  • why does the Narrator sound like spock or a damned robot ?

  • if that is remote china, what is the white boy doing there?

  • 5:30 Wow Battle of Yonkers !!!!!!!

  • First known patient.

  • i dont understand in the book it says patient zero, had been bitten on the foot while in the water, so that would imply there was already zombies in that sunken city so he wasnt really patient zero, could anyone clear up that inconsistency for me????

  • @garbageday99 The kid was the first one they ACTUALLY came across...I got the feeling Brooks was hinting that perhaps it was one of the leftover's from the "recorded attacks" in the Survival Guide...at the end of the Zombie Survival Guide he comments about how attacks are getting more frequent and so forth. I could be wrong of course but that was the feeling I got reading the two. :)

  • @garbageday99 my thoughts exactly.

  • damn that music! it scared the hell out of me!

  • quislig

  • New York license plates in Tibet? 1:32

  • Wow....very very very good.

  • w8 shouldn't the blood of the zombies be black?

  • This was clever....and not like dancing poopoo on marionette stings

  • not bad, not bad. But Try not to give a zombie the warped voice, they sound more possessed when you do that. I suggest doing a simple loud moan, just that, having the person moan as they exhale and inhale.

  • Why cant they eat there selves they cant fell pain?

  • @mrchickenfingers Their blood is poisoness, but since poison doesn't effect them, I guess whatever drives them to eat other living things just doesn't drive them to eat themselves.

  • Lol, China would be the worst place to be in if there was a Zombie epidemic.

  • yeah, highest population density

  • so would major cities like Tokyo!

    or Mumbai!

  • @PhilipineMan i think china would be the worst place to be in just about any situation.... jk

  • what type of project and was it easy

  • not to bad a good try better than some :)

  • hey para todos los que no saben ingles y se quieren leer este exelente libro con una muy buena traduccion al español solo haganmelo saber respondiendo a este comentario

  • wow of course the virus breaks out in china, where else?

    black plague

    bird flu

    now solanum!

  • the battle scene was wrong. "1 shot a second, and only to the head"

  • and half the voices had the wrong tongue

  • it was rly lame but I liked it

  • what was the name of the music they used at the snow zombie scene, when the one guy was fighting them off in the woods

  • Great but I did not like the guy who was the doctor, he did not have much emotion when he delivered his lines. But film wise it was fantastic!

  • thats not a moan...

  • I bought this book yesterday. It was pure sex to read.

  • i rly liked it! but 1 tip. according to the book solanum doesnt produce blood when u stab or shoot a zombie, its only black around the wound. 5/5 it was a gr8 vid!

  • If I remember, that depends on the zombie doesn't it? I thought I remembered fresh zombies having blood left over enough to bleed...if they got older then about a day or so though yeah, the blood would all be coagulated.

  • yea, the black crust forms after a period of the zombie being dead as such. for a short amount of time the blood would be there. thanks for the info =)

  • Very good. A great tribute to a great book. You also picked some of my favorite scenes to do. :)

  • great video i love that book!

  • and why's there white people in tibet?

  • Whys it gotta be china? lol

  • That's where the book said the pandemic started :)

  • Yeah i know lol I have the book, still at least get asian extras yknow?

  • lol true true..

  • good work folks!

  • i have this book so fare its good.

  • Excellent job.

  • Nicely done

  • No pues echale mas ganas no Fijate en los efectos como por ejemplo los disparos

  • dud i have the max broos zombie guide word z

  • is it as well written as the survival guide cuz I dont know if i should get it

  • World War Z is an amazing book. It is a must read in my opinion.

  • nice job on the shoulder cam lol jk

  • excelent, 5/5. could use some video effects on the guns like some muzzle flashes.

  • the pilot's weapon was silence.

during the battle at Hope, the soldiers didn't advance towards the zombies. they held their formation and let the z's come to them. also, remember that they constantly said that they only used semi-automatic weapons. full auto was a waste of ammunition. should tone down the machine guns. ........but.......... i thought it was pretty good for what you had to work with.

  • also the blind guy killed in his first strike

  • OMG Awesome.

i dont know what to Say :O

  • mike, where did you film this?

  • i think you did a great job!

its obviously low to no budget, but its creative and you paid attention to detail.

Don't let technicalities discourage you. Majority of hollywood covers are slightly altered. Continue doing what you're doing. Its admirable.

  • Yeah your the EPIC FAIL he couldnt go to mexico WOW i bet you couldnt even do this

  • So cool. you guys must have a great time making this vid. Wish I could have joined you.

  • Epic fail.

A mistake you made, the battle in Boulder actually took place in Hope, New Mexico.

  • very good i loled when it said: hostle infantry spotted

  • Good Work.

  • great vid!

  • was this the first chapter. where that doc was in china in that small village. i think it was one of the first outbreak

  • Huh, seemed like a pretty remote location..and from what I can tell, it didn't show them actually aiming down range at the people approaching, it was pretty much just alternating vantage points...I don't see why one couldn't just use live rounds or blanks to add a bit of extra realism. Sure it push the budget up some but if you already had working firearms(not sure of that of course.)..then why not? ((no offense, just curious))

  • But Zombies don't bleed, but let out weird black/brown gooey stuff if I remember correctly in the book.

  • Omg, CS:S gunfire at the Colorado interview. I love that.

  • Well done. But, may I offer a bit of constructive criticism? The downed female pilot would be wearing a flightsuit (but I know those are hard to come by). That blind man wouldn't stand a chance. And the caption "Peoples Republic of Tibet" should be changed to read, "Tibet Autonomous Region, Peoples' Republic of China". Good luck!

  • May I offer a correction to your critique. That speaker was living in Tibet (XiZang) at the time of the interview, but he referred to events that happened while he was living in Kashi, a city in XinJiang Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China, on the border with Kryzykstan. (The speaker probably moved to Lhasa during the ensuing panic in PRC.)

  • Another correction as well. That blind man was Sensei Ijiro, who according to the book, was one bad ass zombie killer with his spear. :D

  • I gotta say , i don't usually go for student made films but seeing as it was based on one of my favorite books I had to check it out.

U guys did an excellent job with what u had.

It was amazing how much detail u tried bringing over from the book.

    I am truly impressed!!

    Great Work.

  • Not bad for a bunch of school students.

    Actually pretty decent.

  • Excellent video. Enjoyed it very much.

  • you did an amazing job. you put alot of thought into it. plan b the studio thats making the movie should have you guys help!!

  • Fucking great work guys is great that u made such an accurate video without a 50 million budget.

  • This was an awesome visual representation of the book.

But... muzzle flashes from the weapons the soldiers were using would of made that scene a little more awesome.

  • lol the zombies are eatting a person in the tree

  • good job, especially for a school project!

  • only the blind guy hit the zombies between the eyes most of the time for the first hit, then he finished them off in the brain. although over time he got better and was able to hit them in the brain with one hit. then he'd burry the bodies

  • this is actually the most accurate representation of the book i've seen. great job

  • nice film, good acting, great sets but i agree with the rest of them the blood needs 2 be thicker, and mybe a litle more around the mouth, but other that great film u guys!

  • The zombies blood should be thicker and brown

  • The video is good, but shouldn't the zombie's blood be thicker?

  • yeah! go airsoft guys!

  • nice use of tomatoes for blood

  • rule #1: don't get bitten

    rule #2: kill the bastards

    rule #3: kill yourself lol

  • the best Zombie video i've seen on you tube the rest are crap..

  • thats pritty gd consierin some of the crappy unoffical trailers ive seen

cant wait for the proper film

    the book was great

  • weeena!!! reconosimiento a su video desde chileee!!!!

    bles

  • Fucking Awesome!

  • great vid man

    the book was awesome

  • id just have my M4 a1 and my back pack full of an assload of ammo and domolish any undead in my town! VIVA LATINO AMERICA!

  • Well I'd have my potato peeler and gardening implements and demolish the undead in my town into fits of giggles (we don't get to have guns in this country) VIVA RURAL HAMPSHIRE!

  • LOL nice mang but i still prefer my firearms

  • dam if i had a gun like the guys i would save the worl\

  • They bleed 'cos they're not zombies. They have rabies.

  • They don't have rabies . . . African Rabies was just a nickname for the virus because South Africa was where the virus became really public and zombies kind of act like rabid mammals. Best bet is that they weren't trying to represent blood so much as bodily fluid as corpses are moist things.

  • yeah dude its not rabies its actually Salomun a virus that stops the function of all the boddily organs except the brain. So no blood and no rabies it was just a nickname cause the government didn't want to tell the whole world "hey guess wut we have had wars but this one is a zombie war. Have fun killiong ur family and friends"

  • It's spelled Solanum.

  • who's voice is that it is kinda annoying and monotone.... they are dead they cantbleed..the part about the blind guy was so badly acted..and he was asian in asia!! not the woods..he cut there heads off one strke not poked them...dumb

wow i cant say enogh crap about this it plain sucked.. excerpts taken from book are good..the book was the best i have ever read concerning zombies..that pretty much it..

  • Good fucking effort. That vid was tits!

  • Sweet! the ending gave me chills.

  • hope the losers that made this get ate

  • That was a pretty good job. Very impressed with the scenery, it fit really well for all the stories there!

  • at 5:21 when he says "hostile infantry spotted over" thats from battle field two its a recording...

  • i noticed your zombies BLEED are those quislings ?

  • dead by dawn, dawn by dawn!!!

  • LMAO

  • They did a great job! But, the Raj Singh line was kind of messed up. The soldiers were prone. They never moved, the aimed for the head, and they never, EVER charged like the Russians did. But, it was a great movie!

  • And they had the blue BDUs, not camo, and they had SIRs, all semiautomatic.

  • Yep, they also never wore armor untill they started having encounters with Ferals, LaMOES and rebels.

  • Well, unless you count the BDUs themselves, kevlar and all... The hood was a great feature. I can't believe nobody else did that.

  • Ending song is Clubbed to Death by Rob Dougan, you can find it on soundtrack for The Matrix among other places.

  • This book is amazing.

    I love it.

  • The story about the pilot chick at the end of this video was one of my fave stories from the book.

  • what is the ending song? plz respond

  • what is the ending song? plz respond

  • cool. just asking how much did this all cost?

film making and props and stuff?

  • Impressive.5/5

  • 4:15-5:30 ftw! Great work here, guys.

  • AWESOME JOB GUYS!!!!

  • Excellent film guys! I can see you had a limited budget with which to make this, and it still is very well done.

Just wanted to ask: What music was playing from 4:42 to 5:38?

  • yeah i want to know too!!

  • Requiem For A Dream

  • That was GREAT. The only thing that bothered me was that once turned undead, the zack's shouldnt have had red blood, it should have been thicker and black. Great job!

  • This was fucking AWSOME !!!

  • the pilot sequence was supposed to be in Louisiana, and her gun was silenced. Still, it is more faithful than anything Hollywood would ever make.

  • just finished reading the book yesterday, and this is an awesome tribut. kudos

  • the shooters first error. they moved TO the enimy. if your target is closing, let them do the marching, not you.

  • +good movie +it was pretty good quality +the blind guy :D +good story +sometimes you get scared when you watch the movie -sometimes you get scared when you watch the movie (this is both a good and a bad thing) -bad blood quality -to much blood -bad gun fire sound -the zombie acters could be better -the shoting scenes is bad quality i rate this movie to 67% (good)
  • What one of those dudes in the battle scene was using an M4 grenade launcher like a pump action shotgun LO. good movie

  • Extremely good job. Way to stay true to the original text.

  • great job, thanks for posting. things like this will keep me going til the movie comes out

  • zombies dont bleed that much. besides that great film hope you make more

  • well it was a pretty good video

but i have to criticize you on a few things

I don't mean this in any mean way either so please don't be mad (and i also don't really know wat curcumstances you shot this in)

    1. In kyoto, Tomonaga Ijiro killed zombies with a shovel with one strike almost every time.

    2. That one battle was fought in Hope, New Mexico. The soldiers were trained to get head shots every time.

    3. The womans plane crashed in louisiana in the byaou

  • In my opinion (I cannot speak for the author) and having read the book I think these things are forgivable at least, done for cinematic purposes. and about the first one, i think the marsh pictured was close enough.

  • I guess

i wasn't trying to be mean at all

(i finshed the book like ten minutes before watching this so you can understand i guess)

It was still a great video.

  • Not a shovel but a shaolin spade which in fact while it sounds like a shovel is actually a crescent blade on a long staff

  • Dude, Nice! Could have used some more enthusiastic sombie actors and some real blanks to shoot off, but other than that, hell yeah. Awesome job on the music, very suspenseful. I'd have given you an A...

  • it was a pretty sweet video

  • Schweet!

  • i bet the battle of yonkers is going to be hellafun to watch

  • not bad, kid. Though I would have liked to see the Hope battle kept to specs.

  • Having read the book, and loved it, I can say this is an AWESOME recreation of the encounter with "Patient Zero" and other incidences. Simply awesome. Favorited!

  • i forgot paitient zero

(i read the book and loved it)

paitient zero was a great scene

  • not how i exactly imagined it but VERY good I wold make one like this but i cant find enough volenteers to help ...very good job tho

I Thought that the blind Japanese guy was in a summer open green field tho

  • this is really really good! lol only thing is the doctors chinese.. great music and effects!

  • yeah he was in the book. so why shouldn't he be in the movie?

  • nvm.. my point was his accent.. but a project like this it really doesn't mater

  • Nice, the Battle of Hope should have had the blue BDUs for the GIs, though.

  • This is an awesome video, good job

  • I want to find a book about teenagers being stranded in a city...and trying to get out but cant becuz of zombies!! anyone know any>

  • If I were your teacher, I'd give you an A++++. This was done pretty dang well.

  • Some of th esound efects are from battle field 2

  • Very nice for a school project! It must've taken a week or two!

  • I still give you top marks for this wonderfully done film. Still, I have to air one particular grievance with the "Battle of Hope" and the use of machine-gun sound effects; all the rifles used by that point in the US were semi-automatic and they were trained to only shoot once every second.

Total nitpick, and it's the only thing I can really fault you guys on an otherwise brilliant job.

  • Excellent job, I am very impressed!!!

  • This is nifty.

During the scene with the blind man however, I would not have played any music. The significance of that scene lays in requiring to hear the zombies, their every breathe and step. The music pretty much ruined it. Otherwise though, well done :)

  • I can see the blood bag in the guys hand.. lol but great movie i loved it

  • To all the ppl who r saing this is all real... you know max brooks publicly declared his books were a work of fiction right? and all the accounts, though most have some factuality behind them, e.g. names, places, dates etc... didnt actually happen. they were products of max brookes imagination... i think the books are great and sound realistic but ppl like you scare me cus your so easily swayed into beleiving stuff...rant over lol

  • I'd carry a machete, a revolver and a papper spray in my purse...no zombie is doing anything to ME.

  • Pepper spray won't affect a zombie. They feel nothing.

  • ok, fine, but how about the machete and the revolver...besides, i can scream really loud.

  • Oh yeah, you totally want to scream loud and attract more. Also, toss that machete, you don't want to get in arms length of those things.

  • Toss the mechete?! Dude... blades dont need reloading... its better to have something then have nothing when you need to reload.

  • keep the machete and the revovoler try to use machete it's quiet and don't scream! try to stay quiet and keep moving

  • use PIE rounds or a good old samuri sword

  • zombies have icor. Ist thicken blood like oil in their veins. their muscles work like hydrolics.. This is why people seemto have a hard time getting away once the zeds get ahold of them. it's like being held in hydrolic claw.

  • I OBJECT!

1 blind guy always kills with the first stroke

2 at 3.12 and 5.20 it shows blood pouring from a zombies gut... zombies dont bleed, and I doubt there that many Quislings(sp?)

On the whole, it is beter than anything I could have done. Nice job.

  • Thats not always 100% true about number 2...

zombies can bleed after being shot, stabbed, or other wise punctured. but only if they are just recently zombies... cause there is still blood in the veins most of the time... so if its a fresh zombie... then they can bleed... if its a old zombie then the blood is most deffinitly all dried up... and then your Number 2 is right.

  • yea you kinda messed up on somestuff in this video but nice though 4/5

  • hey i think u did a nice job on this but there's 2 big things you missed the zombies in the book froze in the winter and the blind man always killed them on the first strike

  • awesome video man, well done!

  • That was amazing!

  • hey fuck you djvos you can go suck a dick why the fuck do you quote the book? im sorry if you cant understand that some people have imaginations and like to "belive" in stuff like this. its just for fun. plus when they do come your fucked

  • It's not the Torah, Koran, or Bible. It's a book. Jeez-Luh-weez!

  • Great job guys

  • first off. people need to stop refering to the zombie survival guide like its a damn bible. no, you dont have an M1 Garand, and no, you dont have a shaolin spade or island in the southern pacific to settle on. so please stop the "according to... , in one chaper it explains..., but the handbook says..."

other than that, this is a great video. props to the maker.

  • THANK YOU!!!!!!!! i hate it when people quote that ridiculous book

  • Max Brooks has publicly stated that his works are fictional. You just need to stop being such a kill joy. Have an open mind, you never know what could happen.
