  • seriously hes driveing without a seatbelt and hes writeing tickets for cell phone usage which i see the cops in my area driveing and talking on there phones all the time asshole.

  • @sk8der333 Seat belt laws don't apply to law enforcement officals, you idiot. It's up to the law enforcement agency to apply a policy regarding the issue. Educate yourself. It's in the California Vehicle Code.

  • 1:47 ticket no seat belt

  • @rygo30 See above, ignorant one.

  • @miguelitosanchez above where would you kindly tell me

  • Y do they give us tickets for cell phone use. Wen they use theres allllll the time. I pray they get In a car crash for using it..fuck the.dirtys as cops. U fucking pussys

  • @146214621462 Law Enforcement can use them because dispatch also contacts them thru the cell phones instead of by the radio. and most now have blue tooth for their vehicles

  • Very Nice, I wish they left me alone though!

    lawenforcementoday.cim

  • what happened to our freedom this is AMERICA WTF is going on why do we need to have our civil liberties to talk on the cell phone be compromised by the PIGS!

  • I will become a California Highway Patrol Officer, and you can be 100% sure I will stop EVERYONE using a cellphone wile driving. The best part is that I'm going to enjoy it so much....... =9

  • its just funny that i ALWAYS SEE COPS DRIVING AND TALKING ON THEIR CELL PHONES!!!!! SO I WONDER, IS THIS LAW JUST FOR CIVILIANS OR DOES IT APPLY TO COPS TOO WHILE DRIVING THEIR UNITS???? CAN SOME ONE PLEASE ANSWER MY ?

  • @MrChila86 Cell phone laws don't apply to law enforcement in the scope of their duties. Calm down.

  • way to waste taxpayer money!

  • Do something better with your time!!!!

  • I think it's a good law, however, I think peace officers need to stop taking their seat belts off while still moving in their vehicles.

  • Sorry, I mistyped. He had 2 deployments in Iraq and one in Afghanistan.

  • Comment removed

  • Actually please watch out any cellphone usages hands free or not is atleast very dangerous please view the video It Takes Just Seconds... by NatlSafetyCouncil on YouTube please do NOT be decieved by bluetooth (handsfree) safety claims even a few seconds of bluetooth usage(s) while driving is very dangerous.

  • Most people in Ca are retarded and can't drive, good job officer.

  • chp is awesome, got pulled over the other day, and the guy was pro, they'll never pull you over for no reason. they are just pro

  • So, when driving I can change my radio while eating bbq ribs and have a conversation with the people in the car. BUT, I can't talk on the phone while driving... I am sorry people, but this is a load of shit. The law prevents talking on the phone and driving, but not eating and driving, not operating a radio and driving.... A LOAD OF SHIT. Cops are ignorant fools who harass citizens.

  • @SoulShepherd84

you do realize that you are operating a maschinery (driving a car) and should pay attention (to the traffic) while you do so,iam not sure but i dont think your boss on work would or does appreciate it if you would hang on the cell, eat, read, shave, fill out paper work, watch a movie etc etc while you operate maschinery there, simply because he would have to pay your bill (insurance) if something happen to you,you should have the same responsibillity toward others on the road your on

  • @SoulShepherd84 go bitch about it to Congress. They make the laws. Police just enforce it. You are obviously to ignorant and idiotic to realize that. Your parents didn't raise you properly. Also, they make this law because a high number of people were TEXTING while driving which is just as dangerous as drinking and driving. Do some research little child.

  • @BNSFDisneyZildjian So my opinion means I was not raised properly? Maybe it is the countless encounters with police I have had that lead me to realize I would personally be better of without their help. Sounds to me like you are really young.

  • @SoulShepherd84 About 2 weeks ago maybe 3, a San Diego Police officer was shot and killed. Officer Jeremy Henwood. Not only was he a keeper of the peace, but he was a Marine who was deployed 3 times to afghanistan to fight for your freedom. I completely say you have a right to your opinion but it is wrong. I also have had some bad encounters with officers but there are still many out there who are there to help and protect. Officer Henwood was shot for no reason and was a caring good man

  • driving while smoking a joint is safer than cell phone/texting

  • 6years, not a rookie. he's 10-8!

  • Yeah, we all know how how dangerous those soccer moms with kids in the SUV are.....They all be packing .40 gats huh? I know the rookie in the vid is all excited to be issuing a ticket to a soccer mom, must be a real rush for him....Sad we have to pay metermaids 100K plus a year in this state.

  • 1:42 ... isnt this joker in violation of driving a motor vehicle without a seat belt?

  • teens can't talk or text on a cell phone here in ga but if you're 18 or older you can talk on your cell while driving but no texting

  • that's funny. everytime I see a cop drive by they have a cell phone glued to their ear?

  • I live in Oakland, CA. If you've seen OPD or BART police vehicles driven by, notice that they always talking on the phone while driving, but then they'll give motorists tickets for doing that. That's bullshit, they should be role model.

  • @james2322001 It ain't about being a role model. It's about making money.

  • @james2322001 Law enforcement is exempt from that law because there are many cases where they need to use it whether to communicate with dispatch, call up a witness, call up a suspect, or just listen to voicemail.

  • I Drive while talking on the phone a lot. Almost got in about 3 accidents in the last 2 weeks. i think i am going to cut back. Not worth it. one second

  • so wheres this cops seat belt ticket? thats the kinda shit that pisses me off, cops are hypocrites

  • @CaliforniaXlivin He did have his seat belt on. He took it off while he was initiating the traffic stop. Also how is he being a hypocrite? He is stopping the lady for talking on a cell phone not a seat belt violation.

  • @CaliforniaXlivin Exactly. He had it on but took it off WAY before stopping. It is illegal to take the car out of "park" without a seatbelt on.

  • @lizard944 It is a thing cops do just I in case the guy getting pulled over tries to run. Then the cop can get out without having his seatbelt in his way. And it is legal for cops not to wear their seatbelt on duty but many departments have a policy that make the officers wear their seatbelt.

  • @CaliforniaXlivin Looks like he was wearing it to me

  • good cop!!! cnt wait till i be one

  • The stickers thing was cute :P

  • I am so glad we're paying this clown 100K a year to look for people talking on cell phones. That must be a real exciting job huh?

  • @neckarsulme that's what the state of california hired him to do.......enforce laws

  • @02DodgeViper It's safety correct? It's too bad they don't take safety into account themselves and not use a cellphone while they are driving as well as operating a motor vehicle without their safety belt. If the State of California is paying this guy 1ooK plus a year to enforce traffic laws, he may want to issue himself a citation, or let his supervisor review the tape of himself taking his seatbelt off while driving his patrol car, and have the Sgt. issue him a citation. Do as I say not i do?

  • @neckarsulme If you watch the video he takes his safety belt off as he is pulling over the vehicle. Most officers do this in case they have to make a quick exit of the vehicle as they are stopping a vehicle. Don't get me wrong that I believe that officers should wear their safety belts but here he is looking out for his own safety by taking it off 100 feet before the vehicle is stopped in case someone jumps out with a gun and tries to shoot him.

  • No their not there to prevent accidents dumbass

  • MONEY!! All about money!!! Tickets are a complete scam.

  • Fighting crime aye?

  • crossing guards with a badge

  • Wow.....more money taken by the California Highway Pirates.

  • @neckarsulme If there weren't so many idiotic drivers then the "pirates" would not be getting as much money.

  • @aGWARfan Why stop with cell phones? How about eating a cheeseburger, drinking coffee, changing CDs/radio stations? You do realize this is strictly about revenue generation right? This has nothing to do with safety, and all about generating money, and jusifying paying a traffic cop $120,000 a year.

  • If I would've had my kids in the backseat, I probadly wouldn't have gotten a ticket!

  • what a fag! LOL god damn i hate police! they're such sell outs... and dont really question anything important. Believe me my dads a cop.

  • Comment removed

  • @mrbonaparte What right is that? Driving is NOT a right. Cell phones and even home phones are NOT a right, they are privileges! Meaning, there are rules to follow, if you can't follow them, then you don't get the privilege, or you get to pay more to keep that privilege. People who complain about getting ticketed for driving while on a cell phone are just whiners who got caught. If you're talking on the phone, the odds are you're not paying attention to what's around you.

  • @WeedPatch71 You're absolutely right. As for the argument "neckarsulme" made about the other things people do while driving:

    1. Cars have cupholders for beverages

    2. You don't hold a car radio in your hand

    3. People don't hold CDs to their ears.

The one thing I can see being a hazard is eating while driving. But I don't know what the DOT stats are about how many accidents are caused by people eating at the wheel.

  • @WeedPatch71 This law is NOT about "talking on cell phones." It's about HOLDING THEM UP TO YOUR EAR. Ol' "neckars" doesn't seem to get that.

  • @WeedPatch71 The new phone laws have NOTHING to do with safety. It's about revenue generation. Cell phones have been around for 25 years but they're suddenly becomming a problem? What a coincidence that many states are strapped for cash and millions have a cell phone. So the gov't creates a new "boogie man"; the cell phone. But please continue to drink (under the legal limit.) If they were serious about safety, they would ban all alcohol while driving, but that will kill bars and alcohol tax.

  • @lizard944 True.

  • Very a Nice ....

  • i didn't know the press democrat had a channel.... looks like i got 298 videos left to watch......

  • I was almost hit 3 times yesterday and almost observed a head on at 70 (with a child in the car) all while people were screwing with their dumbass phones on the highway. Completely ignorant.. it's just as bad as drinking and driving IMO.

Really glad they're finally doing something about it.

  • hahahaha heres your ticket, and your stickers...lol

  • @jacobrogers18 He gave her a warning.

  • maybe they should give away bluetooths to all ca. motorists. even if they're just cheapies. fuck it.

  • in ca they can write for cell phone use without a hands free device

  • Comment removed

  • There's $100K gone to waste.

  • I'm glad police are cracking down on cell phone drivers, that kind of careless driving causes a lot of accidents every year, i can't tell you, and I'm sure you know how many times a lot of us have had close calls with idiots driving on their phones almost wrecking others

  • It's a law not that you can not hold a cell phone while driving. Simple as that.

There is no reason to mention other actions by CHP when the purpose of this video is stopping people who are violating the cell phone law.

  • I'd like to mention the CHP officer not wearing his seatbelt before coming to a complete stop. And that the law is stupid, when police / law enforcement have to talk on their radios ; and they don't make it illegal for you to look down and find a song on your ipod do they? Or text message?

Where do we draw the line? No more slowing down to find a street name because it's dangerous? No more GPS Navigation?

YAWN. Some people would get a walking permit if you told them they had to.

  • Ha, you haven't lived in Cali very long have you? They take off their seat belts before they get out in case they need to quickly get out and take action. In California, cops can get shot just for writing a traffic ticket, or are just stopped at a traffic light.

  • You seem to be a smart person. How about you review the stats before commenting. The CHP's job is to make sure the ppl stay safe. Cell phones are the cause for many traffic collisions. You can complain all you want, but since the cell phone law was established, it has made a difference in traffic collisions. Also, the officer has to take the seatbelt off prior to the stop in case an occupant in the car comes out shooting. it is also not legal to use the ipod if you aren't driving safe.

  • Glorified babysitters... way to take a bite out of crime... a law made by insurance companies extorted for the benefit of the state.... why not bring up the fact that they are over ticketing now because they will soon suffer budget cuts. Public safety... bs dive right into our pockets and extort us in the name of the law. What kind of bs propaganda is this... I've never seen warnings given... douche bags

  • EXACTLY.

  • Argonaut1337................i almost got killed by a woman yakking on the cell phone...she was oblivious to the red light in front her fucking face. Totaled my new car, lost my business because i couldn't work for over three years ...back and head trauma.....and there has been similar situations because people are not paying much attention when on the cell....maybe you can drive and use a cell ph but many people cant ....i think this law is overdue

  • @couar351 I certainly can sympathize with you. And I hope you sued her over your injuries and lost. If anything got a lawyer against her insurance company.

  • Yet another bitter member of society. The CHP nor the State of California make money off citations. They can give you warnings just like you parents gave you. Just how many times did your parents have to give you a warning before you stopped doing what you were doing?? Stop being so stubborn and use your HANDS-FREE device. If you are using the internet, you must have some sense of technology.

  • Warnings?... the ticket is $135 ... and subject to 2009 you don't even have to pick up the phone. All you have to do is pick it up, look who's calling, and the officer can ticket you.... Don't believe me sit in traffic court and you'll see exactly how it plays out..... Again the Sherrifs of Nottingham are extorting the people for self preservation as opposed to due process of "progressive" laws.... I'd like to see them make all non injury traffic infractions $10... put that on the ballot!

  • Warnings!? Do you think that is what CHP's job entitles? Stop everyone and give them a warning because you don't agree with the law? Parents give their children warnings all the time. That doe not stop the child from doing it again. Give them a punishment and maybe they'll learn the first time. It is cheaper to buy a bluetooth or a cord headset, but people are too stubborn and stupid to buy one. Maybe just lazy!

  • read the comment..... $10.... I can spread the words out so as to help you claify my thought. Seeing that you can halfway spell and only fractionally comprehend I give up... understand when you are being taken advantage of thats all....

  • At least he's pulling people over for LEGITIMATE things now...instead of pulling random people over every 10 minutes outside gay bars hoping to catch a DUI, like he has been doing.

  • What DUI IS A JOKE TO YOU!? I HAVE LOST FRIENDS TO DUI DRIVERS

  • No, DUI is not a joke to me. You did not get my point, which is that Brian Wood pulls random people over for JUST FOR THE HELL OF IT and then hopes he can find something...anything...that he can write a citation for. I have quite a few friends in law enforcement and I have the utmost respect. It's been about 6 months since my last post and I think he's lightened up a bit, which I think is good. I was tired of watching him harass people that didn't deserve it.
