i got yesterday for 25 bucks, maybe by Carrefour, it's a glass bowl and it's all good materials in the base for it's long lasting, plus 1 year warranty... But I wonder, maybe i am missing something out.

  • This is one of the times the saying, "you get what you pay for" works. If you want to begin drinking vegetable smoothies (blended vegetables/fruit including the fiber), a high speed blender (3+ hp) will breakdown the food much better than a high-end department store blender. If you could taste the juice from each blender, you would buy the more expensive blender. It makes 'eating' healthy, so much easier and even quicker. Clean up is pretty quick too. It can change your life, really.

  • mercola is so fucking smart !!

  • You can get grass fed/ not denatured etc protein cheaper than this. Defensenutrition made this product for mercola as far as I can tell - you can get it cheaper on their wesite.

  • great info thanks -love your videos -they really do help

  • Question, you said that eating to much of the same protein source can create food allergies, I typically have a mix of whey protein, milk, raw egg and banana every morning, is it a bad idea to do daily & what would u consider alternatives if so

  • @GiorgosLazarou I would like to know the same thing. Did you find any answers about the allergies and what to rotate with?

  • Grow your own food people. dig up the usless grass in the back yard and grow vegetables all year round. get off the grid. God Bless, look into ''Alex Jones'' for great advise.

  • Good move. Though, there are a lot of areas that have some amazing farmers' markets. My mom would take my sister and I to the farmers market every Saturday to get our fresh produce. But, we also did have a good size garden. Man, fresh veggies from the garden have so much more nutrients to them! Mmm. And there's no way you'll find flowers on broccoli in the grocery store. :-)

  • alex jones is a sensationalist.

he hypes things up too far discrediting genuine people.

  • more than a year ago, i was at superstore

and i was in the protein area and i mistakenly bought 'soy protein' and thinking it's soy so it must be healthier and also it was priced alot cheaper.

anyway, i now know that soy is a really poor choice thanks to mercola.

  • Isn't whey a dairy product? Also i've read somewhere that skipping breakfast is actually good for you. Because during your sleep is when your body digests all the food you consumed and the mornings is when you should have the most energy.

  • idk about what you said but i personally feel least hungry in morning. maybe you're right.

  • here is my question doc: when i wake up i run and do yoga, which is best avoided on a full stomach, and i have to do it in the morniong. this means i go up to two hours without breakfast, at which point i have a balanced meal. is that bad?

  • correction: i go up to four hours without breakfast, 2;.5-3 hours being average. if i am feeling ok on this routine and eat well throughout the day, is it OK?

  • Thanks for the advice. Could you do a vidoe about candida albicans overgrowth?

  • hmmm. I don't know why you are such an advocate for supplements. I guess if you're eating junk, supplements are better. BUT we need food. Isolated nutrition taken out of it's original composition does not behave natural.

  • Wow, I thought this guy would have been against eating breakfast. I believe the "breakfast is the most important meal of the day" is just a marketing slogan. Up there with, "Milk, it does a body good" or "you need to eat meat to get your protein". Your body thrives when your stomach is empty because your energy isn't sapped by digesting food. That's why people who fast food and consume only water for many days report feeling more energy usually around the 4th day of the fast. No more room to wr

  • Isn't this why juicing is good? That would get energy into your body in the form of nutrients without any digestive burden? I plan to get a juicer. What's your opinion on juicing?

  • The 1st appliance I bought was a juicer ($400 Green Star). I used it to juice carrots at first. I really wish I would have started out with a blender, like I have now. I'm not a big fan of subjecting food to whirling metal blades because it does ruin the nutrients as well. However, there are times when it can be beneficial such as trying to get kids to drink something other than soda or a sick person, fresh veggie juice. I would recommend that you look at a blender first off because you could...

  • Thanks for that, never thought about a strainer bag. I just received my blender the other day actually - I got the best I could get, as a long-term investment. Krups KB720744. I'll look into getting a strainer bag. I'm hoping to learn cool ways of making leafy greens more consumable to me - blending them into smoothies seems a good way to consume a lot of greens easily by mixing them with other veg etc? Definitely glad I got a blender rather than a juicer.

  • I usually have my food list of which I write down everything I eat - that way I can't really something without writing it down. So if I want to give in to temptation and eat that delicious spice cake, then I automatically think about that list and say nevermind.

  • I tried Hemp protein for the 1st time this week, really good stuff! I also get my protein from Bison, cage free eggs, and nuts.

  • I don't know how much protein you think you're getting from eggs? When you cook eggs, you kill the protein. You kill everything. It'd be healthier to walk outside and breathe in the fresh air than eat one single cooked cage-free egg. And the omega-3 benefit egg peddlers like to display on the outside of their cartons, they are polyunsaturated fats-- meaning they are the most delicate, quickly become oxidized when exposed to light, heat, or oxygen. Consuming oxidized fats contributes to cancer...

  • Do you have a particular food expert? What books would you recommend?

  • Check Dr Sbei here on YouTube there are a few of his speeches...he's cured AIDS, Cancer etc....really a wise dude.

  • rofl. don't bit over everything you hear. I'm sure we'd all heard about it if he had found the cure for aids.

  • Lots: Dr Herbert M Shelton, Dr Norman H. Walker, Harvey Diamond, Dr. Bernard Jenson, David Klein, Anne E Frahm, Brenda Cobb, Paul Nison, Steve Meyerowitz, Victoria Boutenko.. If I could only give you one name, it'd be Dr Norman H Walker and any of his well written books. You may like his book, Becoming Younger, or see all his titles and decide what you like best. There are lots of other great authors, but most of these have more than one book available.

  • Thanks, I'll check them out

  • I eat almond milk and butter....oh and i make it it's SUPER easy and way better than store bought tasteless crap

  • Howd'ya make them?

  • EASY: soak 1 cup of almonds for 6-8 hours then strain and 4 cups of distilled water, and 3-4 Dates for sweetness, or maple syrup, blend for 2mins...done!

    YUM YUM

Almond butter takes either an AWEESOMELY powerful blender with almonds and coconut oil and BAM done...or you need to use a food prossesor or something.

  • Sounds so great. Is this the milk or the butter?

Do you soak them for less time for butter?

  • Top is the milk, bottum is the butter, theres a few great vids on how to make raw almond milk and butter, search the TUBE =)

  • No soak for the butter...forgot to say that.

  • I have a question. I am over weight by about 30 pounds. I am just about to start a new healthy life style which aims for eating right as opposed to eating less and LOTS of exercising. The problem is, throughout our life times, toxins accumulate in the fat and stay there till fat is burned. Given all that, should I FIRST focus on just eating less and burning fat BEFORE I embark on the new life style? Or should I just proceed with the new life style that I just mentioned?

  • If you begin to "eat right" (relative term*) your body will begin to cleanse itself. If by eating right, you mean you will stop eating foods that contain toxins or eat foods with less toxins, your body will have more energy to rid itself of stored fat and toxins simply because you are consuming less toxins, and your energy isn't wasted on defending against the high level of ingested toxins it was used to. Think of a smoker who cuts back or quits and talks about being able to breath easier...

  • but whey is not good if your blood type O, so perhaps brown rice protein is a good option?

  • mercola! we really appreciate your advice. please continue giving out the tips

  • Thanks, Doc.

  • In these hard economic times, I think that you have to address the cost and convenience that some of your advice fails to take into consideration...Breakfast is important, so what do you think of the low cost meal of oatmeal, peanut butter on whole wheat toast, & orange juice w/ added calcium? Are there other foods, besides eggs, that might be healthy, affordable & available to those on a limited income? Fast food is successful beause of low cost & convenience, even though it's so BAD for you.
