...'Man, that is an incredible job you did on your enhancement of this song. You brought out something that I haven't heard in any of the other recordings of this particular song and that is the guitar of maybe the best ever, James Burton. Everything Roy did was magnificent but thanks for making this even more special.
Simply amazing, the people in the audience cant comprehend the importance of this concert,....You have Roy Orbison backed up by Bruce Springsteen and countless other Superstars,..Just jawdropping in its scope of musical history. GOD I wish I was there at the time.
Thanks for this. The dolby sound is terrific! I was about to buy his new cd (in mono) but can't quite see the point. After all I can remember the joy when stereo first came out. Think I will just buy an older CD in stereo. His voice still sends shivers down my spine after 40 plus years.
@sixtieswarbler Stereo sound can never begin to match the mono experience. Whenever I have had an original mono recording of the Beatles, then replaced it with a stereo recording, the sound quality is always thinner & lacking in body & quality. This was why the beatles always recorded in mono, because the sound is more intense. Stereo was a bit of a con really. The original vhs of this concert sounded far stronger in mono than any of the high tech sound derivations that followed.
@sixtieswarbler For example, in, Pretty Woman from this concert, the long instrumental in the middle loses some of the strength of solo instruments in stereo, while in mono every instrument & every vocal rings out strong & clear. Particularly Roy's voice which is almost operatic in power & ring on some of the high notes. If there were a choice from the music industry, personally I would buy mono exclusively. All the 60's hits sound far far better. : )
