I have had a cockatiel for a year and a half and he is also very territorial. For the most part he is sweet but gets pissed when I touch anything in his cage. He's also a little dick when on or near anything with a reflective surface. It's typical for birds to get vain so I don't let him have mirrors :) They are a mix of awesome and irritating.

I read that it's good for a parrot to have an enemy toy so he can get his aggression out on it. Being that the camera wasn't being shoved in his face and was just sitting there in his territory, the fact that he attacked it and chased it away may have made him feel pretty darn good about it.
