@flipzhat It was originally done by Boso gangs, basically they'd steal the ring handles from the subway trains (as in the passenger handles for when standing up) and then flaunt them on their cars as a bit of a 'F**K you' to the law. Most people just buy them now I think, not quite as cool :P

Largely for show, I believe. It does have the advantage of creating an extremely stable car in extreme cornering conditions, but you're right, if it has any power it would get tail happy when it tried to put it's power to the ground coming out of the corner

@GReddySTi05 Most true bosozoku cars have enslosed resonators welded some where onto the exhaust pipe. The larger the resonator the deeper the tone it eleminates. But the other end of the resonator has to be closed off and it has to be a larger diameter then the actual piping. the was a post about it on bosozokustyle(.com) but i couldnt find it or else i would have sent you the link.
