you have to make it look like you want to play a straight stop ball, then when the shutle comes near the racket you follow the shuttle down with your racket a bit, then you have to turn your wrist and push the shuttle in the long crosscourt corner d;

can someone PLEEEEASE tell me the technique behind this? i know its hard to explain fakes as they come naturally, but i need a foundation so i can learn this fake.

Make it look as if you are playing a normal drive down the line, as he does, then just before you hit the shuttle, pull your racket back by cocking your wrist back and extending your little finger so it plays in the wrong direction but still using the same follow through you would normally use. I do it quite a lot and is effective enough to deceive, but I know I can improve on it to make it more subtle.

Lin Dan, Gade and LCW are all exceptional, but let's give a hypothetical example that they are all on their best form, I think Taufik would beat them all. They would all be marvelously good matches and extremely close, no doubt.

not to be advocating the bandwagon but i think Lin dan has waaaay to much pace control on his best form for any badminton player to be able to play their best against him.

@t3tsubo I think everyone has their prime... once Taufiq and Gade were champs, now Lin Dan and Lee are... but it's just a miracle how a player like Peter Gade, well into his 30s, can still play singles and be within top 5 ranks... In his prime Gade beat Lin Dan just like how he beats him today...

did you see lin dan play peter gade in the quarter finals of the worlds this year? that's the greatest badminton playing EVER from both parties. taufik's never played that well on his best day. i don't care what anyone says. gade was incredible but lin dan was god like.  they were all lover everything. taufik is amazing, yes... but he's lazy. remember the way gade smoked him in the all-england finals 10 years ago? ..and then he smoked gade this year? it's all relative

Well that's how badminton is... And yes I do agree, it was a really great match no doubt.. Both parties were on top form that day to put up such a match. But well, everyone has different views of greatest badminton they've seen.. I think the best play of Taufik is most probably the OG 2004, WC2005 and Macau Open 2008 against LCW he's on fire. (:

@therealsolstice LinDan was ranked #1 from age 19 or 20 multiple times, same with LCW, and peter gade has been high ranked for like 10 years. Taufik would be the talent there. (this comment isnt supposted to be at you, since u posted that 2 years ago lol)
