  • Yawn ....................

  • I agree with Bassshred37 - Midi tracking is based upon identifying the fundimental harmonic and thus cannot be derived traditionally until the string has completed one cycle of vibration. What this is doing is tracking flawlessly on slow strings very quickly - thats impressive!

  • i think most of you are missing the whole point of this vidio hes testing the tracking of a new synth bass module to see if it can keep up with him.

  • when HE plays Finger he's GREAT master..i Like It a LOT.

When he does slap (and i saw many videos about) ,

Honestly it Does'nt play so much notes,so he can sounds "speedy and difficult" but it's not , it's chaotic and pointless and there are thousend of people who play at that speed, with clar notes too instead.

IF the name of the was'nt "Dickens" ,everybody

    would agree i believe.

Stay assured that HE is a Great musician in every Other aspects, hands down

  • I agree, the fast percussive style is only one resource for a bass player, but too much of it at once is boooooorning, no matter how cleanly done. And I don't even care who's playing, Mark King, Victor, anybody.

  • Came here to hear a bass controlled midi system....Got cheezy

  • Sometimes less is more!!!

  • He's cool, I just think he goes too fast and it just sounds like a jumble of clicks.

  • This is noise, not music. It's probably just a clip to show Ghost's tracking, but I think it does a disservice to Bill's musicality.

  • Bill Dickens is a great bass player. He's also a drummer to trade so let history show that a grounding in drumming can lead to greater things when the player chooses another instrument.Jaco,Mark king,Phil Collins...the list goes on.

Best wishes and learn those paradidles!

  • I did not know that he was a drummer first, certainly explains his passion for percussion. As I said it gets a little tiring to listen to but on the other hand it's the truly great ones that use one instrument to play everything they hear in their heads. Respect due to Mr Dickens - he plays guitar bass and drums on those huge Conklins of his.

  • It's a Cort Guitar he is playing. That is our booth, Graph Tech, and our Bass Guitar set up with our Ghost Pickup System.

  • All suckers with brains not big enough are just jealous of Dickens and criminally deny facts like he's also a great jazz player etc.etc. Man, this is tedious.

  • Someone say that's not a Squire he is playing.

  • Why would it be a squire?

  • ok. thats not a squire he is playing.

    looks like one though.

  • i think its a cort :S

  • the good thing about this guy is that he can play fingers or slap in a high level. Most of slapers when go to fingers are not so good

  • What makes a synth bass?

  • people need to lay of bill dickens all the videos you see of him hes doing a instructional video or is at a clinic where its his job to show off he is an amazing musicial.

  • lol you guys are dumb hes just slapping hes not just all about slapping .... hes a damn good bassist.

  • erm... he made that bass sound like it had one string and no frets. Good work bald fella!

  • Yeah i don't really like that super fast slap style, there's no groove or melody to it that you can feel.

  • Just a slapfest.

  • maybee the most un musical bass player off all time

  • He's cool, I just think he goes too fast and it just sounds like a jumble of clicks.

  • I am not a fan of this guy, he's too flashy...

  • not fair...
