Why should he? Anderson silva is the best 185 fighter in the world right now yet the ufc keeps having guys who arent that good fighting him, the ufc has crappy fighters outside there champs. Strikeforce 185 class is leaps and bounds better then the ufc and you want silva to show respect against guys who shouldnt be at that level. Hes ok on the ground and ok on his feet and he was supposed to be the ufc guy? I believe what happened in the later rounds was that Silva realized he had gone a little overboard with the clowning and humiliating of Maia, and in his embarrassment, chose to let the fight go the distance. He's a spiritual fighter and his religion does not condone showboating, that's probably why he restrained himself the way he did.
