Okay, in the late 80s, CBS had a great list of kids shows that aired on Saturday Mornings. Here is a list of kids programs that ARE on DVD: Pee-Wee's Playhouse, Garfield & Friends, Hey Vern It's Ernest, and Mighty Mouse. And Here's the list of the remaining shows that AREN'T on DVD: Teen Wolf, The Muppet Babies, CBS Storybreak, Superman (the 80s cartoon version), The Californian Raisins. Don't know what's on CBS Saturday Mornings these days, but the late 80s was good time for kids TV.
@ShadowChanceSassy CBS Saturday mornings today is Cookie Jar TV, with shows like Busytown Mysteries, Horseland, Trollz, and the Doodlebops. A few years back, CBS had DIC shows like Sabrina, and for a short time, they had Nickelodeon shows. The bottom fell out in 1997 when Pres. Clinton and the government issued that all network kids shows had to have some educational material. That year, CBS had Wheel 2000, The SI for Kids Show, New Ghostwriter Mysteries, and The Weird Al Show.
@ShadowChanceSassy The lineup from 1997-98 hurt The Weird Al Show because Al had restraints on the humor and fun he usually does in his concerts, AL TV specials, etc. due to the E/I installments put on by the government. The season before (1996-97) CBS had The Mask, Ace Ventura, Beakman,Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Timon and Pumbaa,Secrets of the Cryptkeeper's Haunted House, Project G.e.e.K.e.R, and Bailey Kipper's P.O.V. As you can see, the government screwed kids of enjoying Saturday morning.
@specterkev yeah sat mornings jus isnt the same. I kno im 34 but hell if sat morning could go back to like they use to be hell ill get up early an watch em wit my son...lol
What the hell. MTV's teen wolf definitely is better than this. I see this as the kind of stuff you think is crazy to watch after moving up from Scooby- Doo. MTV's version is definitely more dark and humorous to people of teenage years and above
No I was saying that today's version is not anything like Twilight, my point was that today's version is WAY better than this cartoon. But it doesn't matter because trying to compare a comedy cartoon to a live action drama makes no sense.
@MrEddieswife because the new Teen Wolf is some shit about popular depressing people expanding on jacob from twilight and obviously this came before the new one sooo... to me New Teen Wolf is crap compared to this one AND it has a much better intro theme
If you do Netflix they have a bundle of retro toons now. BraveStarr, Bill & Teds Excellent Adventures, Voltron (Vehicle and Lion version), He-Man, She-Ra, The Littles, Inspector Gadget, SHAZAM, Fat Albert from the 80s, Ghostbusters (Filmation). They invested in a ton of Filmmation properties. They had Jayce n the Wheeled Warriors, it expired :( Robotech is expiring July 1, hopefully it comes back. Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite. Stream them to put on Netflix's radar n support retro!
Why didn't the werewolf design looks anything like the movie design ? I mean they actually show the movie model along side the cartoon design in the opening credits !
Could you imagine what Teen Wolf would be like if a live action tv show were to be produced by Joss Whedon? Teen wolf with a Buffy the Vampire Slayer feel to it.
Nice nod to the penis at the end of the movie in the bleachers lol. I'm a HUGE fan of the film, can quote every word of it, but I liked this cartoon too. Cartoons in the 80s and early 90s were the best. So was everything else actually.
@AmpersandsUnited that guy is Styles, Scott's best friend and he knows Scott is a werewolf...I get a bigger kick out of the scene where he has a bush in the car and is trying to hide behind it...lol =D
"Oh no! Not again!" I remembered this being a cartoon when I was a young teen. I loved Teen Wolf the movie so I automatically forced myself to love this too. Thanks for posting this.
@OfficialAvrilArrow You are 14 and you love the 80s!? You are the most awesome 14 year old in the world. :) I just want to adopt you. Just kidding. But you are awesome for loving the 80s. I didn't know any teens out there appreciated the "rad" style of the 80s.
wooooow i cannot believe i stumbled across this vid...i used to watch this when i was little...but it's been burried so deeply in the pile of old memories that i needed this vid to recall these old times...oh and it's a full moon comin' on tonight-quite a coincidence huh?-soooo...beware...!!! lol

I wouldn't get your hopes up. MTV has been known to make cruddy TV shows and remakes. This is just my opinion but I think you should really just stick with the original version.
@cybertail I recently watched the new Care Bears movie with Oopsie to see if it would be adorable like the 80s ones and I kept thinking they looked like playdoh. I was so bummed. I kept complaining to my husband saying "This is absolute crap." Why did they change everything? Anyway, I agree. Obviously.
Most 80's shows were just to sell toys and other merchandising. Getting nostalgic about them is retarded. There were rare exceptions like The Real Ghostbusters that had good writers behind them, but even friggin' Transformers was nothing more than an infomercial for metal/plastic junk. (Which is why I can't get angry at the Michael Bay movies...his movies terrible as they are are actually an improvement over how bad the show was.)
Bay makes decent movies. Most 80's shows and movies and music were and are the best and still are. Getting nostalgic is remembering the best times not the so called shit we have for entertainment now which is crappy ass music some good but not much, crappy reality shows and out the ass remakes of classics because Hollywood imagination is dead.
The 80s had a brief creative explosion at the early 80s from new wave music and then everything got very quickly homogenized and bland and commercialized. Ask DEVO about that.
There were also a lot of terrible tv shows in the 80s. No one wants to remember those though. But if you get nostalgic over 'small wonder' then you need your brain examined.
As for modern music its now easier than ever for artists outside the mainstream to be heard. If you cant find good music you aren't looking.
@Ultrasecond yeah there was some bad shows in the 80's but compared to the garbage now it was minor. Most music now just proves that wannabe singers can record shit and make money off it. Some good but compared to 20 to 25 years ago not much.
@silverrhawk dude, i agree with you 100%. Movies, music an tv shows will never beat the older days or the 80's. It sucks because it's hard to find a good movie out there anymore. we use way to much computer animation now a days, and we are lazy and un creative when making movies now. thats mostly why when i see a crap show on tv now...fake played out reality crap..that makes me want to stray more and go on here to watch the stuff that is at least worth watching.
@WillyWolverine Amen to that. and that is why I collect dvds of the older 80's and 70's shows so I can watch good shows and older cds to listen to good music whenever I choose but that is me.
@silverrhawk I agree with you, although I grew up in the 90s, I still appreciate some of the old 80s and even 70s shows and I sure as hell agree that todays stuff is horrible.
I don't even watch much TV cause most of it lost its creativity and imagination.
And what is even better with respect to your comment is that even some one of your age and the younger generation appreciates the "classic stuff" old but good and knows it is just that.
Yeah! I've watched a couple things from the 80s and 90s. I miss those days. The shows were less superficial and more entertaining. Some were complete with an interesting story.
Holy shit this took me back to when I was a kid!!!! I always wondered why I like watching wear wolf movies. For years the image of the wolf with shades played in my head. Now after so many years I found where it was from, the intro song to this cartoon.
One of the best cartoon themes ever, hands down! I remember when Teenwolf would come on after Pee-Wee's Playhouse, and it would be lots of fun to see this released on DVD one day. I know the chances are extremely low, but I'm just saying.
Why get so worked up over a harmless little thing such as a cartoon intro. To compare this or anything else that is make believe to one of the worst things that happened in the history of man, if not the worst is just arrogant and sad. I am not angry at you only full of pity for your ignorance. Hopefully in time you will not let the unimportant things in life influence your behavior. If it does then you may be in for a sad, sad life. Take care.
Hey, only in the 80's you get cartoons of transforming robots, man toting a sword while riding a green tiger, Jem and a werewolf toon to name a *few*. In short a VARIETY.
Now its a badly drawn strange talking sponge who lives in a pinapple under the sea.
lol omg i remeber watching this it was awesome!

Back when I was a kid, I actually liked the cartoon better than the movie. Nowadays,...it's a toss-up. Cartoon's still good after all these years.

One of the best cartoon themes ever, hands down! I remember when Teenwolf would come on after Pee-Wee's Playhouse, and it would be lots of fun to see this released on DVD one day. I know the chances are extremely low, but I'm just saying.

To simplelife88393,
Why get so worked up over a harmless little thing such as a cartoon intro.

WTF?!

However, movies based off of cartoons are usually worse, like He-Man, etc.
