  • Wow. purely amazing. that cheering in the last 100-150 must have been amazing to experience

  • Rudisha is my freakin' hero..! The guy is amazing..!

  • So strong! Look at that period from just before 600m when everyone else is really starting to feel it, he still just has so much power. Wow.

  • If you are a freshmen in highschool and run less than a 2:11 you need to quit. Thats what i ran last week and i got second

  • @sasypop Do you mean run more than?

  • @sasypop a freshman in high school running under 2:11 is unheard of.

  • @keewee1091 My friend runs 2:10 LOL

  • @keewee1091 Haha not at all. Thats easy. as a frosh i ran 2:03 and as a junior i ran a 1:54. Its easy

  • @sasypop Running is an individual sport. Your genetics ultimately determine your ability. What you should focus on is challenging yourself and your own times. Be competitive, but don't worry if other people have more natural talent than you.

  • His running style is like a 400m runner, only he's strong enough to run the full 800m with it.

  • i love how the dude hypes it up around the end i was seriously hype myself

  • @unstoppable5ful

lol, yeah me too, Shit i felt like i was in the race....

  • What happened to Mr. Tanguii?? He went of first to the 0:55 second of video, and then, he went not neither in the top seven... o.O

  • @stranger1587 he was the rabbit

  • @stranger1587 I'm pretty sure he was a rabbit

  • rudisha will grill anyone.. and he can beat nick symmonds while running in steel-toe work boots

  • el es tremenda bestia para correr

  • nick symmonds is a beast!

  • I reckon this guy will be the first and if not, only person to break the 1:40 barrier

  • all that to just break the great mans record by one tenth of a second. congratulations you are an amazing and superb athlete. well done.

  • Lol why do you guys hate if he runs 218 I bet all of you run like 256 I honestly hate the 800 and ran 219 freshman year.

  • This place (Reiti) is also where Morceli ran his WR in the mile in 1993 (later broken by El Guerrouj in 1999). Dan Komen ran a WR for the 3000m in 1996 (still stands today). Ngeny ran a WR in the 1,000m here as well in 1999. So basically, 3 standing WR's are held on this track to this day.

  • im in highschool and my PB in 800m is 2:18 :)

  • @kolzagee1 that's not good.

  • @kolzagee1 thats slow as dirt

  • @kolzagee1 2:18 is not bad for a schoolboy, keep going.

  • @kolzagee1 don't listen to them ignorant pricks, keep it up

  • @kolzagee1 Keep it up I ran like 2.28 14 years as a freshman I run 1.53 now

  • @MySonOfSam that's pretty damn impresive

  • @MySonOfSam My freshman year i ran xc and track for the first time. I ran the 800 maybe 5 times that year and had a personal best of 2:06. I never ran track after my freshman year. Glad i saw your comment because of late i've been getting back into shape and trying to reach my full potential.

  • @ejh199130 That's nice to hear, as long as you train steady you will see that your performance will go up every season. I can recommend to read some literature on the internet about how to perform best at the 800m though, it may help alot (or of course, find a good trainer)

  • i knew it ... the first 4 are black

  • @SmasHTH3Pian0 No, Nick Symmonds got 3rd and hes white.

  • i am in high school and i can run better then a 2:23

  • the song at 2;15 is "alors on dance"

  • 2:20 David thinks: ok now i have finally deserved a beer

  • Comment removed

  • come on Guys everybody got their own race MJ's event was 400m , Rudisha event is 800m , everybody can do good if they train for that event , but everyone got their own favourite races , its about conditioning , 800 is an open event anybody can do good in it , 400 m is an sprinting event , hardest due to speed maintenance

  • Beast Mode

  • How long until someone breaks 1:40? hmmm

  • bolt could go 42..he was a 400 runner before he was a sprinter...he went 45 at the age of 15...and he went 30 point in the 300...nuff said

  • Oh my god, he just flies with that big stride!

  • @TheJimmyjamslam 16 I hope to go around 1:54 this year but thanks man!

  • WOW!!! he looked like he could probably run another 800 when he finished, what a hero i hope to run the 800 under 1.50 someday

  • Every ordinary man capable to run 800 m under 3 min mark can be considered as an athlete even if he works as a banker or a teacher.

  • whats the song starting at 2:15??????

  • @SnowLine714 alors on danse- stromae

  • @TheJimmyjamslam Thanks bro!

  • @SnowLine714 no problem :)

  • @SnowLine714 Stromae - Alors on Dance

  • So fast holy shit the fastest I've ran is 1:57

  • @buffalobeast13 thats pretty damn good, how old r ya

  • When the excellent David Rudisha set the current world record time for the men's 800 metres - in September last year - he covered each 100m segment of the race in 12.63 seconds. That is remarkable ... incredible. Anyone who doubts this should just consider the following fact: MR AVERAGE IS NOT CAPABLE OF SPRINTING 100 METRES IN 12.63 SECONDS !!

  • i'm still sitting at 2:17, so this is incredible. I run these for track, and to sprint one of these is definately beyond me.

  • I Did This At School And I Got 2:28

  • Anyone else notice that Rudisha didn't have his mouth open for practically the entire last straight away?!? I think he got more in the tank maybe a sub 1:40

  • Comment removed

  • When i don´t feel like going to the training, I come here and say: OK, now it´s decided I will not go to the training :D

  • what a fucking trip this must've been. alors on danse

  • Rudisha is going to break 1.40.

A modern day Coe would have broken 1.40 for sure......

  • @thenorthfacetrek Very unlikely. He absolutely peaked here and has had a downswing since. Im sure he will get back to top form in the future but sub 1.40 is a huge ask

  • tbh, MOST track WR's are broken simply due to improvements in the surface itself (i.e giving greater bounceback and grip) plus improved footwear design. I doubt ANY athlete could even run a sub 1.50 in trainers on the A: uneven and B: sandy gravel type track I run on :) Therefore it is always irrelavent to compare athletes from different times.

  • 1:40 is possible

  • @www1532 139 is possible... remember, they used to say the the 4 minute mile was humanly impossible... now they think that about the 100 second mile. Its just a matter of the right person coming around.

  • @zednik771 damn rite.

  • Wilson is the greatest ever 800m runner. I dont care what you do.

  • Y r black people SO damn Fast? Kenyans especially, Jamaicans, Afro Ameros n the like?

  • @supermashuhuri

Y are black people so fast lol Why are white people so slow ???? It something called melanin its in our genetic make up some have more than others other have less. But you probably dont' know much about that subjectlol

  • @fastblackbuy Hahah Black people arn't faster because of the protein melanin! Being more specific, its Carribean blacks and Carribean desendents, not ALL black people. There will be many many genetic reasons why Carribean blacks have evolved in such a way but the end product is that they have a lot of fast twitch muscles in their legs, and theyre strong!

  • @Rogerio34567 Actually they are faster due to melanin. Melanin is the basis of all those things you just mentioned such as fast twitch muscels. If you look at track and field many of the top sprinters have been from the US but were black. See when you have Melanin it is the building block for an individual to develop fast twitch muscles. Now some black may produce faster twitch muscles than others. Now the more Melanin that you have it allows you to retain more oxygen in your blood cells.

  • @fastblackbuy You're an idiot. Blacks are "faster" due to culture, that's it. It has nothing to do with melanin or biology or any other inane reason. Don't even think about going down that evolutionary argument, it leads to very Hitler-esque ideas and consequences.

  • Greatest 800m runner of all time!!!

  • This tremendous performance deserved a grander venue.

  • 1:53 That guy has 1.40. Thats why he is happy :D

  • proudly Kenyan :)

  • Song ----> Alors On Danse

  • The music and the announcer when he finished made the Moment so hype

  • My turtle is a bit faster

  • This Guy should compete in 400 too!

He will not screw it up.

  • lol i dont even know wat the commentater is saying but his hilrious he sounds likehe was doing flips

  • Man, if it weren't for the commentator's support he never would have done it.

  • I once ran a 1:36.23, but I don't enjoy running at all. They said I would win every race, but that seemed boring to me. I'm really good, but running's not for me.

  • @jdk0777 So ur saying that u ran faster than Rudisha on the 800m, omg u dumbfuck

  • @jdk0777 do you mean 2:36?

  • he could break 141 if he used an even-split rabbit to go 49.5 the first 400 and 25.5 the next 200. Then he'd just have to break 26 for the last 200. Rudisha may be capable of a 140.5.

  • Amazing.

  • I run 1.30 on 800m, and i havent even been born yet! :P

  • Nick Symmonds ran a pretty good race too. He's no Rudisha, but still pretty good.

  • its obvious yall have no idea about the strength it takes to improve over distances. Michael could never go under 1:48 in the 800 because he doesn't hae the endurance. And bolt would have to alter his training to even come close to the WR in the 400.

  • @darrinstrong yeah the 800 relies much heavier on the side of endurance and the 400 and 800 races are worlds apart. I would be suprised if MJ could run uner a 2:00 to be honest with you

  • @Bigrobkerr You have got to be joking......MJ ran 43. Even if he slowed down to say 57, he'd only have to run a 59 to break 2.....i really hope you werent serious

  • @RichardSavner I am serious the 400 and 800 are worlds apart one is mostly speed the other mostly endurance

  • @Bigrobkerr trust me when i say i know what im talking about......i was a half miler/miler, and i know a lot of quarter milers.......i dont care how far their worlds are apart...the comment was made that MJ couldnt run under 2 minutes....which is still stupid as all hell....he ran what.....42 point? and your telling me he couldnt come back in an 78 second quarter right after that? get real if you think he couldnt

  • @RichardSavner the 400 is 250-300m of sprint followed by 100 to 150m of managing not to slow down, with muscles toxic from anaerobic respiration. After a 43 second 400, you don't run another 400 at any pace. You stop for oxygen, otherwise you collapse.

    And nobody's run 42, mister knows-what-he's-talking-about.

Johnson might have been capable of sub-2, but it's no sure thing, as bulky as he was.

  • @RichardSavner Yes, he could certainly break 2, especially with a little bit of training. Many times people do transition from 400m to 800m (see David Rudisha) and do well; though those tend to be 400/800 types. If were talking a pure 400m or a 200/400 type guy then while he could still run okay times for the 800 he wouldn't even be remotely close to world class.

Move up to the 1500m though and I'd think you'd see many pure sprinters struggling to break even 4:30/4:40.

  • @LMaster1 i agree about the 1500 comment....and all i was saying was that to say that MJ couldnt run under two minutes was absurd after running the quarter as fast as he did

  • @Bigrobkerr If Johnson did a victory lap after a 400m signing less than 3 autographs he would break 2 mins..

  • is it fast for a 13 year old to run 2min13sec for 800m??? please reply. thanks.

  • @BlurDanry yea dats really good! i ran a 2:12 when i was 14 and was way ahead of anyone my age so keep it up thats awesome!

  • @BlurDanry when i was 14 i ran 2:08 2 weeks after starting training. if you are jst starting its a decent time.

  • I always thought Michael Johnson in his prime could have run sub 1:42 for the 800?

  • @yortzandat You're joking, yes?

  • @MyMeatYearns4Andrea No I'm not. Johnson in his pomp could jog first lap in 49seconds and hold it together on the second lap and hey presto, sub 1:42

  • @yortzandat No, you listen to me: you and I require lashings of sensual intercourse. Johnson would not stand a chance. In my opinion, any top 400-runner could jog a 49-second first. Your argument has gaps AND I HAVE EXPOLITED THEM BRUTALLY.

  • i watch this WR every night to get inspiration by this great athlete

  • @yhhhhh2

No, you're retarded for thinking Bolt can't do it. He simply doesn't want to do the training for it; he's split high 43 for 400 in a 4x4 without any 400 specific Training.

  • @MrJuChew You goon, Bolt hasn't got a hope in hell of taking the 400 record. If he's awesome over 100, that requires him to not be good enough for the 400. Vice versa, Johnson never bothered with the 100.

  • @MyMeatYearns4Andrea Look at Bolt's 200 and then say he doesn't have a chance at the 400. Johnson ran a 19.32 200, while Bolt has run a 19.19 200. To say that Bolt doesn't have a chance at the 400 is just stupid.

  • @JoshMcRay What is more important is that you and I have lashings of sexual intercourse NOW.

  • Usain Bolt can smash the current 400m record with out a doubt. I know Bolt can break the 43 barrier. if you think rudisha could beat him your mentally retarded

  • @DraconicVisage

Your mentally retarded for thinking bolt has the lungs for 400m.....

  • Holy crap. That is incredible.

  • He beat the record thanks to commentator's motivation on last 200 meters

  • Commentator: Faster! Faster!

Rudisha: I don't need you to break my own record bitch.

  • @coryhalorich That is not exactly true. Nick Symmonds runs the first lap of his 800m 'slower' relative to his competition. He does not, however, run the first 400m slower than his second 400m. So he actually runs his first 400 faster than the second one. I split timed his 2008 Olympic Trial victory at 800m. His first 400m was run in the ballpark of 50.0-50.5. His final time was 1:44.10, giving him a time of 54.10 for the second lap.

  • Man I think the commentator is more out of breath than he is.

  • Great! I lack only 10 seconds to be like rudisha :D

  • @atleta293 geez... im stilll 20 seconds off. whatever you age, thats still an amazing time.

  • @atleta293 sei italiano??? cme ti chiami?? :D

  • @atleta293 well 1:51 isn't too shabby :)

  • @jupitercrash07 That's right; anyone with a PB of 1:51 for the 800m must be a reasonably good athlete.

  • can someone explain to me why he doesn't run a slower first lap and a faster second lap? why wouldnt that get a better time? it makes more sense to me: save your energy for last lap

  • @cobrien1977 some runners run in different ways, some run even through out the race, some run faster to slower others run slower to faster like nick symmonds the american. it all depends on there confort zome and how they train. some might run faster-slow, faster than another runner who uses the same technique also again it all depnds on the comfort of the runner and how they train. i do slow until the last 300meters 1:02 first 56 sec last lap. 1:58 800meters

  • @coryhalorich : thanks for the info! i was curious if they all did fast-slow. nice time!

  • @cobrien1977 because you have creatine phosphate stores. in the first lap you are running off of your creatine phosphate stores...if you chilled the first lap and went faster on lap two you would be too tired to fully use your creatine phosphate stores and run fast. think of them like turbo boosters that you can only use during lap 1...if you wait until lap 2 they are waisted cuz if u use them on tired legs u aint gonna get moving fast like u could on lap 1.

  • @biscuitmancollin : thanks for the info! is that also why Michael Johnson ran a 21 second first 200m of his 43.18 400m WR? a quicker first half also?

  • @cobrien1977 yes it is most likely.

  • @biscuitmancollin partially true, but not exactly. when you refer to creatine phosphate stores, you are referring to the anaerobic alactic energy system. This does draw from the creatine phosphate stores in your muscles, but only lasts approximately 6-8 seconds. This would not get any 400m runner 1/4 through the first lap. After the alactic system is depleted, reliance goes to glycolysis (anaerobic lactic). Remember, Johnson had to have a high tolerance to lactate build up, as well as an aerobic

  • @biscuitmancollin base, which he got under clyde hart at baylor.

  • @milerboy3 please expound upon this comment. what do you mean? what are you trying to say?

  • @milerboy3 nevermind, i just saw the first part of your comment. thanks for the information.

  • i will beat this record ben morgan remeber the name

  • rudisha is good but not a legent yet....he did a couple of years good races but still he is not a legent....Wilson Kipketer, Sebastian Coe and Saif Auita were legents...

  • @modiano321987 a couple of goods races?!?!?! he has set the world record twice in the 800m he set it at 1:41.09 and then he broke it here with a 1:41.01. no one else has ran that time before he is indeed legendary.

  • @PRELIVES1005 no i am not saynig that hei is not good. he is the best....but with two good years not races he still no a legent....(i don't know if i am writing good, i don't know good english, i hope you understan what i am trying to say) have a nice day from greece... :)

  • @modiano321987 i understand the point you're making

  • Ceraepodoper

  • This guy is my goal, but dropping 8 seconds is no easy task lol.

  • @Miknorway no shiiit

  • so....i guess symmonds wont be beating rudisha in daegu.

  • when i was in 8th grade i ran like a 4:40 for an 800m lol. But hard work has brought me to a PB this spring of 2:07. It's nothing spectacular but I hope to go under 2:00 my senior year. It might be a big jump but I think I could do it because when I ran 2:07 I felt like I could've went another 100m or so.

  • @doktajae If you stop and listen carefully, you'll hear the familiar sound of nobody caring.

  • @doktajae thats a desent PB :)

  • @doktajae 4.40 for 800m isn't something you should be telling anyone lol

  • @Rogerio34567 maybe not a 4:40 but the point is i was pretty damn slow back then lol

  • Rudisha's splits were: 49.1 (400m) and 1:14.54 (600m). Rudisha is also a decent 400m runner with a timed 45.9 effort.

  • Grande Rudisha. Ma 'sta scema scalmanata che urla come una pazza non si potrebbe evitare? Chi ama l'atletica - in genere - detesta tutto 'sto rumore.

  • whats the name of the song at the end???? best ive ever heard!

  • 1:49 best winch in the world

  • Notice how 50% of them are Kenyans? Yeah.

  • The video is sped up.

  • @Evanschamp Very funny.

  • @T00c00L998 Wasn't meant as a joke. Time it yourself.

  • @Evanschamp It's not sped up, but about 7 seconds of video is cut out on the 2nd turn. Look again.

  • @surveysaysNO good eye

  • went out in 44....

  • im 13 and ran 2:21 for my best time is that good?

  • @goodnightliberty Depends on how often you train.. if it's 3-4 times a week it's good, if less, then it's very good.

  • Dam, hes my 800m hero :). I dont think i could ever run an 800 close to that time lol specially now that am not running anymore...The music is nice, anyone know what its called???

  • damn hes not even tired

  • kaki will get him.

  • an average of 28.8 kph (18 mph) damn....

  • FASTAHH DAVID! FASTAHH MAHN!

  • Thumbs up if you think Rudisha can beat Usain in a 400. 45 for the first lap in an 800 that is unhuman.
