this was great! My interest started with Disneyland and lost in space,early sixties, the only real drawback is flight-time, 3mins. way too short, 7/9 mins. still not cost effective! wasn't Bell trying to find a powerplant that used nuc fuel pellets? what happened with that idea? and what about a FBL (fly by light) helmet model?

this man needs to meet up with yvess rossi...that way they can combine there inventions for mainstream use. yvess rossi's invention has wings and can actually fly like superman with jet like speed but the only problem is he needs a parachute to land...all he needs is jetpack power to keep him in an upright position whe his ready to land :)

Totally impractical, costly and dangerous, a dead end in terms of personalised transport. Wouldn't mind a go though... ;o) Small gas turbines are a better bet..

I think Eric said he made 200 practice flights and a few injuries before he was ready for prime time. His knees have been blown out twice he said I think. Ankles. The pack weighs 180 pounds when fully fueled. You can see that if you made a hard landing just a few feet off the ground you could easily get hurt. He said he lost count at over 800 flights now. In other words, don't try this at home.
