I've noticed a few differences in the wording of the game - is that because I live in the UK? I thought they were all the same... :) Some good play, there.
Yeah, there are slight naming differences between the US and the UK. My guess is that they were translated independently between Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe.
Haha, when I'm on the coin match, I just drive around, expecting my team mates to grab them all, but when coins are near me.. I take them (: XD I just got Mario Kart yesturday, and I love it!
Hey, Overhazard. Is control with the Wii wheel difficult? I'm still a little skeptical about using it being that using them in most racing games isn't my forte, but I hear that you can't do everything control-wise without it.
The Wii Wheel needs some getting used to, and it's certainly not for everybody. It's a love-it-or-hate-it thing. You should see if it works for you first before you commit yourself to it.
A data packet is a bunch of data sent among all the users in something online. The way SSBB works is that each player's Wii must confirm that every game has been told of everything before it can let something happen. That's what slows it down.
Mario Kart Wii doesn't do that; it lets you play your own thing while streaming the other players' actions to you for the game to display. It'll only send packets regarding items or hazards and only to the people involved.
What is a data packet system? I do think how I know how the lag is different, in Mario Kart Wii when there is lag it is the other racers that move erratically, not yourself, while in SSBB everyone will lag if there is lag. It probably woud be ackward if only everyone else lagged in SSBB plus the fact that there are much more constant button imputs probably impacts this as well.
That's right. Lag in Mario Kart Wii is represented through erratic motions of other players, as well as them getting hit by items that don't look like they hit them. And in SSBB, when there's any amount of lag from any player, everybody feels it.
The big difference is that there is a huge amount of interaction between the players in SSBB but not quite so much in Mario Kart Wii.
You got it right looks, understand me

This is the name of the stage in the American version. Similarly, our DK Summit is your DK Snowboard Cross.

Indeed, they did.

Oh, they did? I never played much of DS's Battle Mode, so I didn't know that. I'll fix it.

I'm not sure about the Cube multiplayer, but Coin Runners is similar to the Shine mode from MKDS, except nobody gets eliminated for the least amount.

Don't you lag with Mario kart?
And do you use a router or a usb stick?
TrueWarrior45 3 years ago
yes or you can go wired with lan adapter
JonnyJE 3 years ago
There's no lag with Mario Kart Wii. It uses a different data packet system than SSBB.
Overhazard 3 years ago
How come SSBB doesn't have this data packet?
