How would you compare the Green Berets to SEALs? Do they get to see a nice chumck of action? I am leaving next month for boot for the Army got Rangers on my contract hope to go on to SF selection. Any tips or advice from any SF guys out there?
GREEN BERRETS ARE NOT AIR BOURN BUT MOST OF THEM HAVE THERE WINGS AND ARE AIR BOURN THEY ARE TWO SEPPERATE COURSES AND LOW JUMPING FROM HELICOPTERS IS NOT ALLOWED ANYMORE COZ OF STATIC ELECTRICETY THE ROPE MUST HIT GROUND FIRST
@tyroneuva1 Thanks for the all caps. All Green Berets have their silver wings. All Green Berets must attend jump school. So therefore, technically, all Green Berets are airborne. As for jumpmaster qualified, halo or haho qualified, that is a speciality course available to the Army's special operations units, Green Berets, Rangers, etc.
The green berets arn't even an airborne force..their amphibious. Royal Marines are the one's who wear the green beret. Other forces have a green beret but when saying "green beret", you're usually revering to the royal marines.
@Scorpian472 In the US, Army Special Forces are the only troops authorized to wear a Green Beret, so Special Forces Soldiers are often simply referred to as "Green Berets."
@Chewcoo51 We do a little bit of everything brother. The Green Berets are one of the most highly trained fighting forces in the world. And yes most Berets are airborn, so the do do H.A.L.O. jumps, but most of us low jump from helicoptors.

Hey I thought the green beret only purpose was to train other country's force how to shoot and fight. Do they do any H.A.L.O jumps?
