  • Mr. Tarkett, That may be the case with SOME tile but not ours. As I demonstrate in the video, this floor is less than perfect. 40 year old cement slab, untreated, unprimed, and not a tile has shifted or peeled. This is installed in New Jersey where we have hot summers in the 80-90 degree range with very high humidity and cold winters down to sub freezing temperatures. Folks gladly volunteer their photos and success stories on our facebook page. Maybe that's a problem for Tarkett customers.

  • awful advice you need to do a rh test of the subfloor must be below 75%rh, the floor needs to be primed as the concrete is a porous substrate and won't adhere properly.

  • Excellent video and good, practical tips! Greetings from Mexico City!

  • How do the tiles hold up with a car driving up on them?

  • @zetapsicq Although I've tiled my garage floor, I don't use it for my car. However, we've had dozens of customers who have. One customer reported peeling of a tile which is directly under his tail pipe and another told me he had to replace 2 tiles over the course of time. So holding on to whatever is left over from your initial installation is a good idea.

  • Thank you for your question. There's no reason moisture should be a problem. When you install the tile, you'll position each piece to be tight against each other piece without spaces. That's natural because it will look terrible if you don't! I wouldn't expect anyone to let water stand on their floor either. If you're concerned about mopping, don't worry. Mop away. This will not be an issue.

  • Great vid... I hope you're still monitoring your youtube because I do have one question about tile vs vinyl roll... I have dogs, and I'm concerned about moisture getting in between tiles... is this a known problem? I'll admit up front I'm in the wrong country to buy from you sadly but your vid is good, I'm inclined to believe you

  • Excellant,thank you !

  • Great video.... Thank you... I tiled my garage about 5 years ago... Best thing I ever did.. Used Armstrong tile... See photos on my Youtube Movies...

  • Excellent instruction, clear, concise and real! Thank you.

  • How has your garage tile held up with cars driving on it or changes in weather? I would think the heating and cooling in a garage would cause tiles to shift and pop.

  • Great question. Thank you. I have personally had experience installing tile over top of a sticky surface from where we removed peel & stick tile. It worked out great. You SHOULD KNOW, however, we removed our own brand of tile and replaced it with our own brand. So the adhesive was exactly the same. While I can make no guarantees as to the compatibility with another brand's adhesive with the adhesive of our brand, I think it should be fine.

  • i took my old tiles off my garage and the floor is sticky with the old glue that they used, can i still put the new tiles on it?

  • Have you had any problems with the tiles slipping when you drive a car into a garage and stop?

  • No, we don't carry Armstrong. Ours is called Nexus.

  • What brand name do you use, armstrong?

  • If you have trouble areas, I find it VERY effective to spray 3M Super 77 adhesive on the floor before applying the tile. You will not be able to easily remove the tile later, so be sure you want that tile on your floor. A heat gun will speed up removal of the tile if you need to make repairs or remove the flooring later.

  • @briancase1972 Thank you for your comment. I've only had 2 or 3 complaints about the tile in the last 11 years and ultimately it was revealed to me that each one of the customers who complained admitted to using additional adhesive. Additional adhesive will almost never work and will void the warranty. If you buy our tile, please do NOT be tempted to use extra adhesive.

  • @mazerwholesale Sorry but I do not believe you. I rehab and flip homes and I have never seen peel n stick tiles work well, I only use them because they're look good for the cheap price. Actually I found this video while searching for a solution to peel n stick tiles separating. Experts recommend using primer, VCT adhesive, and heating the tiles a bit before putting them down. Now I'm prepared for my next cheap rehab :)

  • @lifehackertips Well, friend....I have experience selling this brand of tile for 11 years to retailers and end users. I've used it in many different types of applications in my warehouse, showroom and office. My kitchen in my own home AND my garage. I have demonstrated it in several videos and have numerous testimonials from satisfied customers on our website and Facebook page. I would venture to say, you have been buying the wrong brand. (and probably paying too much as well!)
